I had been given no chance to discuss what had happened with Daphne after the party. She had decided to visit her parents’ place the next day before I even woke up. We hadn’t slept in the same room yet. I had planned for that to happen only after she officially became my queen.

But after two days, she returned with a smile on her lips. She knocked on the door to my office, and I smiled back when I saw her.

“Hey, I just wanted to let you know I’m back,” she said, walking closer.

“How was the visit to your parents?” I asked.

Daphne sat down in a chair across from me, waving her hand dismissively. “Oh, you know how they are—over the top thrilled about me being the next queen,” she chuckled.

But I knew her parents had always hoped Daphne would be my queen. Even pressuring her.

“Yes, I can imagine,” I said.

No she wouldn't have scented him unless she met him face to face as all of the scents in the place was overwhelming all of them, which is why the king had trouble finding Ana in the crowd, so there is still the possibility that Jackson is her mate.
