5. CEO Luca

They eat silently around the dining room for minutes until Luca was the first to finish his meal.

He had asked Hannah to join them over breakfast and she was happy about the Boss' invitation.

Luca would never invite the maids to join him over the table but today she was lucky.

And why is that?

She did a good job on Linda and he believed she would do the same while he's away to work.

Hannah was one of his best maids who happened to be among the first batch he employed on the opening of his glass villa.

She was diligent and hardworking so far.

The other maids were jealous and occasionally peeped from behind the wall to see her dining with the boss and his new girlfriend, so they believed her to be.

Luca had a history of bringing various women to his villa but he never dine with them.

Linda barely eat and played with her spoon occasionally.

Hannah would encourage her to try more and she would continue.

Luca on his path was more interested in her memories getting restored and then he could begin questioning her.

She confronted him for staring at her minutes ago and it still sounded funny in his ears.

Were her female senses finally coming to play?

Then the memories should come in no time.

He got to his feet and wiped his mouth and that seemed to catch her attention as she tilt to him.

Luca said firmly, "I'll be away for the day, Hannah will be with you and make sure you don't cause trouble"

He wasn't sure if he was supposed to tell her not to cause trouble but for a mysterious lady from nowhere with no memories, it was important.

She stared down at him and resumed eating her meal.

Linda did not care. Good for her.

Luca beckoned at Hannah," See me outside"

He walked briskly through the exit and looked back to see Linda still eating behind the glass wall.

This was a bad idea. Leaving her to the maid while he left for work but he had no choice.

Taking her with him to the office was not an option either. He had never taken a woman to the office and would not do that now.

That would raise questions, not that he cared.

Hannah halts close to him, "I'm here, Boss Luca"

He turned and place his hand on her shoulder, "You did well this morning"

Hannah forced a smile and nodded, "You pay my salary, I'm just doing my job"

She was employed to work for the boss and there was nothing special about it.

Luca then said to her, "Allow the other maids to do the cleaning for today, keep an eye on Linda while I'm gone, if there's anything suspicious about her, message me immediately or call, and most importantly, don't allow her to leave the villa, call the guards if she insists and if that doesn't work, me "

He had to put preventive measures in place to ensure that she doesn't escape but if she was truly the assassin a part of himself believe her to be then it would be easy for her to leave.

The most effective tool would have been tying her up in his basement until he returns but he had no idea why he wasn't doing that.

Hannah answered confidently, "I'll do just that"

Of course. He paid her salary and if he needed her to spy on the new lady in the house, she would gladly do it.

Linda did not strike her as a troubled person though. She was the quiet dumb lady.

"Good. Did she tell you anything?"

Just now he thought she might have communicated with Hannah since they were both women.

Hannah bit her lower lip, "She asked for your name and I told her, I'm surprised she doesn't know and I know I'm in no position to ask who she is, Boss"

Why would Linda ask for his name from Hannah?

She didn't ask him herself.

Was this her confirming him as her target to be assassinated?

Strange it was but anyways, "Just keep an eye on her for me, I shouldn't stay long at work"

That was right. He changed his mind and needed to deal with Linda's issue.

Keeping a suspected assassin, the prime suspect in the murder of his mother was not advisable.

Everyone in the building was in danger including Hannah.

She said to him," I'll call you if I notice anything strange about her"

Luca was assured that Hannah would play the role of an agent for him.

He vowed in his head to double her next salary. She was a lifesaver.

Luca Antonio got into his waiting rolls-Royce phantom and Jack drove him to the hotel.

Hannah arrived at the building to see Linda writing on her notepad.

As soon as she was done she raised the message for the maid to read.

'I guess you're my babysitter now?'

Luca's rolls-Royce arrived at the entrance of Ocean View hotel only to be surrounded by several reporters who the securities struggled to push away from the vehicle.

Jack seeing this, asked "Boss, should I drive to the VIP parking lot or your private--"

"I'll be just fine here, Jack, turn the vehicle around while I go in, I won't be staying here for long"

The doors unlocked automatically and Luca stepped out. Microphones came swinging from various directions and the noise of the reporters filled the air. He could barely hear anything.

This situation was nothing new.

Reporters always showed up at ocean view after an important meeting or event in his life, they were like pests and he cared less.

He could just ignore them and the securities made sure to force the reporters to give way so the mighty CEO of Ocean View could move freely.

Questions rang from every corner which he didn't bother to listen to until one caught his attention.

"There are rumours that you bid the red star diamond for 500 million, for someone special"

He turned slowly and a part of him was shocked to see the reporter who had asked the question.

Was that why she waited for him the other night? Kimberly.

Now he had no option but to respond because it interested him.

She beamed beautiful smiles at him and brushed her hair with her fingers hoping to catch his attention.

No, she didn't, her question caught his attention instead.

Luca nodded with a proud look, "I got it someone special. She's little, beautiful and loyal, I promised her the red star diamond. Her name is Sonia"

"Sonia?"

The reporters ignored their various questions to concentrate on Kimberly's answered question.

They had no idea that the billionaire CEO had a secret lover who would bid on a 500 million rare diamond for.

She must be a special person and the women felt pretty jealous.

Luca turned from the reporters ignoring the questions that followed when he saw Enid moving down out of the hotel building to welcome him.

He raised hands towards incoming Enid, "Speaking of the angel, that's Sonia"

Some of the reporters quickly moved to question her but the guards didn't let them get to her.

That was their job.

Enid Beneke couldn't help but sigh seeing the crowd that pushed to get to her.

Luca Antonio was good at placing people like her in the crossfire.

Only if the reporters knew she wasn't the Sonia he was referring to.

Enid got to him and handed over the cinnamon-haired cat she was carrying to him.

No one saw the cat at the start because she was on a cinnamon jacket that blend well with the hair of the creature.

That was when the reporters noticed the red diamond necklace around the cat's neck, and then they realized that was Sonia.

What the fvck?

Luca Antonio had made them believe he had a secret lover but it was a fvcking cat.

He got a 500m necklace for the creature. Unbelievable!

Such a lucky little thing that had no idea that its owner was the biggest man in Thorn Hill.

Enid said to him, "Morning Mr Antonio, you're not with your briefcase"

She often took his briefcase whenever she came to welcome him.

Despite her office is on the last floor, she would still take the elevator down if she notices the arrival of the CEO who was good at doubling and tripling her salary many times.

Enid Beneke was a single woman who was always available to manage the hotel and attend meetings for CEO Luca who would seat in his office all day.

He had the money and owned the hotel so he could choose to do whatever he wants.

He responded to her, "I'm not staying here today, I came to sign the important contract documents you talked about last night, you sent it to my mail, right?"

She leaned close and whispered to his ear, "Actually, I marked the contract as invalid this morning, I looked into the background of our new client, The Fernando Group, and they got some really bad stains: money laundering, tax evasion and the list goes on. I figured that we wouldn't want to deal with such a company "

" Good. I guess I'm done for today then "

Enid's eyes widened," You're leaving around? "

Although Luca hardly shows up for meetings and such, he stays long enough in his office signing documents and when he's not, only heaven knows what he does in there.

He answered her," The contract we offered is the only reason I'm here, I got stuffs to attend to.

She apologized quickly," I'm sorry for bringing you down here, Boss, I should have informed you about the latest development"

Luca waved it off with his hand. It was nothing.

"It's alright, Enid, just manage stuff as usual and call me if needs be"

Enid nodded gently and he left immediately ignoring the reporters who had refused to leave.

They thought he was returning to answer their questions but no, he had a greater priority.

Luca was headed for the villa when his phone beeped and he checked to see a message from the maid, Hannah.

He immediately thought that Linda must have done something.

"Drive faster, Jack"

"On it, Boss"

Luca then opened the message and read carefully.

'She's moving around the building and not responding to my questions, should I inform the guards? "

Was she looking for a way to escape from him or--

If she wanted to go, she would have done it already.

The mysterious lady woke up before him and had all the opportunity to leave.

What then is she up to?

He responded to Hannah via text quickly, 'Just keep an eye on her, I'm close now'

Taking a deep breath, he shut his eyes and tightened his fist while making plans in his head.

The prime suspect should not be roaming even if she had Amnesia.

It was time to bind her in his basement and then torture the truth out of her when the memories return.

That was it.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom arrived at the glass villa and barely stopped when Luca rushed out staggering to the ground.

He regained how stamina and raced into the building screaming.

"Hannah!"

There was no response and that got him thinking again.

Did she hurt the poor maid?

He made to race for the room he had let her sleep the previous night when Hannah showed up from the kitchen.

"Hey boss, you're back"

Luca exhaled seeing that she was fine and asked, "Where's she?"

Hannah points into the kitchen and he hurried inside to see Linda seated on the cabinet with her legs crossed.

She was surprised to see him but she was also quick to hide her expression.

Luca finally spoke, "Come with me, Linda, I want to show you something"

She stared suspiciously at him and he wondered if she knew what he was up to.

He then turned to the maid, "Thank you, Hannah, excuse us"

She nodded and left quickly leaving the two to stare endlessly at each other.

He said again, "Come with me, it's okay"

Linda sniffed and jumped down still fixing her gaze on him.

He moved away and she followed slowly behind him.

Luca was supposed to lure her to the basement but she was suspecting something and he couldn't allow her to run again.

He wasn't in the mood to play chase and catch when it could be done easily.

He moved down the hallway with her and finally stopped by a glass door which he pushed open to reveal the empty room which had only a metal chair with straps.

She raised her head to him and her innocent blue eyes bore holes into his face.

The look on Linda's face showed that she was not comfortable with the room.

Luca said coldly, "Sit and let's talk"

She shook her head and his countenance changed instantly.

He gave a dead stare and tightened his fist approaching slowly with a cold look.

There was no choice but to do what was necessary, now or never.

His husk voice sounded, "I won't repeat myself, seat down there"

She looked down at him and slowly dragged her feet to the metal chair where she sat.

Luca sniffed and bent low strapping her hands to the chair arm and then her legs.

Her head was down and her long red hair covered her face so he could not see her countenance.

She was scared of him now.

Luca rose to his feet and said clearly, "When your memories return you'll understand what is happening"

Linda remain in the position and did not even move a finger.

He sighed and turned to leave the room when a female voice sounded behind it. It was weak yet charming and clear.

"You're such an idiot"

Luca couldn't believe his ears. He turned slowly to see the other female in the room but there was no one other than Linda who slowly raised her face and fixed her cold gaze on him.

Maybe he heard the voice in his head and--

Right before him, her soft lips parted ways and words escaped out of her throat.

"You heard me right"

Wasn't she supposed to be dumb?

Linda was actually speaking to him and it wasn't a dream.

Luca realized instantly that she was lying the entire time and pretending to be dumb.

His suspicion was true and she had revealed the truth about herself but why now.

She then asked with a surprised look, "Are you too stunned to speak? Yes, I was never dumb and I never lost a single bit of memory, Luca, right?"

He grinned angrily, "You little liar, there's no escaping me now"

Linda scoffed and cocked her brows, "Says who?"

The strap snapped off her hands and legs and she rose slowly to her feet.

Luca knew deep down that he was not dreaming and it happened.

She was free.

He wasn't with his gun and that was going to be a problem.

The mysterious lady was more than he expected her to be and just maybe be was right.

She was definitely the assassin who murdered Nico Antonio and was here to end him too.

He said calmly to her, "Who the hell are you?"

She responded coldly with no emotion on her face, "I told you already, CEO Luca "
