A loud howl woke Kira up, her eyes widened in shock as she wondered what the sound was but everything that happened began spiraling in her head.
It made her sit up from the bed in shock, her eyes settling on the small room she was in. The walls were painted white, there were weird white and black medical posters and some kind of equipment around. There was a chandelier above her, and carpeted floors, and behind her was the window with white curtains swaying back and forth due to the wind coming in.She began hearing the audible voices of a man and a woman."You're sure she's fine? She literally died, doctor. You announced it yourself." It was the voice of the man who called her princess."I checked her vitals, blood pressure, her heart rate..., it's all good, Alpha Mey. It's a miracle that she's alive." The woman's voice was also familiar. She was the first voice she heard when she woke up.Kira ran her hand through her hair, not understanding an inkling of what was happening. She was in a foreign territory. She looked around. A place she's gonna have to escape from, ASAP.Her gaze suddenly met an unfamiliar face. Beautiful cat-shaped hazel eyes, a small oval-shaped face, long black hair, full eyebrows, and a very innocent, cute face. She tilted her head and it followed, tilted her head again to the other side and it followed again. She placed her hand on her face and it reflected. Her mouth opened in shock as it confirmed it was really how she looks now.She was in someone else's body. The body of a princess who's younger than her. A princess who looked to be in her late teen or early twenties. What really happened to her?She knew she was dropped into the ocean and she literally saw her life dissipating only to wake up in another life in another person's body. She shook her head, not sure she could handle it. She couldn't. She needs to escape. Maybe when she drowns herself again, then she can wake up in her world. That could work.Although, she'll just end up dead cause she literally died. She died and the princess did too.She looked up as the door opened, causing her to shift back, the wall becoming a barrier."I don't know why you'd do this to yourself, Kara. You scared everyone."Kira just bobbed her head, looking at him since she had no idea who he was.'He's your father.' She heard making her look around in confusion, wondering where the voice came from. She blinked with a frown."Are you okay, Kara?" Her father asked worriedly.Kira looked at him and sighed. "Well, I uh, I think so." She told him, deciding to play along. Her father nodded and sat on the bed facing her. "I know how overwhelming things are for you but you didn't have to do what you did, Kara. Killing yourself wasn't necessary."Kira just kept quiet. Although, she wondered why the princess would kill herself."I know getting married to King Alpha Arthur Vermont...""What?" Kira blurted out. Not sure she heard well."Your marriage to Alpha Arthur Vermont." He pointed out."I'm getting married to someone?" She questioned in disbelief.'Yes, you are.' A voice sounded in her head again making her frown. Her father sighed, looking at her worried. "Please, don't tell me you forgot about that or you're probably just pretending. And besides, you never once told me you were against the marriage."Kira kept a frown on her face since the confusion in her was difficult to hide. Her head was spiraling. She hasn't even come to terms with how she became what she is but she's hearing she's getting married? No fucking way."The doctor said you'll get better. I was informed about King Vermont's arrival today, I don't know if he has an idea of what you did. I'm sorry but getting married to him is essential for our kingdom. Do you understand?"Kira gave him a blank look, her mouth set in a hard line, refusing to nod or pretend that she was okay with whatever he was spouting. She's definitely escaping....Catherine was already home and in her room, laying on her bed and daydreaming about King Vermont. Those beautiful indigo eyes, long hair that she wished to have the right to rake her hands through, his body structure, broad shoulders, muscles, pecs, everything about him, she wanted it.She rejected her poor mate because of him.He was every princess's dream and in a way, due to the connection Mey kingdom has with the Vermonts, they were lucky that one of them could be given to him for marriage but sadly, he chose Kara. Now that Kara is dead, he'll have no choice but to choose her to take Kara's place. She couldn't wait for when they'll officially get married. She's beginning to feel like the happiest person in the whole world.A knock sounded on her door causing her to look away from her ceiling at the door. "Come in." She hollered and her personal maid, Davina walked inside, her two hands clasped in front of her, her head ducked as she took slow steps to her princess. "You're back, mistress."Catherine nodded, sitting up. "Why? Did anyone look for me?"She heard her wolf, Kat chuckle. 'Look for you? Who would when they're all just gonna be focused on the fact that Kara's dead.'Davina nodded. "The Alpha asked at a time, I lied saying you were at the riverside."Catherine equally nodded. "Well good. So what's going on? I guess I'm gonna have to see what's going on with my sister now that she's dead."Davina sighed and shook her head. "Actually, she's not dead."Catherine rose a brow, a chuckle escaping her. "What?""She's alive, my lady. She suddenly woke up last night not too long after you left for the journey. She spent the whole night in the infirmary. She's awake now and will soon be taken to her room." Davina disclosed.Catherine could only gape at the news. "That's...that's impossible. She was dead. Lifeless. Saw it myself. How is she alive?"Davina shook her head. "No one knows, mistress. It was a shock when she woke up. A miracle some said."Catherine looked away in deep thought, her eyes widened in wonder. She blinked with a frown and stood up from the bed wanting to see for herself, then she paused and turned back toward her bed, remembering something. A wave of uneasiness engulfed her in one fell swoop. She sat on her bed, her heart beginning to pound in her chest. "So...so, you're saying she's alive?" She kept saying the word, finding it totally unbelievable.Davina nodded. "Yes, my lady.""Did she...did she say anything? Can she talk?" Catherine interrogated.Davina raised her eyeballs to catch a glance at her princess but she couldn't really see since her head was still ducked. "Yes she can but I don't know if she said anything."Catherine let out a shaky breath, beginning to get very dizzy. "O...okay. You can leave." She dismissed.Davina bobbed her head slowly, turned, and left the room.Catherine blinked, looking away at nothing in particular. "What's happening?"'No idea, Cat. We both saw her dead.'Catherine shook her head. 'Not good, Kat. This is bad. I won't be able to get him anymore. If he comes, he'll see she's still alive and proceed to marry her.''Very sad, Cat. Very very sad." Her wolf said and went to relax at the back of her head.Catherine groaned in frustration and collapsed on the bed.Hearing about the stables, Kira was interested and she wanted Henrietta to show her as soon as possible but she was willing to take things easy. The day was coming to a slow end so she said her goodbyes to Henrietta so she could freshen up and get ready to eat.Kira was walking down the hallway lost in thought when she suddenly bumped into Jennifer, who was holding a stack of papers. The papers went flying, and Jennifer scrambled to pick them up."Watch where you're going!" Jennifer snapped."Oops, I wasn't paying attention," Kira replied, trying to be conciliatory.Jennifer gathered her papers, and her eyes narrowed as she stood up straight. "I heard what you did with the old queen. You turned down her offer to –" She looked around in fear of any listening voices. "To help bring down Arthur." She whispered."And what's it to you?"I am Prince Kevin's mate! The rightful king.""And so?" Kira questioned her with an 'I don't care' attitude."You made a promise to work with us. There was
King Arthur's office was a spacious room situated at the top of the palace, offering a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. The walls were lined with bookshelves and various maps and charts, hinting at the many responsibilities that fell on his shoulders as both a pack leader and a king. A large wooden desk dominated the center of the room, strewn with papers and scrolls, and several comfortable-looking armchairs were arranged around a small fireplace in the corner. When Kira entered, she found Arthur hunched over his desk, poring over a stack of reports and memos. He was dressed in his usual attire of a simple tunic and trousers, but his expression was tense and focused as he worked through the various duties that came with his position.Kira cleared her throat, announcing her presence, and Arthur looked up, his features softening slightly when he saw her. "Kara," he said, rising from his chair and crossing the room to greet her. "What brings you here?"Kira hesitated, fee
As Kira walked through the garden, she was struck by its beauty. The garden was filled with vibrant colors and sweet fragrances, and the air was thick with the hum of bees and the chirping of birds. The garden was meticulously maintained, with trimmed hedges, blooming flowers of every color, and an array of fruit trees. There was a serene pond in the center of the garden, surrounded by large rocks and pebbles. The water was crystal clear, and Kira could see the fish swimming beneath the surface. 'If only she could enter it.' She thought. The garden was a peaceful oasis, with benches and small tables scattered throughout, inviting visitors to sit and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. As Kira walked further into the garden, she saw a small gazebo off in the distance. The gazebo was covered in vines and flowers, and the sun shone through the leaves, casting a dappled pattern on the ground.Kira couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty of the garden. It was as if she had stepped
Kira heard another knock on her door and wondered who it was this time. "Come in if you're a reasonable person," She said, half expecting it was Arthur coming back to apologize for his mannerless behavior. The door opened and Henrietta, followed by Alice Raymond and Mabel Smith entered with big smiles on their faces."Hope we're reasonable people," Alice said.Kirw frowned at them and shrugged. "Well, I wouldn't know. Are you?"They chuckled awkwardly and Mabel said. "Well, we just came to check on you. We want to take you around the palace, what do you think?"Kira beamed. "I think it would be phenomenal!"They all looked at themselves in confusion. And as they looked at each other in confusion, their brows furrowed in puzzlement. They exchanged a quick glance, trying to communicate without words.Kira could see that their expressions and body language conveyed a sense of bewilderment and helplessness, as they tried to make sense of something that was beyond their understanding. She
As Kira woke up to a new day, she rubbed her eyes and looked around the room, still feeling disoriented. The luxurious room, the soft bed, and the unfamiliar surroundings all reminded her that she was no longer in the world she knew. Her mind quickly went to escape once more. She knew she had to get out of this place as soon as possible, but the question was how? She had no idea how to navigate this new world, let alone find a way to escape from the kingdom.Kira got up from the bed, freshened up, dressed up, and went to the window. She looked outside, observing the people walking around the castle grounds. It was all so different from what she was used to. She missed the familiar sound of the city and the organized chaos of the mafia world. Now that she was here with no place to go and no idea where Aryann is, she realized she was in for a very long and boring life if she didn't find a way out as soon as possible. There was no television to watch, no phone or laptop, no place that sh
King Arthur looked out the window in his office. The city was dark except for a few lights here and there from torches and lanterns.A lot was going through his mind, mostly about his new bride and the plan his step mother and step brother have for her. He wondered if it could work.He was in doubt that his queen would fall for their antics. Seeing how she was, he was sure they would be disappointed."Alpha Vermont."Then his door opened, and his Beta and Gamma who are equally his best friends entered. They were childhood friends and they trained together since when they were six.As best friends, he already stamped it that when he became king, he would keep them side by side with him. Daring the fact that Lance Fell's offspring was meant to be the next beta. They just had to accept what he wanted. It was his choice and order."Your bride is ready to meet the royals," Gamma Edwin informed.King Arthur nodded with his back still turned to them. "Anything else?""Miss Karina was assigne
Kira was led to a room far bigger and well-arranged compared to the one she had in the other kingdom. The room was almost empty, left with a king-sized bed and dressing table with a mirror on the wall. The similarity of her modern room to this one is that it was on the third floor which means she could clearly see the city through the window even though the view of the city is not that enticing compared to the one in her world.Thinking about that, she approached the window as a thought came to mind. The door behind her opened and a girl entered but she didn't care to spare a glance cause she was more focused on the plan she was suddenly imbued with."My lady,"'I can use this window to escape when the need arises.' Kira thought to herself. She just needed to try, plus she was gonna need a rope to help her down. As a Mafia, she has engaged herself in so many dangerous activities. She made sure there was nothing she was lacking on, even jumping from a building was an easy feat for her.
"We are about to enter the city!" Princess Henrietta announced with excitement in her voice as she looked outside the window of the carriage.Out of curiosity, Kira quickly moved the other window to look out, not minding that King Arthur was there.Unlike the city they were coming from, there was no tall city wall or gate. People were moving around freely like they had no care of the world. There was an undertone of arrogance to it, almost as though they were daring other kingdoms to attack them. She noticed how the people went on their knees and bowed their heads as they saw the carriage and she looked at King Arthur, realizing he must have been some kind of scary king, especially remembering how the guests at their wedding behaved. They were all scared of him."Don't you think your face is too close or do you have no problem kissing me at this early stage of our marriage?" Arthur teased with his mouth curled up.Kira blinked and sat back down. She scoffed and glanced at him. He sure
Kira had that fluttering nervous feeling in her belly as she was led outside with her boxes. She was going home with her husband. She has never in her life felt as confused and clueless the way she was at that moment, especially since she didn't know what she was gonna expect there."Are you always this absent-minded or am I to assume that you're only like this when you're around me?" King Arthur who was standing beside one of the carriages caught in her thoughts as he watched Kira who was standing there looking at the carriages absentmindedly. She snapped her head up when she heard the familiar voice of King Arthur. She didn't realize they'd gotten to the carriages. She eyed him unpleasantly. If only he had canceled the marriage."Don't talk to me." She snapped at him.The guards around tried not to react even though they were surprised, but then again, she has done worse inside so it was expected."We're riding together." A young feminine voice informed her from within the carriage.
