Mag-log inVera tried her best to listen in class and also work well on her test. She still didn't believe she was reliving the day and she still thought that this might be a result of her death. She still had lingering attachments in this world and school was one of them.
There's no way it was possible for her to have come back to this school living the day if she was still dead. It's even more ridiculous to think that he was reborn when she was already supposed to be dead. She felt like everything wasn't real at all. After they were done with classes, Andrea and Xena came to us to see her in the class. They looked like they were still worried about her because of her behavior in the morning. “How do you feel right now? Do you still feel like you're still dead or not?” Xena asked her. Vera didn't know how to explain herself to Xena because it felt like she was being mocked at the same time. But she just held it in, who was going to believe she had a crazy experience after all? “I'm completely fine now. You don't have to worry about anything.” Vera replied her. Andrea nodded, “That's good to know because I was already thinking of how to take you to the doctor to have your brain checked.” Vera just smiled at them because it wasn't their fault anyway. She was going crazy herself trying to think about all the possibilities that were right in front of her. She already experienced what happened to her before and that wasn't a dream at all. She was thrown down by Prince Raymond or his Highness like he is called by everyone. She saw him killing someone with his friends and they all covered for him. The thought of his eyes as he enjoyed torturing her made her shiver so much. She didn't want to have anything to do with him at all. She remembered it was because they went back to the classes to look for Andrea's pendant that she got killed. She still didn't remember who was chasing her the last time and made her encounter such a scene. But she had to do everything to prevent that tragedy from happening again and live her life. Since she was given a second chance, she would cherish it well and try her best to stay away from those people. She was even thinking of going below the top 100 people in the school so that he wouldn't be noticed by anyone at all. She wanted to be a nobody until she graduated. “Andrea, have you taken your pendant from the class? Go back and take it since you forgot it.” she immediately reminded Andrea. Andrea was shocked, “That's right, I forgot my pendant in the class earlier. But how do you even know that?” Vera couldn't possibly tell Andrea that she was reborn in the first place. They don't even believe in her and they would probably drug her to the psychiatry ward if she ever opened her mouth to say something like that. “Why are you asking her that? Don't you think it's noticeable since you always wear it around?” Xena came to her rescue. Andrea nodded, “That's right I totally forgot I was supposed to wear it. I'll go back and get it immediately, can you come with me Vera?” Vera immediately got a flashback of what happened before in the night. She didn't want to repeat the same incident. She felt like she was going to go crazy as her hands trembled. She remembered all the eyes on her and how they were looking at her like their next victim. They still killed her at the end anyway. She shook her head, “I'm sorry why don't you go with Xena? I really need to go to the restroom right now.” “Okay... we'll see you later then.” She watched as Xena and Andrea left. It was time for her to get out of the class and people were starting to leave the classroom for other activities but she couldn't stand up from her seat. She felt like she was going to lose her mind if she got up. She was too scared to get out of the class, and she didn't want to bump into anyone. She was completely traumatized, her body felt like it was going to fall apart at any minute. The surely wouldn't remember her and the chances of her bumping into them was 0.9% out of 100, which meant she hasn't even seen them in a long time except for when she was killed. Yet she couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. They're not supposed to remember her now since it wasn't evening yet. She remembered that they killed someone but she doesn't know who it was, it wasn't her business anyway. It's already hard enough for her to try and survive. How can she try to help other people and end up getting herself killed again? She decided to muster up her courage and get out of the class. She rushed out of the hallways to the cafeteria as she felt hungry. She got her usual and rushed towards the corner where she usually ate. “Get him! Don't let him leave!” The same words she had heard before was being said in front of her again. She realized today was still the same except that she wasn't the same anymore. She was filled with fear of dying at any time because she wasn't exactly sure if she was going to be noticed by them or not. What if they were reborn like her and they remembered everything? She quickly checked her bag for the protective necklace that she got from her father before she came to the school. She usually held it when she was feeling nervous but this time around, she couldn't find it. She thought it was a joke at first and kept looking around but still didn't find it. She panicked as she rushed towards the dormitory to check for it. She check everywhere in the room only to find the crystal on it was already shattered on the bed. Her hands trembled as she held on to it, trying to piece it together but it wasn't working. She felt tears rolling down from her eyes in pain, her father told her it was protective and also it was going to hide her aura. She could live as an ordinary person and no one would care about her. She was told that she could only use it in a life or death situation, and it must never be broken. “My life was saved but now my necklace is broken.” “It's broken already. What am I going to do now? How am I supposed to hide myself in the school now?” she cried bitterly. She definitely didn't want to be noticed especially by him. Because of the secret she almost revealed before she was killed by him. “He's going to find out. What will I do when he finds out I'm his mate? Will he kill me again?” She held her head in pain. She already knew he was her mate since the first time she saw him from afar. But she didn't want to have anything to do with him, and she realized that the necklace given to her by her father was able to hide everything about her. He never knew for the past few two years that she was here. The bell for next classes rang. She decided to just hold on and go to class for now. She rushed out of the dormitory going her way to class, only to bump into the person she didn't want to see the most. She fell down and tried to get up, but her eyes met with his and she immediately froze, her breath caught up her throat. She tried to get away from him but he stopped her. He arched a brow, looking at her with his icy eyes with interest and curiosity. “Where are you rushing to? Don't you think you are being a little bit rude... dear mate?”Vera couldn't stop thinking about it.Even after classes ended, she kept replaying everything in her head. The competition. The Founder's Ceremony. The mandatory participation. The relic. The mark. And somehow Raymond was connected to almost all of it.That alone annoyed her.She had spent two years staying away from trouble. Now trouble seemed determined to follow her everywhere. The moment classes ended, students flooded the academy grounds. Groups were already discussing strategies for the competition. Some were practicing combat. Some were forming teams. Others were bragging about how they would win.Vera wanted nothing to do with any of it.She headed toward the library instead.Unfortunately, she wasn't lucky enough to be left alone."Running away again?"She didn't even need to turn around.Raymond.Of course.Vera kept walking."I'm busy.""No, you're not.""I'm about to be.""Doing what?""Getting away from you."She heard him laugh behind her. For some reason that made her c
Vera blinked in confusion. "Me?"The Headmaster nodded. "Along with Prince Raymond and Prince Henry."Now she was even more confused. "What did I do?"Henry laughed and Raymond looked bored. The Headmaster ignored her question. "Tomorrow morning."Then he walked away just like that. Leaving Vera standing there with even more questions than before.Camellia immediately grabbed her arm. "What happened in those woods?"Andrea nodded rapidly. "Tell us everything.""Every single thing."Vera looked trapped. What exactly was she supposed to say? She glanced at Raymond. To her surprise, he was already looking at her. The moment their eyes met, she remembered the vision again. Her cheeks were burning. She quickly looked away. Raymond frowned slightly but didn't say anything. The last thing she needed was him asking strange questions in front of everyone. Henry noticed the exchange and smirked. Vera wanted to throw him into a lake. The group finally started heading back toward the dormitories.
Lying on the floor was a crystal. It was not just a normal crystal. The inside looked like liquid moonlight. It glowed softly. It looked beautiful and dangerous at the same time.Vera felt that strange pull again. The same feeling she had when she saw the necklace. The same feeling she had when she entered the ruins. It was calling her. She hated it.Raymond noticed. "Don't touch it."Vera frowned. "I wasn't planning to.""You were thinking about it. I can tell what you're thinking.""Stop reading my face.""You make it too easy. You don't even know how to hide your expression and you expect me not to read it. I can tell you a very mad at me right now."She rolled her eyes. Henry crouched down and carefully picked up the crystal. The moment his fingers touched it, nothing happened. Everyone looked disappointed.Even Henry."I was expecting something dramatic."Vera sighed in relief. "That's good. Let's keep it that way."Unfortunately the universe didn't listen. The crystal suddenly f
Vera kept staring at the statue. The more she looked at it, the more uncomfortable she became. It wasn't just because the statue looked familiar. It was because it looked too familiar. The shape of the face, the eyes, even the hair. Everything reminded her of herself. She slowly moved closer to the pedestal while trying to convince herself that she was imagining things."Vera."Raymond's voice stopped her.She turned around. "What?""Come back."Vera frowned. "Why?""Because something is wrong with this place."She almost laughed. "Really? What gave it away? The ancient underground ruins or the creepy statue that looks like me?"Henry rubbed his forehead. "I hate that she's making sense."Raymond ignored both of them and walked toward her. "I'm serious.""So am I."The two of them stared at each other. Vera was the first to look away. Because she didn't want to admit that she was actually scared. The voice she heard earlier still echoed inside her head.Welcome back. The words made he
The moment the symbol began to glow, all three of them seemed like they were frozen. The half-moon mark lit up with a soft silver light that spread across the ancient stone structure. The glow wasn't violent or dangerous, but Vera still felt her heart beating faster. It felt familiar. Too familiar. She unconsciously took a step back."What is that?" Henry asked quietly."No idea," Vera answered honestly. "I don't think it's anything you want to mess with." Raymond didn't say anything. He was staring directly at the symbol.Vera looked between the both of them. "Can you see it too?"Henry frowned. "Of course I can see it."That made her feel slightly relieved. At least she wasn't hallucinating. For a moment she had wondered if she was the only one seeing it again. The probably wouldn't believe her if she said she was the only one who could see it. The silver light continued spreading through the ruins until strange symbols began appearing around the structure. They slowly lit up one a
Vera couldn't stop staring at Raymond. She was in awe and more confusion. She was looking at him like someone who had seen a ghost. Even after the vision disappeared, she still found herself looking at him differently. It annoyed her because she didn't want to look at him differently. This was still the same Raymond who had made her life miserable from the moment they met. The same Raymond who had thrown her off a building. The same Raymond who kept threatening her whenever he got the chance.Yet the memory she had just seen refused to leave her mind. She saw herself and she also saw him. And the most ridiculous part of this was that they looked happy together.Actually happy and not arguing, threatening each other or trying to kill each other like they usually did in real life. The thought alone made her feel strange.Raymond was still holding her because she had almost fallen. His brows were furrowed as he looked down at her."What happened?"Vera quickly let go of his shirt and st
