I stopped clicking and let the Vampire Diaries play. As soon as Damon came on, my breath hitched. It wasn’t because of his hotness. Looking at him made me go blank. I blinked multiple times and made a face. I squinted at the screen when a sense of déjà vu hit me. Black and blue. I shrugged and kept flickering through the TV.

“Somebody saaave meee!—”

“I got in one lil fight, and my mom got scared—”

“Next up, Hannah Mon—”

“I’m not your dad—” I went back.

“ . . . tana. ” My brows furrowed in confusion.

Staring at the screen, I frowned.

“Hannah. Hannah. Hannah?” The name rolled off my tongue without thought. Something about that name. Eh, I was too old to watch this.

Slap “Whore! ”

“Oookay,” I mumbled to myself, quickly changing the channel.

“What are you wearing Jake from State Farm?” My head tilted to the side.

“Uhh . . . khakis.”

“She sounds hideous.”

I turned the TV off. Why did I get the feeling like I had compared someone to Jake from State Farm before? Man, it had been a weird coup
