Carson POV

I held Marly with one hand, while grabbing the hand and snapping the wrist of the man who had just dared to touch my mate.  I heard him scream in pain, as I released him and watched as a woman ran to his side.  “How dare you!” she screamed as she tried to help the man.

“She cannot be your mate.  She is Maxwell’s mate,” the man bit out, as he held his hand to his chest.  “She is no longer his mate; he rejected her,” I stated to the couple.  They gasped in shock looking between me and Marly.  “She is just an Omega.  Why would a man like you, want her?” the man spit out.

I set Marly on her feet and stepped in front of Marly protecting her from these evil people.  “Who the hell are you?” I commanded.  The man cleared his throat, “We are her parents.  And we apologize for the chaos she has created,” he said, as if somehow pacifying me with his words.

“Apologize for what?  Being rejected?  That is hardly her fault,” I reminded them.  “It is entirely her fault.  She does not even have a wolf,” her mother spewed out.  “I have a wolf.  She just has not come forward yet,” Marly snarled behind me.  She was right.  I could detect a wolf, but it was currently dormant for whatever reason.  Perhaps because she was an Omega.

“The fact that your wolf has not come forward is an indication of more wrong with you than we first realized,” her father bit out around the pain of his swelling wrist.  “Reject her, and we will take her home,” her mother said, as if this was a normal occurrence.  I stared at them for a moment, before looking to Marly.

“Well, are you staying at Red Pines Pack or coming with me?” I asked her.  She looked to her parents, the pain and hurt she was experiencing on her face.  She then looked back to me, “I am going with you,” she replied quietly.  “Are you out of your mind?  Do you know who this man is?” her mother scowled at her.

I felt Marly put her hand in mine, “I cannot stay here and be a breeder for my ex-mate and my sister,” Marly said to her parents.  Her mother had the grace to gasp when she heard the plans for her daughter.  “You would do well to accept the offer, Marly.  This man will simply do the same when you get to his pack,” her father added.

I growled, as Marly looked up at me.  I could see the fear in her eyes, but there was something else as well.  Resiliency.  She may have been weaker, or beaten down, but I could see her strength coming through.  “It has to be better than what is for me here,” she replied to her father, before looking back to me.  “Can we go now?” she asked.

“With pleasure,” I replied.  “Do you want to get your things?” I asked her.  “I will grab my bag,” she said, as she left to get her stuff.  “You better get that wrist taken care of.  I am quite certain there were multiple breaks,” I said smugly to the arrogant prick standing in front of me.

“Do not bother sending her back, when you are done with her,” he muttered as he walked past me.  “Say anything else, and I will break the other wrist,” I promised him.  He scurried off with his wife.  Not surprising that they have nothing to say to their daughter before she leaves.

Jeff came up behind us, “Well, Marly.  It is certainly nice to meet you,” Jeff stated as he kept my little secret.  I did not want Marly to know I was the Alpha Lycan for the kingdom just yet.  I sensed she would panic even more than she already was, and I wanted a chance to get to know her without the formalities that would come soon enough.

“What is keeping her so long?” I asked nobody in particular.  Suddenly I hear a scream, and I know immediately it is Marly.  I race off in the direction she left, wanting to get to her as soon as possible.  What else would this poor woman have to endure at the hands of the Red Pines Pack members.

Jeff and his mate were close on my heels.  I got to a door that had a tight staircase, which led to a door to the basement.  I stomped down the stairs, enraged to see a woman now beating up Marly.  “What the hell?” I yelled as I pulled the woman off my mate.  She had torn Marly’s dress and left her standing there half dressed.

“Who the hell are you?” I demanded.  I heard more footsteps coming down the stairs and immediately removed my jacket and placed it over Marly’s shoulders.  “I am her sister.  And I am telling you Marly, I will kill you, if you do not leave Maxwell alone!” she yelled.

“No worries there.  She is coming with me,” I replied as I tucked Marly under my arm.  “Do you have everything?” I asked her.  I looked around the room and saw the filthy mattress on the floor, and wondered how Marly had managed to live in these conditions.  Rage filled my body, as I looked to see Maxwell join his Luna, with Alpha Luke not far behind.

“Yes, I have what I need,” Marly replied around a swelling lip.   “You can’t be serious,” Marly’s sister said with a smirk.  “Why can’t I be serious?” I asked, stepping closer to her.  In her arrogance, she had no visible semblance of fear.  “You cannot want this useless Omega,” she said with a chuckle.

“I dare you,” I said to the woman.  She replied arrogantly, “Dare me to do what?”.  “I dare you to insult my mate one more time,” I said coldly.  Her smile dropped from her face as she looked between us.  “What is the Alpha Lycan going to do with an Omega?” she questioned as I felt Marly gasp beside me.

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 10 - Complicated

Marly POV I sat there in stunned silence as Cassie’s words echoed in my mind. “What is the Alpha Lycan going to do with an Omega?”. She must have been mistaken. Who was the Alpha Lycan? Had she confused me being with the other man? Was he the Alpha Lycan. I stood paralyzed in shock and fear. There is no way I could go with them now. I would be treated far worse there then here. There is nothing but horrible things that happen to pack members at the Full Moon Pack. The temper. The temper of the Alpha Lycan. Had he not realized I was an Omega? He knew I was, but what game was he playing? Did he need a slave there? Oh, my Goddess … not a breeder! I stepped away from Carson only to have him take a hold of my hand, before I could move any further away. I felt the sparks move between us, reassuring me of something that I knew was not real. “What happens between me and my mate is our business,” Carson replied coldly.

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 11 - Trouble

Carson POV I hated this situation. I hated the look on Marly’s face as I replied to her question. This situation was complicated. I was in a tenuous position in my jurisdiction. I was expected to be a strong leader. A leader feared by those outside of my personal pack. I had to admit, Marly did not seem to have it in her to be feared. “Perhaps you could dummy it down for me,” Marly stated angrily. I looked at her in surprise. My mate had a backbone and was most definitely not impressed with my attempt to spare her. “Marly, there are expectations of me. Expectations that may be different from those in the other jurisdictions,” I started to say when she cut me off. “Then why bother taking me with you? They were right. Reject me now, and at least I would know the hell I have to face,” she replied coldly. I could see her lip quiver and I knew she was trying to be brave. She had been through a lot in one night. The pain of

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 12 - Shock

Marly POV I sat there in stunned silence as the pain burned in my heart. Watching my mate with another woman in his arms hurt more than I could have expected. Not interested in waiting, I growled and threw the vehicle door open. I stepped out before anybody could help me out. I heard a growl from inside the vehicle but did not pay it any attention. In another time I would have been thrilled with my surroundings. I had never left the Red Pines Pack before. To see something new was exciting. This pack house was pristine. It was massive and looked like it was a warm and welcoming place. Before I could move forward, I felt someone at my side. I looked to see Sarah there with an apologetic smile on her face. I looked away. She reminded me of my past, and the reality that this was not my future. I felt sparks on my arm and was reminded of unfinished business with the Alpha. I looked at him expecting to see hi

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 13 - Attacked

Marly POV I staggered backwards under the pressure of the slap. I put a hand to my cheek and held it on the throbbing spot on my face. “What the hell?” I demanded, as I watched the woman walk into the room and slam my door. She locked it behind her, and caused me a moment of panic as I took in her stance, “Who are you?” she asked me. “Who the hell are you?” I replied. She looked me up and down. I was still in my torn dress with Carson’s suit jacket covering my body. “I am the Luna of the Full Moon Pack,” she responded proudly. I looked at her, “My understanding is that you are the acting Luna,” I said calmly. Seeing her face go red gave me a brief moment of happiness, until she grabbed the jacket and ripped it from my body. A chill rolled over my body, as I simply stood there in shock. “You heard wrong,” she stated, before repeating, “Who are you and why are you wearing Carson’s jacket?” she demanded. She had no authority

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 14 - Proposition

Carson POV I heard Marly’s door slam and sat up in bed pulling on my gym shorts. Had she stormed out of her room? Was she not tired after the trip and the day she had? I opened my door but saw nothing so perhaps she had simply gone back to her room. I started to close the door when I heard voices coming from across the hall. I walked over and stood for a moment. She knew nobody so it would make no sense that she would have anybody visit with her. I was just about to knock when I heard something hit the wall hard. I pounded on the door, “Marly?” I shouted, trying to listen for her reply. There was nothing. I started slamming my body against the door, cursing the strength of our buildings to withstand an attack. I heard more crashing inside the room and knew I needed to get in there. I raised my foot and slammed it into the door handle. The wood splintered and the door flew open. I was able to enter the room.

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 15 - Questions

Marly POV I cannot believe I just suggested that. My heart was racing. I was leaving soon. What was I thinking suggesting we sleep together. Well not “sleep” together; just sleep. That is all. I saw a look of surprise cross his face and I felt uncertainty fill me. “Never mind, I will sleep on the couch,” I said quickly. I was moving around him when his hand reached out and stopped me. “I am sure we can handle one night, don’t you think?” he teased. I looked at him, my stomach filled with butterflies bouncing around. “Of course,” I stated calmly. I would not be intimidated by this man. No more would I bow to others. I do not know why I am feeling this way, but for some reason I feel comfortable with Carson. It makes me a little sad that things could not work out between us, but an Alpha Lycan needs a strong mate. An equal and I was far from equal. I huffed before him and moved towards the bed. “I will be right back,”

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 16 - Leaving

Marly POV Warm. I was so warm, and there was a weight on my body. I could not move away from the heat source. I groaned, as my eyes were still closed, and I had no sense of where I was. I wiggled around, trying to dislodge the weight across my body. I had to use the washroom, and the delay was adding unwanted pressure on my body. My eyes slowly opened, forcing me to remember the events before I fell asleep. I gasped and whipped my body around, effectively waking the person who was keeping me warm. “Good morning,” Carson mumbled as he stretched. As he did, hardness was poking my body. I felt my face go red with embarrassment. I had sex before but had never woken up with somebody. And I was limited in my experience. “Where are my pillows?!?” I shrieked, remembering my wall of pillows that were supposed to keep us separated. Carson chuckled, “They were in the way,” he teased, as he swung his legs over the side of the bed.

Carson POV I saw Marly’s lip quiver as I spoke my words. It caused me great pain, but I did my best to cover it up with fake bravery I did not feel. She was my world. How would I be able to let her go? “No, that is not an option. If you do not want me, I will leave. But I am not going with this stranger,” she stated, angrily. “Of course, I want you. I want you safe,” I said, but she had already moved away from me. The fear was coming off her body in waves. “I never said I did not want you, sweetheart,” I murmured to her, trying to take her back in my arms. She would not allow it. She was closing in on herself. Shutting me out, and I could not allow that to happen. “What if you had protection set up here for her?” I suggested to the King, looking towards him for some suggestions to make this workable for Marly. He looked to me apologetically. “I do not know how that would work. We also need to get some DNA testing don

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 46 - Royalty

Marly POV Before I could respond, Jenna was spitting and sputtering, “King, she is nothing more than a weak Omega!” she exclaimed. The King whipped around, “Are you implying I would not recognize my own kind when I see them?” he asked, stepping into her space. Jenna cowered, while Elder Timothy spoke up. “All royals are accounted for. None were kidnapped; how could this be remotely possible?” he inquired. The King looked to me, “I do not know, but I will find out. You will come with me young lady. It is clear you are not safe here,” he said, while I stood there in stunned silence. “You are not taking her anywhere,” Carson replied, as the King looked at him. “This royal has been kidnapped, abused, and now she deserves to find out who she really is,” he summarized as if this was the end of the conversation. I stood there for a moment, before I was shaken from my shock. “No,” I said softly. They continued ar

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 45 - King

Carson POV I knew I should have handled Jenna better, but she had pissed me off in her assumptions. I needed to arrange a conversation with the Elders to advise I would be hosting Marly’s ceremony within the week. I knew that would come with its own challenges, but I was prepared to stand up for my mate. We went back to our room, showered and got ready for breakfast. As we were finishing, I received word that the King would be arriving within the hour. Wanting to prepare with Jeff, I looked to Marly, “The King will be here shortly. Let’s go so we can prepare for the meeting,” I suggested. Marly stood, as did Jeff and Sarah. As we went to exit the room, I saw Elder Timothy making a bee line towards me. I sighed inwardly, as I tried to avoid him. He sped up blocking my exit. “What is the meaning of this?” I asked Timothy. “You know damn well what the meaning is. Why have you shut Jenna out? As the Luna of this Pack, the

Marly POV I stretched, feeling delicious soreness between my legs. Every minute with Carson was heaven, and I was grateful to the Moon Goddess for bringing him to me. I reached over to Carson’s side of the bed and was disappointed when I felt an empty space. I opened my eyes and looked around. Carson was not here. As I was about to call out to him, the washroom door opened, and Carson walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist. With a pout, I looked at him, “I wanted to have a shower with you,” I said. Carson looked up, not realizing I was awake. He smiled as he came over and gave me a good morning kiss that curled my toes. ‘We will shower together later; I need to get to the training grounds,” he said. I looked at him, “When will I start training?” I asked excitedly, as I swung my feet out of the bed. I was a little embarrassed at being naked, but Carson came up to stand in front of me, “Never be embarrassed in fro

Carson POV I waited for confirmation from our witch, that a spell had been placed on the young Alpha. Receiving confirmation, I looked to Marly, seeing her asleep in bed. She was exhausted, and I had laid with her until she fell asleep. I shut the door to our room, and went to open the main door, allowing Jeff and Sarah to enter. “What did you find?” I asked softly. They recognized the need to be quiet, and spoke quietly as well. “Jenna and Elder Timothy are suspect; but Jenna did only visit the new mom today at the hospital. Elder Timothy tried to get in to see Alpha Maxwell, but was not permitted in,” he shared. “What does he want with the Alpha?” I considered, as we all sat down in the sitting area. “Sarah, does anything stand out to you?” I asked, knowing she had more knowledge of the Alpha. “The only thing he could want with Maxwell would be to build an alliance,” she suggested. “An alliance how?” I q

Marly POV I had fear racing through my body. I knew this was necessary, but I also knew it was going to result in more challenges. Challenges I was not prepared to face. I knew Carson was strong, and would be prepared to fight for us, but was I strong enough to fight for us as well? “You are strong enough,” Layla assured me in my mind. “What good is being able to read someone’s past, if I cannot get close enough to them?” I questioned. “Marly, seeing the past is but one of your talents. Talents grow with the person and the wolf. You need to gain confidence in your abilities. You are more than you believe you are,” she shared with me. “What does that mean?” I asked, curious about what the future held. “I cannot tell you any more than that. Just trust me and promise me that you will fight for our future,” she said, as she slipped back in my mind. As if the conversation ended, I realized we were at the hospital doors.

Carson POV I took Marly’s hand and knew she was reluctant to go and see her ex-mate. “I will not leave you,” I promised her again as she went with me out the pack house door and towards the hospital. “I could wait in the hall for you,” she suggested, as I shook my head. “Until this is figured out, I am not letting you out of my sight,” I told her. We walked into the hospital, in time to see Jenna and Elder Timothy leaving the hospital. “What the hell are you two doing here?” I demanded. Jenna looked to Timothy, who simply shook his head, “We were visiting a new mother,” he advised. “Why would an Elder take on that responsibility?” I questioned, knowing they were both full of shit. No newborns had been brought into this world. I would have been advised. “As Luna, I take my responsibilities seriously,” Jenna replied, sounding offended at my lack of compassion. As I left them both, with Marly close at my side, I saw the doctor,

Marly POV “You are the missing sister,” I replied, watching her reaction. She looked embarrassed, ashamed and then angry. “I am hardly missing,” she stated, as she stared at me defiantly, continuing to look after Maxwell. “Why did you kidnap me?” I asked, watching her reaction. She looked at me with anger, “Your mate has my father; therefore, until your mate gives him back, you will suffer,” she said, as she turned her glare on Carson. I looked to Carson. They did not realize their father was dead. I looked to her, “Maxwell knows your father is dead,” I told her softly. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, “No, that is not true,” she whispered. “It is true. Ask him,” I encouraged her. She looked down to Maxwell. His eyes were closed, but she nudged him to open his eyes. The lies were evident on his face, “I am sorry,” he said, as the young woman started to cry.“Your father was evil and had to die,” Carson responded, n

Marly POV I could not open my eyes from the pain in my head. What had happened? I had been hit, and I blacked out. But not before I saw her. I was still confused about what had happened, but I needed to open my eyes and figure out where I was. As I opened my eyes, I realized it was pitch black. I was trapped in something. I paused and listened for clues as to where I was. I was moving, but the air was stuffy. I could hear people talking but could not make out what they were saying. I groaned as I tried to focus. I felt the movement slow down and then speed up again. A vehicle. I am in the trunk of a vehicle, I realize. Where are they taking me and why? I cannot sit here and wait for them to stop. I need to try and get out of here. I feel around, trying to feel for a weapon or something I can use if they stop suddenly. Finding nothing, I realize I will need to be the weapon. “I am with you, Marly,”
