Chapter 3

Terrence POV

I AM BACK at the table where I sit earlier, after Ayiesha and I had an argument earlier.

“Where is your wife, Mr. Alvarez?” an old businessman asked me. I know this man.

He tried to hit my wife. I can’t blame them either. Ayiesha had a beauty that anyone can attract and I’m one of them. But, I am still lucky to have her. I am lucky to be her husband.

“She’s home now. She’s tired or maybe pregnant,” I answered reluctantly. Especially since there’s no point in talking about it.

“Hopefully, and so you have now an heir.” The old man smiled.

“I hope so.”

But, sad to say, Ayiesha can’t be pregnant. I do not know. We’ve been together for four years, we’ve been married for four years, we have sex every night, as long as I want and she wants, she still can’t get pregnant. Even though she is still my fiancee, something is happening to us. Maybe it’s because of what happened to her before.

“Hi, gentleman!” Greetings of the newcomer.

“Oh! Hi, Terrence. Long time no see,” she smiled. My forehead furrowed. I don’t know this woman.

“Do I know you?” I asked her.

“It’s Adelaine. You forgot about me already? You hurt my feelings, Terrence.” I was a little surprised. The person in front of me is my childhood friend. I haven’t seen her in years.

“Wow, I didn’t recognize you right away. I’m sorry.” I apologize to her.

“That hurt, you know what? Didn’t you see me when I was introduced earlier as a host of this party? Your wife is still fine. I met her right away!” her passion said.

“Did you meet my wife?” I ask her.

“Yes, earlier in the restroom.”

I just nodded. That’s why Ayiesha is having a tantrum like that. I looked at my watch on my arm. It’s 9 o’clock. Ayiesha must have arrived by now.

“Oh! Where are you going, Terrence?” she asked me.

“Come home. My wife is the only one in the house,” I said.

I left the venue. I call Mang Luis. “Mang Luis. Get me here in the parking lot,” I ordered our driver. Soon my car arrived.

I wondered. “Mang Luis. You didn’t fetch Ayiesha?”

Mang Luis turned to me. His forehead furrowed. “Ma’am didn’t come, Sir. I was waiting for her earlier in the parking lot.” My forehead furrowed. I was suddenly nervous about what he said.

I called home. “Hello,” replied the one on the other line.

“Is Ayiesha there?”

“Oh, she hasn’t come home yet, Sir Terrence.” Manang answered immediately.

“All right, Manang.” I put down my cell phone.

“Where did that woman go? Who’s with him, if Mang Luis didn’t fetch her,” I said to myself.

“Maybe Earl, Sir,” Mang Luis said.” I saw Earl earlier. Sir. While we were on the road, I kept calling Ayiesha. But she didn’t answer. I was worried about my wife, so I called the organization I belong and to find Ayiesha.

“Ayiesha is missing! Find her,” I commanded them. I’m worried. Where is my wife?

Ayiesha POV

I woke up in a bedroom, and my head hurt. I didn’t drink last night. Why do I have a hangover? I immediately sat up in bed. Terrence was able to go home. I turned to the one on my side.

‘Oh, my God. Who is this?’ My eyes widened when I saw the man next to me on the bed.

I immediately got up and got dressed. Shit, did something happen to us? I can’t remember everything. How did this happen? How can I tell this to Terrence? The man turned to me, and I immediately recognized him. I immediately covered my mouth when I recognized him. Earl was our driver. It is possible. I immediately went to the door of this room and was about to open it when somebody opened it.

“Terrence.” I called him. My eyes widened. His serious eyes met mine. It’s a haughty expression. I know it’s not fun to see. Who would be happy that your wife is with another man in bed?

He entered the room and immediately recognized his sight. Her eyes went to the man, who was asleep and still naked.

“What is the meaning of this Ayiesha!” he said and it made me want to cry. His voice was like thunder. The man woke up and looked at the man furiously.

“Let me explain, Terrence. It’s not what you think. I don’t know. I don’t know how I got here.” My eyes are starting to water. I’m nervous. I know how angry Terrence is.

He was angry when he looked at me. “Let’s go home,” he coldly said. But before he could leave completely, he gave an order to his men. I was immediately nervous for the man who was now in bed. “Get him and lock him in the hideout,” he ordered his men, and we left that room. I immediately followed him.

“Love!” I attempted to talk to him. I want to explain. But he wouldn’t listen to me. “Love, please. I don’t really know how I got there.” I explained to him. “All I know is that I was in the car last night. I felt dizzy and fell asleep. When I woke up, that’s it.”

He cut off what I was about to say when he shouted. “Just shut up, okay? Shut the fuck up!” he shouted at me. I immediately burst into tears because of his shout. I squeezed into the window of our car. When we got home, he immediately went down and went straight upstairs.

“Terrence. Let’s talk! Listen to me.” I chased him. I caught up with him in our room.

She took off her clothes one by one. “Love, please. I really don’t know. All I know is I slept last night, but when I woke up, I was already in that room.” I explained to him again.

“You think I’ll believe you?” He surprised me with what he said. I can’t believe what comes out of his mouth. I thought he trusted me. But no. I thought he believed me.

“When, Ayiesha?” he asked me. “How long have you been cheating on me and fooled me?” he shouted. I jumped in no time.

I shook. “No, I’m not fooling you and I am not cheating, Terrence. I love you so much! Believe me please,” I cried, and pleaded to him, so he could believe in me.

I approached him and held his arms. But he immediately dismissed it.

“Then what I saw earlier? What did I see? Damn it Ayiesha. I love you, I chose you. But what is this? Are you making fun of me? You cried last night, the one you said last night? Is that just a drama?” He asked me angrily. I just shake my head and answer him.

“I’m not making fun of you. I don’t know why I was there. I can’t remember. All I know is, I fell asleep in the car. When I woke up, I was already in that room. It wasn’t a drama last night, Terrence. I love you to the point that I will die if I lose you,“ I said in tears. Why doesn’t he believe me? Does it mean he no longer trusts me? Doesn’t he love me anymore?

He groped and pulled my arm. “Who are you kidding, Ayiesha? Do you think I’ll believe you? Fuck you! I regret that I love you?” What he said surprised me. It hurt me big time. I couldn’t believe what he said. Why does he still love me? It was seeping into my heart and mind and seemed to crush me.

“So, you regret that you loved me?” I said, while crying. I asked him a question. He said something that hurt me. I love him, but why is he like that?

“Yes, I regret it. I regret that I love you.” My eyes widened and my lips parted. “And I wish I just loved Adelaine and not you.” He said to me seriously and coldly. I was shocked by what he revealed.

I laughed. I turned my back on him. The pain of what he said made me want to cry. When I confronted him, I gave him a slap. “You’re an asshole!” I said angrily to him.

I punched his chest. “I love you, you know that. But since the truth came out into your mouth. You’re exaggerating this issue, even if you shouldn’t. Because of that, Adelaine.” I point to nothingness. “You want to go with her? You want to go back to her? Go! I’ll let you. You don’t believe me, do you? You regret that you loved me, don’t you?” I cried. I threw away his hand that was on my arm. Even though it was painful and I endured just to get rid of him.

“This is also what I want to say. I hope I didn’t meet you from the beginning. If I only knew it was coming, I hope you wouldn’t come into my life,” I sobbed. “Why are you like that? Why are you hurting me like this? Why, Terrence?” I cried even more because of the mixture of pain and grief. I can no longer understand how I feel right now. It was mixed.

I looked at him, even with tears in my eyes. “This is what you want, isn’t it? Fine. Let’s separate! Take your woman with you,” I said to him, turning my back on him. But before I could get out of front of him, he immediately pulled my arm.

“And you think I’ll let you? No, bear with me,” he said angrily to me.

“What else can you gain from me? Didn’t you say you’d regret because you loved me? You wish that you just chose Adelaine and not me? You don’t believe me, do you? It was tiring to explain to someone who’s closed their mind. And I know you’re just using me. Because that’s the truth.“ I shout at him. “And I also regret why I let myself fall for you.”

“Stay, you’re not leaving!” he said emphatically. He looked at me with angry eyes.

“No, I’m leaving.” I threw away my arm that he was holding. He let me go. I immediately left in front of him.

I left the room and went downstairs. I can’t stop myself from choking. I immediately left the mansion.

Terrence POV

I can handle it. Shit, fuck this life. I combed my hand through my hair. Why is this happening in my life? Why, even now, am I happy with Ayiesha?

“You won’t chase her.” I didn’t look at her.

“I’ll let her go first. I know where she was going.”

“Maybe what you’re accusing her isn’t true. Maybe your wife is in the frame-up, Terrence.” I looked up at Nanay Cecil.

“I hope so! That’s what I saw earlier. And I can’t afford to lose Ayiesha. I love my wife. I might die. I regret why I told her that.” I just combed my hair. I leaned on the end of the bed.

Adelaine POV

“Good and you escaped Terrence’s men,” I said to Earl.

Terrence’s men chase him.

“I’m pretty easy on how to escape.” he said and leaned his back against the sofa.

“And bravo, Earl. Good job. Ayiesha is gone now. And Terrence will be mine. Soon.” I laughed. “I am sure right now that woman is out of Terrence’s life.” I smile wickedly.

“I think you’re wrong, cause what I can see. Sir Terrence loves Ma’am Ayiesha very much,” he said. I stared at him.

“Shut up, Earl!” I retorted. He ruined my plan and my mood.

He stood up. “I’m leaving. We both quit,” he told me.

“Okay.” I drank the wine from my glass. I want to celebrate. I win. Now Terrence will be mine. I managed to get Ayiesha out of Terrence’s life.

My plan is now successful. I smell my victory. I grinned and sipped the wine in my glass.
