THE TRIBRID'S CHECKMATE

last update Last Updated: 2020-05-31 07:59:28

As Nicodemus entered his secret Chambers alongside Greece he stopped with his back turned towards his Gamma.

"No matter how many that swears their loyalty to me,there are still traitors amongst us!."

Greece sighed silently but Nicodemus could still hear. Even after demonstrating his ruthlessness who would dare to betray him?,Greece thought.

"I know you think I'm problematic but you will agree with me that majority out there only joined me because they had no choice. Hence, they have no respect for me nor sworn loyalty." Nicodemus turned to him. "How do I win this war?, Greece."

Nicodemus watched his Gamma swallow his saliva down his throat, pinching the area between his eyebrow.

"Like you said before,we fight with our strong will."

Nicodemus scoffed. "As far as I'm concerned, only I have the strong will. As my Gamma, you'll have to do better in your thinking and be stronger." He walked to his window which blew cold air from the snowy lands through his curly hair.

Greece let out another sigh.

"The Supernatural world will give their all to exterminate me hence,I will not relent in giving my all."

"How then shalt we win?" Greece asked, Nicodemus remained quiet for a while.

"Use their weakness against them. Wolfsbane for the wolves,Vervain for the vampires,Witch Hazel for the witches and the fairies..." He paused. "Iron and Silver. My great concern is the fairies for they can make themselves invisible which brings me to a disadvantage."

"Although the Fairies are not large enough in number but they can make more than half of the Supernatural world army invisible." Greece uttered, still processing his plans in his mind. "If I were the enemy then I'll make my army invisible with the help of the fairies. Verily, the Supernatural world will use this plan!" He asserted.

"How shalt we counter this?" Nicodemus still remained fixed at his window.

"Alpha, behold this pack land is an highland and our major borders lies on the lowlands. I suggest we remain in our pack lands till they cross our borders and after, with the help of our witches,we shalt place a strong boundary spell where no man can leave nor enter...."

"But that will leave us locked with a large army of invisible men!" Nicodemus interjected.

Greece laughed briefly. "We shalt then use their weakness against them. We shalt make a gas potion of their weakness and spread it throughout the air. As for us,we shalt hide in a safe place till it has weakened the lots of them and then....we shalt attack!!!" Greece yelled with confidence. "Our only problem is where to find many of these poisons."

Nicodemus finally turned to him with a fulfilled smile. "Now you're beginning to think like a real Gamma. Did you think that I was not prepared?. Today I shalt lead you to where these poisons are in abundance!."

Greece bowed his head slowly.

"But I have one question." Nicodemus face turned straight. "Why are you so interested in helping me?"

Their eyes met each other before Greece Resigned.

"Your father was a great man,a man I so much hold respect for. The act of The Supernatural world killing him was treachery,it pained the werewolf community as a whole but who are we to stand up to the authority?. And then you appeared, with so much power, fury, determination and passion to fulfill your goals. I see thy father's blood in you,the wolves could not do anything to protect their Alpha but not again shalt I allow the same fate be repeated for his heir!."

Nicodemus couldn't stop himself from smiling even his heart cheered at the words of his Gamma. Regardless, he forced himself to make a straight face.

"You almost bored me with your long story. Let us begin our work immediately." Nicodemus yawned while Greece simply giggled at his Alpha's behaviour.

"One more thing,Alpha!." Greece called. "When we win this war, please be my mentor, teach me to become stronger!!"

Nicodemus's eyes exclaimed in response before he maintained his stiff countenance again.

"Just don't die......." He pursed his lips. "Greece."

Mornings in the highlands were usually accompanied with the rise of the beaming sun, birds chirping incessantly, dew across the grass and divine gentleness spreading across lands but this time the tones of war greeted the Silvery-Claw Centurion Pack. Alpha Rai led the large army as he did 26 years ago.

He walked boldly yet proudly alongside his fellow leader,Liliana,Eli and the Queen of the fairies. As planned, with the help of The Fairies

More than half of his thousandth man army were invisible.

"Are we sure Nicodemus is here?" Liliana asked as they crossed the pack lands boundary.

Alpha Rai sniffed the air immediately. "The bastard is here. I can smell their scent!." He affirmed with a lowly growl.

"Alpha!!" Greece blared in the woods as he approached Nicodemus dressed in a simple fashion and a cheeky smile complementing his face. "They are here!" He muttered amidst his panting.

"Oh I was beginning to get tired of this endless wait." Nicodemus yawned before turning to the small group of witches he selected. "You know what to do." And immediately they walked alongside him to the highlands border.

"Let us waste no time and end this quickly!" Eli stepped forward with a calm look as he stared at the highlands.

Their eyes exclaimed as the figure of the Tribrid with some witches appeared on the highlands border. Their shock boldly written on their face was not fear but his outstanding stature and striking resemblance to his parents.

"We are invisible!. Yet why do I feel like he can see us!" Liliana stuttered as she stared endlessly at him above.

"Don't be intimidated Liliana!!" Alpha Rai growled with his bald head glowing under the sun. "The Tribrid's ego is simply deceiving your eyes!."

"Should I attack?,cause I'm getting bored of this staring competition" Eli asked nonchalantly.

"The Tribrid shalt die in my hands!. No one moves unless I say so!." Alpha Rai blared while Eli wriggled his head.

He expected that much from the Alpha.

"Are you sure they are here, Alpha!" One other witches asked.

"Shut up and do your duty!" Nicodemus growled with a stone coated face. He stepped forward glaring at the lowlands even though he couldn't see anything.

"Pour out the grains!!!" He yelled to his peak dragging the attention of his enemies. Immediately his five witches joined hands together muttering audible spells.

"Inclydia materos, sameri kari a gi materos, granis tó de futde. Inclydia materos, sameri kari a gi materos, granis tó de futde!. Inclydia materos!!....."

"What are they doing??" Rai asked nervously. His nervousness further increased as he watched Liliana stare in surprise.

"He knows!..." She almost sounded like a whisper. Eli glanced at her.

"Impossible!" Queen of the Fairies answered.

"He knows we are here!" She gasped.

"Attack!!!!!!" Alpha Rai blared.

"No!" She yelled,Eli remained fixed studying her baffled look but it was too late.

Nicodemus face changed into a sinister smile. "Release them!!" He yelled with confidence.

And in a moment...the cloud burst open to rain down tons of grains to the lowlands!.

The Queen of the Fairies gasped with her body obviously consumed in shock.

Grains was a weakness of the fairies,it makes them stop to count every single grain that lands in their line of vision.

As the grains landed on the grounds,The Fairies shrieked in agony, Alpha Rai wondered in confusion, Eli concluded they had lost, Liliana let out an heavy Sigh.

The invisibility spell was broken!.

"We are finished."

Once the fight was over. The rest disappeared into the building while Sabrina stayed. She continued to stare at the sizeable amount of blood spilled from the monster and there was Nicodemus's too. Perhaps their blood might be of use. So she spelled two empty jars to her palms. This spell would take it's toll on her due to little energy she had left."Calicus liberie retrieva, Calicus liberie retrieva, Calicus liberie retrieva, Calicus liberie retrieva!....."
