Chris drove his BMW up to the packhouse and smiled when he saw Rayland was already waiting for him—it was a little troublesome since he had to lie to Samantha about where he was going.

Chris didn’t get out to greet him because he didn’t want to make it obvious to the others who were around.

Rayland was with Valentino, who waved crazily at Chris, who just honked his horn in greeting.

Reaching over the seats, he opened the door and smiled. Rayland sat down and closed the door and almost jumped out of his seat when Chris reached over and tugged the seat belt in place, then clipped it in. He placed it over Rayland’s chest so that it wouldn’t touch his stomach; he looked at Rayland and asked, “Are you comfortable?”

Rayland didn’t answer him and only stared. That’s when Chris realized how close they were. He stared into Rayland’s eyes and heard Crypt say, >I can hear Parisa’s heartbeat from here.<
