Loyal to Wrath 3

>No one said happy birthday to us yet< Cyro reminds me. I clear my throat and look over at Chris. Taking out the box from my pocket, I throw it at him, which he quickly catches and looks at me surprised, “Happy birthday,” I say.

He looks down at his hands and mumbles thanks. Opening it, his eyes widened. He looks at me and asks confused, “Grandpa’s ring?”

Everyone stares at me, surprised. I sigh and look at my mother. “Do you have chocolate ice cream?” She nods at me, confused, but I don’t answer her and get up. Going over to the fridge, I pull open the freezer door and grab the tub of ice cream. Shutting it, I grab a tablespoon out of the dishwasher and head back to the table. Grabbing five pancakes, I place them on my plate and scoop out the ice cream, and start eating it as I think of Kaeden.

“Grandpa gave you this ring when he said you should be Alpha. Why are you giving it to me?” Chris asks me. I look over with a frown. I was in my thoughts about Kaeden, and here he disrupted me. “Throw it away, if you don’t want it,” I say plainly.

It’s not that I don’t want the ring, it’s just that I realized that there was something out there better than being Alpha and being hated by the pack members for drilling them and beating them up – although this thought came to me while I was in the shower not too long ago.

Closing my eyes, I null my senses and look for my mate through the pack house. My ears pick up on a conversation. “Why did you give Alpha Corbin his gift so early? What will you give him at the party later on?”

Kaeden sighs, “I don’t know. I wasn’t going to, but then I felt weird and Phoenix said I should give it to him to cheer him up. He even invited me to his party that I wasn’t invited to and he said that if I don’t go, he’ll punish me.”

“The only reason you weren’t invited was that Charlese thinks you like her boyfriend,” the female voice whispered, making me frown.

“Just because I like guys doesn’t mean that I like every single person. I haven’t even found someone interesting besides my crush on Corbin and I’m saving myself for my mate, so she should drown in a lake if she thinks I’m after her boyfriend, that is a mama’s boy!” Kaeden cheekily answers and I can’t help but smile.

“Corbin!” My father calls me. My eyes snap open and I see everyone staring at me in shock. “Yea?” I ask since I wasn’t paying attention.

“Samantha’s my mate,” Chris says.

I look at him momentarily as I hear Cyro scoff, >Send her away! Just the thought of my mate saving himself for me makes me feel disgusted sitting beside her<

I look at Samantha listlessly, “Sit beside your mate.”

She looks at me, confused. “But we’re dating Corbin.”

I groan, “Not if you’re mated with my brother. Swap places with Jessie,” I say, pointing at my kid sister. I quickly eat and get up, “Bye!”

Leaving, he growls, >Today was proof! They were so blinded because Samantha and Chris are mates and we didn’t get wished! Unforgivable!! I want nothing to do with them. Let’s leave the pack, Corbin. I only need you and my mate!<

“We can’t kidnap our mate Cyro,” I groan and pass everyone who wishes me a happy birthday.

‘Son!’ my father calls through the link just as I reach my Grey-Silver Audi A6. Climbing inside, I look at the packhouse. In the mirror, I watch as my eyes shine yellow. Cyro took over and started driving. >What?!<

‘Cyro?’ my father calls confused. >What do you want, old man?<

‘Show respect pup’ my father's wolf Zeus growls into the link.

>NO! NEVER! I HATE ALL OF YOU! NONE OF YOU WISHED CORBIN AND I HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND I’M SURE YOU ALL WISHED CHRIS AND CRYPT – WHAT ARE WE? WE’RE THE THING YOU WISH YOU NEVER HAD! CAN I HELP IT THAT WE JUST WANTED YOUR APPROVAL? ALL YOU DO IS ORDER US AROUND AND SHOW US NOT AN OUNCE OF YOUR LOVE! I’M FUCKING LEAVING! I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU OR ANY OF THE PACK MEMBERS AND DON’T COME LOOKING FOR US BECAUSE I’LL KILL YOU, DO YOU HEAR ME YOU OLD SHIT?!<

Cyro cut the link and masked our scent, then went to whine in the corner of my consciousness after giving me back control. “Are you okay, Cyro?” I ask him worriedly.

>NO! Can we not go to school? I don’t want to see anyone. Today was perfect until we went to them! Corbin, I want my mate,< he whimpered. I could feel his sadness.

We both only wanted our dad’s approval, but I inherited grandpa’s savageness, ‘plus more’. I am grandpa’s favourite and earned the envy of Chris and my other siblings. Pulling out my cell phone that kept ringing, I look down and see that it’s my father. Ending the call, I switch my mobile off and throw it on the floor of my car.

Due to being disliked, I never got along with anyone, not even the Beta and Gamma, who are Chris’s best friends. The Omega’s like me but that was natural for them. I sigh as I feel myself getting further and further away from my mate.

I drive out of the woods and into the city where all the humans are. I head over to my personal business, my backup plan. I knew that this day would come, but I thought I was going to end my relationship with my family, not Cyro. Looking down at my wrist, I feel my heart break. “I should have brought the things he gifted us.” This thought only made Cyro whimper more.

>Go back and fetch it tonight, but don’t expect me to be happy-go-lucky and speak to those people.< He says, and I smile at his childishness.

“I love you Cyro,” I say and hear him scoff, >I love you too brother.<

Climbing out of the car, I head in and the human receptionist stands at attention. “Welcome back, Mr Sliver.” I nod at him. “I’ll be permanently taking over. Please inform all the shareholders that there will be a meeting tomorrow and tell the acting CEO to meet me in twenty minutes.”

“Yes, sir!” He says and I nod as I take the elevator to the tenth floor of my building. I hired only humans and humans that were clueless about werewolves. The business I started is an armoury business. We make weapons, body armour and the works, selling it to the police, government, army and, of cause to anyone who wants it. It was just a joke, but the minute I got investors, I made it a side business and let everyone know of my achievement when I became Alpha, but I’m thankful to Kaeden for opening my eyes. At least now, I can rest and not be as tense as always.

“Mr Silver, Mr Clark is on his way over, he said, there is a traffic jam and will be a tad bit late,” my secretary says making me groan, “Sure, I’m in no rush, tell him, he can only be one minute late, nothing more or he will be fired,” I say into the receiver.

I hear my secretary chuckle, making me grin. I switch out of my lazy wear and change into a royal blue suit and comb my hair back. Cyro takes over and looks at himself in the mirror, tugging at the lapels of the suit. He grins, >Damn I look good. What do you think Kaeden will say?<

“He’ll wet his underwear,” I say, boosting my ego. He howls inwardly and wags his tail, settling down in my consciousness happily. Sitting down at my desk, I switch on the computer and immediately answer emails and pull up the latest designs of weapons. I email them off to my consultant and wait for Cayson Clark.

He comes in fifteen minutes later and looks at me breathlessly, “You’re a scary young man, do you know that?”

I scoff and show him to his seat. After drinking two glasses of water, he asks, “How does it feel to be eighteen?”

I smile at him, surprising him. “Not only did I turn eighteen, but I also found the one I’ll be staying with for the rest of my life.”

“That’s great!!” He says, and we got into business talks.

[Back at the Crimson Moon Pack House]

Alpha Dick Waters’ face paled after his conversation with his son. His eyes focused on his family in front of him and he sighed deeply.

“What did he say, Dick?” Miranda Waters, Luna of the Crimson Moon Pack, asked. He shook his head. “I didn’t speak to Corbin. I spoke to Cyro. He said all they wanted was my approval, but I never even gave them love, nor did any of us wish him a happy birthday.”

“Why is Cyro being a baby?” Charlese asked him with a scoff.

A knock came from the door. Charlese got up and opened the door. Dick’s Beta William came in and greeted everyone. Looking at Dick, he said, “The warriors just reported that Corbin’s scent vanished in his car after he left the packhouse. They say his car is on its way to town, but they can’t tell if he is still the one driving it.”

“Corbin masked his scent? So well?” Dick asked, shocked. He stood up and walked over. “Inform all the warriors that they need to find him now!”
