Chapter 4 - The Marriage Issue (2)

Mr Felix knight -(Joan's Father)

Mr Felix was about to get up and head into the bathroom when his phone started ringing. He Looked at phone and saw Mr Dominic white flashing on the screen, he quickly picked it and answered the phone.

"Hello Dominic how are you doing" Mr Felix said the person on the other side of the phone while smiling

"Felix my good friend all isn't well at all " Mr Dominic said.

"What happened Dominic is anything the matter hope you're feeling better now" Mr felix said sounding worried.

"No Felix and that's the reason I called you"

"What do you mean Dominic" Mr Felix said while starting to feel worried.

"You know I've been very sick for a while now felix and right now as I'm speaking to you I'm laying on a hospital bed, i don't know what may become of me in the future felix, the doctor said the illness is getting worse and my health isn't improving either, i don't know if this might as well be the last time i speak to you, i called you because I wanted to tell you something important so i might as well head straight to the point." Mr dominic said pausing for a while and then continuing again.

"You know very well what condition i am in and if i was to suddenly die right now the company might crash down because damien isn't fully prepared to take over yet. I really worked hard for my company to be the way it is today and it would be really painful to see all my efforts go to waste so i called to tell you that i think the best option now is for damien to get married because in that way he'll have his wife and you guys support and I'll also be assured that there will be someone who will suceed after damien. I hope joan is ready to get married because I want to witness the marriage incase anything were to happen to me and I'm sure damien will also be ready for it too afterall they were already betrothed since small and you also promised that joan will be married off to damien when the time comes. you and i both know very well that damien has been in love with joan since she was a baby and even up till now, he loves no one else but her so i think this is the right time for the promise to be fufiled, I'm sure joan has come of age already so there shouldn't be any delay in them getting married as fast as possible don't you think so?" Mr dominic said explaining everything to Mr Felix.

"I understand the situation and I think you have a point, although joan is only 22 years old but I'm sure she'll understand the situation when i explain it to her, since Joan is an adult now she can get married, i still remember the promise i made years ago and I intend to keep it, so since they have both come of age for the marriage, then it's okay with

me if they both get married since they're already betrothed i guess they shouldn't be any reason for delay" Mr Felix replied

"Ok great, thanks for understanding felix"

"No problem" Mr Felix replied.
