Chapter 43

I stayed at the doorside letting the guards check the room first. I wanted to be alone, so I could make some calls. It would take me some days.

"All clear," They said in robotic tones to each other.

My eyes darted around. There was no window. It felt cruel. I wasn't minding managing until Duante came back. They shuffled out of the room immediately.

"It's safe. Don't go anywhere without one of us." Rocky said..

I glanced at Assassin. He was a person of a few words. "Don't disturb me now." Flattening my lips, I strolled in the room.

I clicked the lock and rested my forehead against it, closing my eyes. A tear slid down my cheek. I swiped it away immediately. I didn't have time for this. I slid my hand in my jeans pocket and took out the phone. Tapping multiple times, I called her. I hadn't received a single message from her. That was quite unsettling. This happened only when she was in trouble. I was grateful they didn't take my phone.
