The car drove for two hours before it stopped at an abandoned warehouse on the edge of the industrial district where everything smelled like rust and old oil and things that had been left to rot.

The driver did not say a word the entire time and when we arrived they just pointed at a door and drove away before I could ask any questions.

I stood there with my bag in one hand and my phone in the other and considered turning around and walking back to civilization but before I could make that decision the door opened and someone stepped out.

"Rin Nakamura," the person said and I recognized the voice from the audio recording. "I have been waiting to meet you properly."

She was tall and thin with gray hair pulled back in a tight bun and she had the kind of face that made you think she had never smiled in her entire life. She was wearing a white lab coat over dark clothes and there was something about the way she moved that reminded me of a predator circling prey.
