I moved away from the lycan king immediately when Tyler's voice thundered behind us. I pricked on my clothes nervously not that I've done anything wrong but the thought of the lycan king been around me still lingered in my mind.
I postured myself quickly as I came face to face with a bloodshot eyes of Tyler, if only looks could kill I should be six feet under by now cause his gaze is killing.
"What the hell is going on here?" He asked fuming out aggressively.
Judging by his composure and attitude one could say he actually still had an iota of likeness towards me if not love.
The thought alone gladdens my heart. I chuckled lightly seeing his reaction.
"So the mighty alpha who always acted cold towards can act jealous or is he putting up an act here?" I thought inwardly still confused on his sudden behaviour.
"I think am talking to people over here right?" He thundered again jolting me out of my thought.
"Uhm… you see there's really nothing you know…." I was cut short by Nabita who bursted out crying.
I was dumbstruck as the situations on ground gots tangled.
I looked at the lycan whose name happens to be Xavier with misty eyes as my so-called mate happened to rush to my half sister's side to inquire what went wrong with her.
I felt betrayed, used. I tried keeping the tears that threatened to flow like a river down my eyes but all effort went to drain as they started pouring out a run with no effort to stop which kinda ruined my makeup.
Now when I thought I was getting a chance with Tyler thai just proof to me that I am nothing but a working toy to him.
The betrayal was like a hot knife which was pressed deeply into a cold lump of butter. I felt my heart was gonna stop beating but I was wrong.
The care and attention he gave to Nabita my half sister, made those at the gala party wondering who I was to the alpha initially.
The shame and embarrassment was too much for me to handle, I tried moving away from the scene but as clumsy am I….. I missed another step and its looks as if the clock stop ticking.
I waited for the ground effects on my body but none seems to happen……
"Does it take eternity for one to fall?" I asked no one in particular.
I felt a strong hand around my waist holding me very tightly to itself. I came out of my illusion as I felt the sparks again, I looked up to behold the two pair of blue eyes which held nothing but love and affection in it.
I adjusted myself properly while still in his hold while I placed my both hands on his shoulders to balance well.
I got pushed away with an heavy force though it's took all the stability in me not hit the ground.
I raised my eyes up in anger to behold the bastard who pushed me……
"Are you hell bent on disgracing yourself and the pack?" Tyler yelled at me yearning a scornful look from me.
"Did you just say I'm disgracing the pack?" I fired back at him.
I can't hold up the anger again, for the fact that he had the audacity to cheat on me with my half sister and still showed it to me and to the world then let the worst happened.
"Yes!!! And I'll say that a million times you ungrateful bitch" he spat out angrily.
Well that's it….. that's the last straw that broke the carnels back.
Now I don't give a fuck about the pack's name nor image since their worthless alpha can't keep himself in check.
"Well I'm not like you who goes around running around anything under skirts forgetting that he has an alpha duty to perfrom"
"Did you just insulted him?" Nabita stepped in ready to tear me into pieces.
"What are you going to do about it shameless bitch" I fired at her.
"But at least am not like you who throw yourself to people who are higher than your class " she said eyeing the lycan's king.
"I wont stand here and watch you insult me woman" the lycan king said though he spoke calmly but there authoritative tones in it.
His voice alone swept me from my feets. It sounds like a melodious tone in my ear.
I don't know where this feeling is coming from but I can bet it it actually feels like a paradise.
"And what are you gonna do? Tyler thundered, poking him in his chest not minding his rank or who he was.
"Is this how much he cares about Nabita?" I asked myself.
"Did you just poke my chest?" Xavier asked him, looking so furious as ever.
"And I'll do that millions of times if you dare raise your voice at her" he snapped at him angrily.
I've never in my life for the past three years been with him, seen him so furious before…… like his veins were popping out of his neck, eyes almost bulging out of its socket.
I tried moving close to them so they wouldn't fight but Nabita started her crazy acts and the gala night turned to a battlefield.
"Wait a minute, are you rejecting your Luna publicly?" He asked him calmly again but yet dangerously.
"And how is it your damn business? Young man" he snapped back at him.
"Well it is my damn business as the lycan king. Because you're an alpha doesn't mean you should be treating people like a piece of trash it actually shows how incompetent you're " he snapped at him sounding irritated by the way Tyler kept defending Nabita.
"Oh oh oh now I get" he clapped his hand in mockery while throwing me a disgusting glance.
"You could have just uttered your intentions before, well you can have she's just a cheap whore to begin with" he said while smirking at me.
"Did you just rejected me?" I asked to be sure if my ears are not deceiving me.
Uriahs POV:After my intense confrontation with Alpha Denzer, the days that followed were surprisingly calm and peaceful – or at least as peaceful as they could be in such a grim situation. I had made a choice, a difficult one, to act like a devoted mate to Denzer for the sake of my son, Arion. While I couldn't bear the thought of being intimate with him, I had to keep up the act to keep my son safe.Denzer seemed to give me space, and I was grateful for that. He didn't push himself on me, and I took advantage of this by keeping my distance whenever he tried to be close. I always found an excuse or pretended to be occupied with some task, making sure there was a barrier between us at all times. It was a delicate balance, not too submissive, but not too rebellious either. I knew that the moment I resisted too much, it could endanger Arion's life.In the days that followed, I spent most of my time with Arion. Alpha Denzer allowed me to be with him, and I cherished every moment we ha
Xavier's POV:I immediately summoned the pack members and relayed my suspicions. "Anya might have acted through a proxy," I explained. "It's time we find out who might have helped her."Lucas and the others nodded in agreement, and the search took a new direction. We questioned every pack member, and it wasn't long before we found a lead—a young wolf who seemed nervous and evasive."Tell me the truth," I demanded, staring into the young wolf's eyes. "Did you have any involvement in Uriah's kidnapping?"His gaze shifted, and he hesitated before finally confessing. "Yes, Alpha. Anya coerced me into helping her. She threatened my family if I didn't do as she said."My heart sank, realizing that Anya's web of deception had ensnared others as well. "You will be forgiven if you cooperate fully," I said sternly. "Tell me everything you know about the kidnapping."He hesitated, fear still evident in his eyes, but he eventually provided valuable information. He revealed the location where Any
Xavier's POVI stood in my study, my mind focused on the task at hand. I needed to find Uriah, and to do that, I had to start from the beginning. My instincts told me that Anya had been hiding something, and I needed to confirm my suspicions."Beta Lucas," I called, my voice steady. Lucas was one of my most trusted advisors, and I knew I could rely on his judgment. He entered the room promptly, bowing respectfully. "Alpha Xavier, you called for me?""Yes," I replied, "I need you to gather a team of our best trackers and investigate the place where Uriah was last seen with Anya before she was kidnapped."Lucas furrowed his brow. "But Anya claimed that Uriah willingly left with Alpha Denzer on her own."I fixed him with a cold look. "Anya had hidden herself and her ambitions very well. She wouldn't make up a story about Uriah leaving of her own free will with Alpha Denzer."Lucas hesitated for a moment, then nodded in understanding. "You're right, Alpha. I apologize for being short-sigh
Xavier's POV:After the party celebrating Alex's first birthday, the little one was sent back to his room with the help of his nanny. Meanwhile, the elders, including Anya, and I had gathered for a small gathering. Food and drinks were brought out, but no one dared to bring up Uriah's missing issue. They all knew my temper, and they didn't want to risk annoying me further. As I took a seat at the table, the elders greeted me warmly. "Alpha Xavier, it's good to see you join us," one elder said with a smile."Yes, it's been a while since we all gathered like this," added another elder."I'm glad we can come together and celebrate," I replied, trying my best to appear relaxed.Anya, sitting next to me, chimed in, "Indeed, it's a joyous occasion. Baby Alex's first birthday is a momentous event for the pack."Another elder raised his glass and said, "To the future of our pack and to the health and happiness of our young Alpha."We all clinked our glasses together, toasting to the well-
Xavier's POV: As the days stretched on, the search parties scoured the forests and neighboring territories tirelessly. We followed every lead and pursued every possible clue, but Uriah seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth. Then, one day, as I was contemplating our next move in the study, I received a message that Anya wanted to see me again. This time, I rushed to her room with a mix of hope and anxiety. Upon entering, I saw her lying on the bed, her face still pale and her eyes red from crying. I approached her cautiously, unsure of what to expect. "Anya," I said gently, "how are you feeling?" She looked up at me, her expression filled with sorrow and regret. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she began to apologize profusely. "Alpha Xavier, I'm so sorry. I betrayed your trust, and I couldn't protect Uriah," Anya begged. “It's okay,” I said with a calm look as I looked at her . “I am suppose to protect this pack. But all that I have done is cause pains. I'm no
Xavier's POV:Days turned into weeks, and the search for Uriah seemed to be fruitless. Every lead we pursued turned out to be a dead end, and my heart sank with each passing day. Anya remained in a coma, and she was the only person who could shed light on what exactly happened in the forest that fateful night. One day, as I was discussing some ideas with the pack's scouts on how to track Uriah, I received urgent news that Anya had awakened. I hurriedly left the study room and rushed straight to Anya's room. When I entered, I saw her lying on the bed, her face pale and her eyes filled with tears. My heart softened at the sight of her vulnerability, but I pushed away my emotions, focusing on the urgency of the situation."Anya," I said coldly, trying to hide my own turmoil, "what were you doing in the forest that day with Uriah?"Tears streamed down Anya's face, and she began to beg for forgiveness. But I couldn't afford to be swayed by emotions. I needed answers. She stammered, "Uriah.
