Jasper waited for a second or two more before he straightened his back and then leaned back a little.

He stepped back a bit as I took lungfuls of air and calmed down my breathing.

I felt both relieved and disgruntled by his action of stepping away. Jasper put even more distance between us and began,

“So, now that we have that confusion cleared, let me get to the point.”

I nodded, I could not get words out of my mouth either way.

“I wish to go to the southern territory soon and I want you to give me the names of the top 2 alphas, their pack names, and whatever else you know about them.”

I blinked at his abrupt change of behavior. How could he not be flustered with the way we had just been inches apart from kissing each other?
