Sierra's POV

"Sierra wake up,its nine in the morning already "I hear someone talking.

I opened my eyes to see who was talking and it was my mother. "Good morning mother"I said to her

"Good morning to you too,you need to get ready for the engagement, they are coming over by Ten and this is already nine"She said"And I brought you the dress you will be wearing, get ready quickly and meet us downstairs"she talked anxiously. Her face was swollen and her eyes was puffy,It showed that my mom cried all night because of me. I thought about what Mia told me last night after we hanged up the call, and she was right, this is my new reality and I have to make do with it any how I can without troubling my mother and sister.

"Mom,look at me,I know you are worried about me, about what Lucas and his father might do to me, but I do not want you to worry about that,I will be fine mom"I told her.

"How will you be fine?you do not even stand a chance against them,I begged your father to not let you marry in to their family, but he won't listen to me,I don't know what else I can do,I feel like I have failed you as a mother my child "she said sobbing profusely.

"No mother, you have not failed me, you are the best mother a child can ever ask for,you care for me than you do for yourself,I could not ask for more, and I promise you that I will be fine,I do not want you to worry about me,so I will go to the party and show them the daughter my mother raised"I said.

"Okay "she chuckled wiping her tears.

"Mom,can you please tell Penelope to come to my room"I said to her as she was on her way out of my room.

"Alright darling, get ready quickly"she said as she walked to the door.

I looked at myself in the mirror and I looked so awful and disheveled,I went into the bathroom to take my bath and clear my head.

Immediately I finished dressing up,I heard a knock on my door. I knew it was my sister since I had asked my mother to ask her to come to me when she was leaving my room. I felt bad for how I left things with my sister last night,I took out my angry on her which was bad as she was just worried about me.

"You can come in" I said to her.

  She opened the door.

  "Good morning"I said to her.

"Wow,you look beautiful sister,in your dress" she said to me. She looked so angry at me but also with pity, she looked so gloomy

  "Thank you"I told her.

The situation feels really weird as we are both just looking around the room avoiding eye contact with each other.

"I am sorry" I blurted out " I was wrong to talk to you like that,I know that you were just worry about me and what will become of me and I lashed out my anger infact all of emotions at that moment on you,and I am really sorry for that" I said.

"It's fine, I know you were angry yesterday night and I understand but I expected you to let me know how you feel,we are supposed to be there for each other but instead you shut me out,I also just want what is best for you ,and you are not letting me in and I blame myself for this situation you are in because I know that you could have left after you went to college but you did not because you were worried about what would become of me after you had left,so you would rather be exposed to all of this than to let me be, you do not know but all of this, your protection ,it makes me feel responsible for all of your misery, you make me feel responsible for all of it,and you shut me out last night because you knew you would not have been in this situation if not for me" She spoke frankly with tear running down her face.

"And I don't want you to make decisions about your life with me in your mind always,I wish I had a way to stop this but I am incompetent, their is nothing I can do"Her voice was choked with rage as she lashed out, unable to stop the tears of frustration.

I rushed to her side, held her face and told her "No,no,no I never want you to ever feel like that again, you are never a liability to me, even if you are not in the picture,I will still get married, that is Dad's decision,it has nothing to do with you and I will always consider you, you are my little sister and I care about you, your happiness and your well being. And I'm really sorry for shutting you out last night, I was just overwhelmed with the news and you were asking me to much questions that was why I blew out."

"I'm sorry" I said to her as I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tightly.

"You don't hate me?” she said wiping her tears.

  "No,I don't ,never,why would I?" I asked her candidly.

"I just thought you did" she said.

"No I don't and I would never, and even if I had run in college, father would have sent men after me and they would have caught me,we both know father would not want to lose his price" I replied jokingly.

My door was knocked on by my mother.

"Are you done dressing, you need to do you hair and makeup ,the stylists are around "My mother said.

"Ok mother,I will meet you shortly "I said to her.

"Let's go meet them"I told my sister.

  "ok"She replied.

"we are good , right?"I asked her.

  "Yes,we are" she said.

"I love you so much "I said to her.

"I love you too" She said back to me.

  • The Mafia Boss Obsession    Chapter 29

SIERRA POV Three days had passed since my conversation with Lucas. Three days since I walked out of his office feeling like my entire understanding of my father had been ripped apart. I still hadn’t completely recovered from it. I had barely spoken to my father since then. Not that he wanted to speak to me except it had to do with the wedding. Not because I hated him. That was the confusing part. I didn’t hate him. I was angry. Hurt. Disappointed. But somewhere underneath all of that, there I am still the little girl who remembered him holding her hand while crossing the street. The little girl who used to believe her father could do no wrong. The little girl whose her father was always the hero. Maybe that was why his betrayal hurt so much.

  • The Mafia Boss Obsession    Chapter 28

LUCAS POV Three days had passed since Sierra came to my office. Three days since I had watched the realization of what her father had done settle across her face. I should have forgotten about it. But I couldn’t. Instead, I found myself thinking about her more than I cared to admit. Not because I felt sorry for her. At least, that was what I told myself. I had seen plenty of people make deals they regretted some didn’t regret. I had seen fathers sacrifice sons, brothers betray brothers, and men sell their closest friends for money. Edward was no different. He had simply found a different currency. His daughter. I sat behind my desk, staring at the report in front of me. The warehouse had been quiet for the last two days. Too quiet. No unusual mo

LUCAS POV A few seconds later, the door opened again. And Sierra walked into the room. My eyes moved over her before I could stop them. She wore a top and trouser. The top hugged her body perfectly, following the curve of her waist and the trouser highlighting the shape of her hips. It was elegant, but far more revealing than necessary for a visit to my office. The fabric clung to her in all the right places, drawing attention to every curve she seemed completely unaware she was displaying. I tried to look away. I failed. My gaze lingered longer than it should have, tracing the way the dress shaped her figure before slowly moving back to her face. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. So she had finally decided to do what her father asked of her. He had sent her here to seduce me and apparently not subtle ab

LUCAS POVThe report didn't make sense. The numbers didn’t make sense.I stared at the report spread across my desk, my fingers tapping slowly against the polished wood.Three shipments. All through the same routes.Three different dates.Yet whoever was watching them had made the same mistake. They had followed the same pattern. My eyes narrowed.I picked up the first report and read it again. The shipment had left the southern warehouse at 11:40 p.m.It was supposed to go through the western warehouse but it was being followed so I changed the route. It was supposed to reach the harbor by 2:00 a.m.It never did.It was an hour late. The second shipment had followed almost the exact same route two weeks later. And the third…The third had been almost two hours late. Someone was studying my shipment patterns. That wasn’t unusual. In my world, people were always watching.Competitors wanted information. Enemies wanted weaknesses. Men who wanted what belonged to me were constantly s

SIERRA POV “Yes.” His answer came so quickly and coldly that it hurt even more. I looked at him. There wasn’t even a hint of regret in his eyes. “And that is why you will do everything I ask of you,” he added. I stared at him for a long moment. I wanted to scream. I wanted to tell him that I wasn’t a property. Neither his nor my father’s. That I wasn’t something to sell and be bought. That Lucas had no right to own me. But then I remembered the man he had killed. I remembered exactly what Lucas was capable of.

  • The Mafia Boss Obsession    Chapter 24

SIERRA POV “I told you before, my father asked me to come,” I said smugly. Lucas stared at me for a few seconds, his expression unreadable. Then his jaw tightened. “Why don’t you drop that bullshit?” My smugness immediately disappeared. “You are here because your father wants to use you to control me,” he said, his voice low and serious. “But that wouldn’t work.” I swallowed. “So…” He leaned back slightly, his eyes never leaving mine. “DO NOT LIE TO ME and tell me what you know about it.” The look on his face made something inside me freeze. For a brief moment, I was no longer sitting across from Lucas. I was back at the Lucchese wedding ceremony. Back to the night I had witnessed him kill a man at a ceremony. The scream of the man he stabbed with a cutlery.
