“Saya difitnah pak, saya dijebak,” jelas Meysa.
“Terima kasih pak, saya minta maaf jika selama bekerja saya pernah membuat kesalahan,” ucap Meysa sambil sesekali mengusap air matanya.
Manager menangguk. “Saya juga meminta maaf sama kamu jika selama saya memimpin banyak kekurangan.”
“Kalau begitu saya permisi pak.”
“Silakan.”
“Gimana Mey?” tanya teman Meysa.
“Aku dipecat,” jawab Meysa lirih.
Meysa menutup Kembali pintu rumahnya kemudian pergi mencari ibunya.
“IBU,” jerit Meysa.
“Ibu, ibu kenapa bu?”
Meysa mendekati tubuh lemas ibunya lalu memangku kepalanya ke atas paha, dia berusaha menepuk-nepuk pipi ibunya berharap ibunya akan sadar namun usahanya tak membuahkan hasil sama sekali. Ibunya masih memejamkan mata.
“TOLONG!!!”
Suara sirine ambulance menggema di depan IGD, sambil berlinang air mata, Meysa ikut mendorong brankar yang terdapat ibunya yang masih tak sadarkan diri. Dia terus menangis sambil memanggil nama ibunya.
Meysa bingung, takut sekaligus tak tahu lagi bagaimana menangani masalahnya sekarang. Sebagai tulang punggung dia sudah bekerja kesana kemari bahkan bekerja part time pun dia lakukan demi keluarganya.
Ceklek.
“Keluarga pasien?”
“Saya dok, saya putrinya.”
“Bagaimana keadaan ibu saya dok?”
“Harap segera melunasi biaya operasinya agar ibu anda segera mendapat Tindakan. Kalau begitu saya permisi dulu.”
Tubuh Meysa ambruk seketika. “Aku harus mencari uang kemana?”
Chapter 10 Once they got in, Elena led her to the living room where they sat, while Setenta followed closely behind them. "It's really bittersweet, Mama. I have been away from you for all these years, and the second I come back, I get married off." Ana Sophia said with a sad look, loud enough for Setenta, who sat at the far corner of the living room, to hear. "Setenta," Ana Sophia called out. “Yes, madam." “Mama and I have a need to do some catching up; I would really appreciate it if you gave us some privacy," she said with a smile. There was no way she could achieve her purpose if Sententa kept on trolling her every move. “But your health, madam." "Don't worry about that; Mama will take care of me." She let out a few coughs. “Yes, madam." Sententa answered, causing Sophia’s eyes to widen; she did not expect it to be that easy. With no second thought, she dragged Elena up; they both walked upstairs and entered Sophia’s room. Once they were in, every sense of cour
Chapter 9 Ana Sophia woke up. She winced as she was hit with a sharp pain in her head . She turned to her side and slowly opened her eyes just to see a drip that was attached to her right arm. “Oh madam, you are awake." The maid who led her out of the dungeon earlier that day said with a worried look. "Yes," Ana Sophia croaked; her throat felt as dry as ever. She silently cursed Jose in her mind, he was the cause of all her problems. Her mission was not supposed to be this hard; who knew Elena would take advantage of her and make her marry Jose in her daughter's place? She really wished she could go to Gustav's mansion to kill Elena, that stupid witch. “Madam, El Jafe Roberto wants to see you." The maid spoke up again with a kind smile as she walked towards Ana Sophia; in a swift, gentle motion, she helped Ana Sophia up and removed the drip needle attached to Sophia’s hands. The sharp pain caused her to curse Jose in her mind once again . With small steps she made her wa
Her body turned cold, and she began to shiver. She did not know what was about to become of her. She began to think of the worst possible outcomes, especially after she had witnessed what Jose was capable of doing. His two lackeys happily followed behind them, waiting to see what will become of Jose’s new bride. "Jose, please, I was tipsy, and I was looking for a room," she explained with a shaky voice as he dragged her down the long hallway. "Okay," he said, ignoring her pleas. He dragged her down the stairs all the way to the basement. Once she saw he was leading her towards the basement, every atom in her body began screaming for help; nothing good ever happens in the basement. She kept quiet once she realized that her screams were not moving Jose one bit. She had already tried the weak persona, and it obviously did not work. She thought men in the mafia liked weak women, but Jose was clearly an exception. She decided to change tactics, anything to survive one more day.
The reception was meant to take place in the Fernendez mansion. Once the wedding ceremony had concluded, they walked down the aisle together in the midst of everyone's applause. They walked out of the church and into the limo waiting for them. Seeing that they were both in the car, the driver nodded and drove away. Now she was left alone with Jose Fernandez, the most ruthless man in the mafia; one wrong breath taken could make him take her life. She dared not to talk or even breathe wrongly. Jose, who sat beside her, frustratedly yanked his tie off his neck, unbuttoning his shirt and exposing his magnificent neck tattoos, she took in a deep breath at the sight before her. “What are you looking at?” he barked coldly, causing her to flinch back. "Nothing," she quickly replied while internally trying to remind herself not to show too much weakness; if not, she would die without a resting place. After a couple minutes they finally arrived at the Fernandez Mansion. The guards o
