A look of fear was plastered on Alessia’s face as she stared at me. I didn’t expect her to appear out of the blue. I had just finished interrogating the asshole and was washing away the blood from his bruised body when Alessia barged in. “Are you hurt?” was her first question.

“What are you doing here?” I threw back instead. The water washed away the blood, and I covered up my hand with a small towel so she wouldn’t get suspicious. I didn’t want her to know anything, to know there was a basement inside my room.

I was a bit startled when I turned around and found her near me. “Why don’t you treat the wound?” For some reason, irritation coursed through me. I clenched my jaw. “That is none of your business. Get out of here,” I almost hissed out.

Yet, she didn’t move an inch. Her eyes were still fixated on my hand. “Let me see,” she said, but I turned my back to her fished out my pocket knife, and slid my palms. Blood immediately started gushing out. A light hiss escaped me.
