CHAPTER EIGHT: THE DEAL OR ORDEAL?

For a moment, Rachel thought she was imagining things. It simply couldn’t be possible. She had been shopping with Kyra for the past two hours and was naturally bound to feel tired. Maybe the scorching sun of the afternoon was getting to her after all.

However, Kyra’s next words proved her vision right.

“Say Rach, isn’t that Jake over there? And who’s that gorgeous blonde with him?”

“Elizabeth,” she replied dully.

Kyra’s eyes widened with both outrage and shock. “The Elizabeth?”

Wryly, Rachel nodded and looked away trying to hold back the tears welling up in her eyes. How could Jake do that to her? Three months? That was the time it had taken him to flit into someone’s else’s arm? It was downright humiliating.

“Come on,” said Kyra determinedly making her way towards the couple who had just entered a restaurant.

“What are you doing?” Rachel asked horrified as she guessed the intention of her best friend. Kyra was guiding her into the restaurant for a confrontation. But she wasn’t ready
