I hadn’t seen Zaliver since he chained me last night. It was a good thing that I was in the mood of strangling him. Perhaps with his own chains too. The idea didn’t seem half bad to me.My wolf was just as annoyed as I was, which made me glad she wouldn’t allow him to get away with everything. His reasons were way off for his childish behavior. He knew it well like I did deep down in my heart. He must know deep, deep, deep down. I hoped.I only placed my hand on the young man’s shoulder! As if it was some sort of betrayal. I shook my head. I tried everything to get the chains off—like, hitting it, chewing on it (bad idea), trying to get my hands out, breaking it, and pulling at the chain. Nothing worked. I barely dented the thing. The alarm clock read eight fifty in the morning, making me sigh out loud in both frustration and exhaustion. Although at some point, I did fall asleep last night, but it quickly went away. I just wasn’t comfortable at all. I missed the warmth of Zaliver’s bo
I stood from the bed and popped some of my joints. I walked into the bathroom with the chains dragged behind me. I had to leave the door slightly open to leave room for the chains, which I didn’t like. Everyone knows you’re not supposed to shower with the door open; that’s how creeps get in. I stripped and entered the shower, relaxing my body in the hot water. I was slightly annoyed at each clink that the chains made as they hit each other while I was washing my hair, but I couldn’t exactly remove them. It felt good to shower using feminine products. My shampoo had the smell of fruit blends and lavender. When I finished, I wrapped a towel around my body and stepped out. I was slightly surprised to see that the door was fully opened, but I guess it was expected after all the tugging. I was walking to the closet when I saw something on the bed. Nearing it, I found a note on top of a computer and picked it up, then my heart’s beating went fast. The note had extremely neat yet rough handw
When the clock read eight fifty in the afternoon, I began pacing the room, glancing at the door after a few seconds. It felt like I had a football game going on in my stomach. I brought my fingers to my mouth. I didn’t bite my nails since I hated the feeling, but I was tempted to.What will Zaliver do as soon as he walks in? How can he mark me if he won’t actually mark me? Does that even make sense? As soon as the clock read eight fifty-nine, I stopped my pacing and looked at the door, waiting. When the eight turned into a nine right on the dot, the door swung open to show my tall and dark mate. I held my breath as he entered and closed the door with his electric blue eyes on me. We didn’t speak or move. He looked at me as I looked at him.Like always, he wore all black and his hair was pushed back. I could see his fingers went through it. He looked as beautiful as ever and even though I could sense darkness surrounding him, I still wasn’t afraid of him. His eyes scanned over me, maki
“I miss him,” I complained. Hannah shook her head and continued to check the stock. We were in the back of her store where they kept all the goodies that couldn’t go in the front.“I would be surprised if you didn’t. Don’t worry, he said he’d call as soon as he’d land and then every two hours. In the meantime, relax.” She comforted me as she checked something on the clipboard and moved to the next box.“I know, I know, but that doesn’t seem to matter at my wolf. She’s just adding on by painting pictures in my head. What if there’s a storm and their plane crashes? I don’t even know if he can swim! Oh my god, I’m horrible. I didn’t even check his suitcase. What if he runs out of something? He can’t go nude. . . I’d kill him,” I mumbled that last part to myself.I’d never been worried about someone traveling far away from me. As soon as I had seen him disappear into the plane, I felt a sense of panic and despair to have him back. I knew it was ridiculous and that the man could take care
I watched from the couch as Zaliver went back and forth from the closet to the black suit case in the bed and sighed.“I can smell and sense your displeasure.” I didn’t say anything as I was not sure what to answer to that. I was bothered by a few things though. He put down whatever he was holding and turned to look at me with his brows pulled down.“You’re . . . upset on me leaving.” His voice was uncertain, and I couldn’t put my finger on.“I’ve never actually considered this.” I cocked my head, wanting to hear more.He lifted a hand and held his chin; a sign that he was pondering over something and let out a sudden chuckle.“You know, I’ve never really had to explain myself to anyone in the last three hundred years. I think I owe you an apology for not being considerate of your thoughts regarding my trip. I cannot cancel this one, but in the future, I promise to inform you of anything.” I looked at him, duped. Talk about hitting the nail on the head.“Apology accepted,” I said quic
Luke was talking to Courtney when his eyes suddenly flashed silver and then stayed that way completely. He growled out loudly catching everyone’s attention. I noted a little shift in Mark’s body. He moved closer to Hannah just in case, but when he saw Luke’s silver eyes, his head bowed down, and everyone else followed.“Having a nice lunch, Vivian?” Zaliver asked using Luke’s body.I looked into his eyes and felt the connection, but it wasn’t the same as having him around and looking into his blue eyes. I looked around everyone who were quiet and in a submissive position.“Umm, Yeah. So . . . What’s. . . ?” I trailed off not really knowing what to ask. Here I was missing him all day and when I finally get the chance to talk to him, I’ve got nothing to say.“Just wanted to tell you that I’ve landed and wanted to know what you were up to,” he said, looking around the table and at everyone.“And you couldn’t call?” I asked, lifting a brow in amusement. I was bit worried Luke would get ma
Darkness.A constant beeping sound could be heard in the room, and I was pretty sure there was something in my arm.My body felt light and my head was a bit fuzzy, but the only thing that hurt the most was my upper stomach; a softer one though. You know that feeling when someone socked you and even after the hit, the pain would still sting and throb—yup, that’s what it felt like.I took in a deep breath through my nose, inhaling something that smelled like chemicals all over the place, including Zaliver’s scent. I felt fine wherever I was, knowing his presence would make me feel secured. The room was cold and I felt like I was on a small bed, but not the bed Zaliver or I slept in. Thinking of him made me recall something, but just as fast as it came, my thoughts were gone . . . Now, what was it?I tried to remember the last time I saw him, but all I could remember was hearing his voice. What was he saying? Something about . . . a gift? Why would he buy me a gift when it wasn’t my birt
Zaliver’s eyes met mine as he talked to the doctor; his face was serious and determined. I looked back at him, hoping my expression would tell him that I wanted to know what was going on, but he looked away. I sighed and kicked my feet. Why wouldn’t they tell me what was wrong? I’d been fine in the morning when he was here and as soon as he left I just . . . Fell into a funk, but I was fine.Hearing his voice had made me extremely happy and then all of a sudden, it felt like I was getting torn apart from the inside. Maybe he was right—I needed to shift more, but I’ve never heard of anything like this. I needed to talk to my wolf, but for that to happen, the drugs had to be out my system first. I didn’t realize Zaliver was in front of me until I looked up, too distracted because of my thoughts.I stared up into his secretive blue eyes, and he looked back at me as well. I noticed that the doctor and the nurse were trying to leave so I hopped off the bed and attempted to stop them, but m
