All of us stood rooted to the ground and the air was suddenly thick with fear. I’m sure all of us were wide-eyed, looking at Zaliver’s direction. He had his back to us, but his head turned to our direction with a glare directed at Amber. While I’m sure it looked threatening to the others with his height and bulging muscles, to me it painted a completely different picture. The light coming from the window shined down on him perfectly; his black hair shined like a dark halo, a black strand of hair falling over those icy blue orbs.

Amber took a few steps backwards with her head lowered until she hit the wall. What the heck was that about? Her friends threw each other the same look before discretely talking to each other while looking at us.
