Fear. Fear has been the only feeling that reigned for centuries. If it isn't fear of the Tribrid then it is of death or of being dominated or of failing or of trying or of loosing someone you deeply care about.
These were the feelings Nicodemus was accustomed to. He expected New Orleans supernatural community to be in great turmoil over his sudden appearance,he expected that feeling of fear but all what he was seeing were different.
