"He had us played the whole time. Checkmated from the beginning." Arthur added when Sabrina finished narrating their ordeal with Nicodemus.
"He has a family. A happy one at that." Arthur's hand curled into a fist. The five years they spent in search for a weapon was all for nothing. While they were suffering, Nicodemus was busy the whole time enjoying his life with his family.
Once his eyes fell on that adorable kid and his innocently looking mate,he lost the motivation to kill his Sire. But there was still one question left.
"Why did Nicodemus hesitate in killing us when he had the chance to?." He didn't know when he inadvertently voiced out his thoughts.
