3. The Mysterious Lady(2)

Luca raced out of the elevator immediately after it stopped at the pool area and followed the path she had taken.

He knew from the beginning that the mysterious lady was more than ordinary and she just confirmed his suspicion but what person jumps from such height and survives?

Anyway, he was glad that she was alive and he would be able to question her but now he had to find the running bitch.

She couldn't have gone far and--

Luca heard a noise coming from behind the glass villa and raced to see two of his guards struggling to hold down the red-haired lady who groaned crazily throwing kicks into the air.

He was relieved to see that his men did a good job, "Good. Hold her down"

One of the guards said quickly to him, "Boss, we found her lurking around naked"

They pinned her face flat to the ground and she continued to struggle with them.

Like a possessed person, she broke from their grip and hit the first man on the throat, the other tried to grab her but she punched his hip which dislocated instantly and he dropped weakly.

Luca watched his trusted guards writhing in pain and crawl away from the mysterious lady who then took a fight stance and tightened her fist now staring at him.

She was ready to fight him.

The moves she used on the guards were quick ones and that proved she was a fighter, probably the assassin that murdered his mother.

She wasn't even ashamed to be naked in front of him.

There was the night robe lying a few meters away from him and he wondered if she took it off or if it was during the struggle with his guards.

Luca decided to act cool, he wasn't ready to chase her again, "I'm a friend, okay? We don't have to fight. Who are you?"

She stared blankly at him and retreated her fist.

He took the night robe and moved towards her, "Put this on, okay? And then we can talk"

He was having a difficult time concentrating as her naked body beckoned at him.

She snatched the clothing from him and wore it then tied the rope around her waist.

He said to her, "Good. No more fighting, no more running. I ask questions and you answer"

The mysterious lady stared at him for a moment and moved towards the glass wall of the villa.

He followed quickly thinking she would run but she didn't.

Instead, her nails grew into thick claws right in front of him and she began to write. He was too dumbfounded to speak.

Nails to claws? He was definitely dreaming.

He was stuck in a nightmare and could not escape.

Luca hit himself on the head and was sure he was awake.

Realizing she was ruining the glass, he said quickly, "Hey, stop what you're do--"

He halts reading what she had written on the glass wall.

'I am dumb, what is this place?'

Luca raised his head to her and she nodded innocently at him.

"Okay, your name is dumb, that's progress, you see....you don't have to run"

She groaned angrily at him and began writing again leaving him confused until she was done.

' I can't speak, you idiot!'

He instantly realized that she hadn't spoken since he found her.

That was what she meant by the groaning the entire time. She was dumb.

Luca scratched his head, "Oh, I'm sorry about that, but you have a name, right?"

She nodded and he exhaled.

The lady tried to write on the wall again but he quickly stopped her, "Hey, no, no no. I'll get you a pen and notepad, this glass cost millions"

She sneered and broke swiftly from his grip.

A dumb assassin? The last thing he expected to find. Luca wasn't even sure if she was the one he was searching for.

Communicating with her would be a big problem but one way or another, she had to answer his questions.

She could write and she wasn't deaf so the problem was half-solved already.

Luca beckoned at her, "Come"

She hesitates for a while and then followed him into the building.

He got a pen and notepad and made her seat on the huge sofa in his living room.

The mysterious lady tilt her head upwards and stared endlessly at the glass chandelier which was swinging graciously.

He snapped in front of her thereby drawing her attention back to him.

Her icy blue eyes gazed directly at his face and he wasn't sure if she was doing it intentionally.

Luca gave her the notepad and pen and began his questioning.

"What's your name?"

She blinked her eyes for five seconds and then looked down at the book where she began to write.

He was glad she was cooperating now but his hope got killed when he read what she wrote.

'I got a blank head, I don't remember anything. I think I'm Linda'

Luca sighed in frustration and pushed his finger through his dry hair.

She is dumb and can't recall anything. So much for the beautiful goddess who arrived from the sky and landed in his pool.

Was this another dead end? If she couldn't recall anything that means she'll not be useful to him.

She looked innocent to be the assassin who murdered his mother but the once with nice faces are often the most dangerous. Just like him.

Maybe if he waited for a while her memory should return and he could then question her.

Luca said calmly, "I'll call you Linda, so tell me, what do you remember?"

She should at least recall something he could start with to trigger her memory.

She shook her head and he sighed in disappointment, "C'mon, try to remember something, I'm trying to help here, you can't just appear nowhere and crash in my pool"

There were strange things about her that he was yet to figure out.

The most important remains how she survived the fall from the roof with no broken bones.

He noticed that she wasn't staggering or acting like she felt pain. Who the hell did he bring into his villa?

Luca raced to his bedroom and retrieved his phone which he unlocked and accessed his gallery scrolling through rows of pictures.

He finally found his mother, Mrs Antonio, beautiful as ever.

Staring at her face brought blissful memories into his head. She was a good mother and he missed her.

He returned to the living room only to find Linda fast asleep on the comfortable sofa.

She took the littlest opportunity to sleep off or maybe she was pretending.

He called her out, "Linda, open your eyes"

Luca shook her body but she only let out groans and continued sleeping.

He was frustrated.

She was going to sleep in the villa now. Wasn't that the initial plan or was he going to throw her into the streets?

Maybe he would decide what to do with her the next day but he couldn't let her sleep here. She could escape. He didn't want the mysterious lady too.

Not until he finds out what she knows about his mother's assassination or if she was responsible.

That got Luca thinking. What if she recognized him and was only pretending so she could escape? He could recall how she took out his best guards but listened to his voice and did not fight him.

She could be a trained assassin and he was the next target but that did not explain her burning hair and every other mystery around her.

He had to keep an eye on her.

Luca carried her in his arms and located one of his rooms in the villa. He couldn't take her to where Kimberly was and then have to answer questions the next morning.

Luca placed her on the bed and felt her breathing on his hand.

She was indeed sleeping and she looked beautiful. He pushed her red hair from her face and exhaled.

How could a human be this pretty? Her face was normal now and no longer how it was at the pool.

She had pale blue skin at that time and he had a lot of questions in his mind about it but now it's flawless.

Luca covered her with the duvet and collapsed into the armchair that was beside the bed.

He was going to watch her through the night and make sure she doesn't escape or try to kill him if she was indeed an assassin.

Story for the head, if she was indeed there to kill him, Luca Antonio would have been in his pool of blood the next morning.

A few minutes into watching her, he fell asleep and was woken to consciousness the next morning by the rising ray of sun that penetrated his eyes.

He wondered when he slept off and yawned loudly stretching his bones out.

In seconds, his memory got updated to recall that there was the mysterious Linda he was supposed to watch through the night.

He opened his eyes slightly to the direction of the bed and she wasn't there.

Luca jolt to his feet and rubbed his eyes speedily to be sure he was awake.

He opened his eyes and the bed was still empty.

She was gone!

Linda had escaped from him!

How could he be so careless in watching her?

Maybe she haven't gotten far and he could still catch her.

He turned to leave the room and his heart almost exploded at what he saw.

There she was standing butt naked, examining herself in the giant-sized mirror at the corner of the room.

He said in disbelief, "Linda"

Slowly, she turned to him and opened her eyes widely which he interpreted as 'What?'

She kept staring at the mirror and touching herself like she wasn't real or something not minding that Luca was watching her.

He sighed with his head down. She claimed to have memory loss, did her sense of shame go with it?

Linda did not care to move around without clothing and it didn't look like she was seducing him.

It was like she didn't know what she was doing.

His phone buzzed and he quickly received the call from his secretary at work.

He didn't allow her to speak first and said, "Take care of things, Enid, I'll be showing up late today"

That was right. He had to take care of this problem first.

Luca brought in the mysterious lady and now, he had to take care of her, still hoping she wasn't an assassin sent to murder him.
