Koda woke up to a grumbling stomach. He groaned and turned in bed and his arm hit against a space where Helianthus was supposed to be.

He frowned and listened carefully within the house. He heard cutlery falling with a few mumbles and curses.

He got up and walked to the kitchen with silent steps and saw that Helianthus was in the kitchen baking.

He walked into view and his hoarse morning voice hit her ears, “Why are you up so early?”

Helianthus jumped but quickly calmed down and looked at him surprised, “And you, why are you awake? I put you to sleep not too long ago.”

Koda turned around and looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was three in the morning and he went to bed around twelve. It would have been later if Helianthus did not force him to stop working and go to bed.

He looked back at her and said, “I’m hungry.”

Helianthus chuckled and answered his question, “Well, I got the bright idea to bake bread and made muffins and fudge.”
