Tanya froze on the spot when she glanced at the face of the person lying limply in his arms and saw that it was Vanya.

“Ivan…” confusion drew her brows up, as she glanced between them both.

“Someone get Ice, towels and hot water right now!” Ivan shouted, brushing past Tanya and ignoring everyone else as he moved straight toward the staircase.

The maids around immediately started scrambling in different directions and Tanya, who was still stunned that Ivan had ignored her, rushed after him.

Tanya froze on the spot when she glanced at the face of the person lying limply in his arms and saw that it was Vanya.“Ivan…” confusion drew her brows up, as she glanced between them both.“Someone get Ice, towels and hot water right now!” Ivan shouted, brushing past Tanya and ignoring everyone else as he moved straight toward the staircase. The maids around immediately started scrambling in different directions and Tanya, who was still stunned that Ivan had ignored her, rushed after him.“Ivan,” she called after him, “what are you doing?”He didn’t answer and Tanya, foolishly bold, followed close behind, calling after him. “What are you doing? She’s pregnant and you’re not even punishing her for it? Why haven’t you—”“Don’t,” Anastasia hissed, grabbing her daughter’s arm. “What the hell are you trying to do? Ivan is angry. Ivan cannot be angry and then you go into the same room with Ivan. Ivan is messed up. He is mad right now. Ivan is dangerous and you cannot be in the room with a

  • The Mute Bride For The Don   The News In The Mansion…

THIRD POV. Back at the Petrov mansion, word had already spread faster than a wildfire. Karena, who had returned home earlier, had been intercepted by Anastasia the moment she stepped into the entrance hall.“What the hell is happening?” Her voice was sharp with demand. “What happened at the hospital? And why did Vanya follow you to the hospital? What is going on? Speak up.”Tanya followed right behind her, watching and listening curiously and Karena, who was still slightly shaken, sighed nervously.“Ma’am,” she started in a low voice. “The Don actually discovered that Vanya was pregnant, and he was not pleased. He was not happy about her pregnancy.”“Pregnant?” Tanya cut in, her face pale as ash as she stared from Karena to her mother. “Mother, did you hear what she just said?”“Yes, Tanya, I just heard it now.” Anastasia didn’t look any better. “We are both hearing it, and it’s not just possible.” She glanced around at the faces close to them. “Everyone in this mansion knows that I

  • The Mute Bride For The Don   I Was Sorry…

THIRD POV. Ivan did not turn back no matter how much Vanya pleaded with him to do so. Her eyes felt blurry, and her bones could barely hold her up any longer. The car’s door had barely shut before her weakened knees hit the ground hard. The impact sent a sharp jolt up her knees, but the real pain was elsewhere, somewhere deeper, troubled by the knowledge that the small life inside her was already unwanted by the only father it would ever know. She stayed there on the cold road, her wrists still bound, hair plastered to her face by tears and the night air.Every breath she drew felt thin. She knew it wasn’t Ivan’s fault if her baby died. He had warned her from the very beginning and made his stance clear. She had brought this on herself by discarding the pills, by believing the dizziness was only side effects, by thinking she could hide the truth until she understood it.Ivan never said something he didn’t mean. And now, her baby had entered a world where its father had already deci

  • The Mute Bride For The Don   Hatred Towards Our Fate..

I waited until the doctor’s footstep faded outside before rising unsteadily and slipping out of the office.I left the office and found the staircase, where people rarely pass through since they mainly used the elevator and waited until the hours stretched late into the evening.By the time I finally emerged, it was evening. When I asked for the time from someone rushing past me, it was past seven. Hunger, exhaustion, and fear made it so hard for me to think. I had nowhere to go. I had no family I could reach, no money, and I hadn’t taken my phone along either. The only plan left was to walk out and keep walking until the distance was safe enough for me and my child.I hoped that enough time had passed for Ivan to have given up and left. I was almost at the entrance when a hand suddenly closed around my arm, making me freeze. When I turned back, I felt my soul flee from my body. “I knew you’d play this game,” Ivan said, and my eyes widened with fear.I’d scanned the area before w

  • The Mute Bride For The Don   Not Taking Another Chance…

“Where are you taking me, Ivan?” I asked, panic rising in my chest. “Where are you taking me? Stop, you’re hurting me.”Ivan didn’t listen, nor did he stop. He dragged me down the corridor, into a doctor’s office nearby. The female doctor inside recognized him instantly, and she jolted to her feet, almost knocking the seat down as her expression shifted with unease.“Don… you are here.” Her voice shook with fear.“I want that thing inside her out,” Ivan said coldly, pointing straight at my stomach.“But, Don,” the doctor said carefully, “I assumed you’d be pleased—”Ivan laughed coldly, and in the next second, the laughter on his face died and left a scornful expression behind. “I think you’re tired of having this job. Scratch that, how about no hospital in the world accepts you ever again. Or better, your license gets revoked for doing absolutely nothing.” he threatened. The doctor’s face paled instantly, and she started to tremble as her lips parted but nothing came out.“I want it

  • The Mute Bride For The Don   A Fool In Disguise…

Vanya. I didn’t mean to get pregnant. If I had known skipping the pills would do this to me because Ivan was still having sex with me, I would never have stopped or thrown them away. I only wanted to stop feeling so nauseous. But the way Ivan was staring at me right now scared me. I could barely process anything except his anger and the foolishness of what I had done. The pills were still scattered across the floor, and I could feel many eyes watching us when Ivan suddenly spoke up again, angrily. “Why did you do it?!” he shouted, loud enough that the people closest to us scrambled away immediately. “Why did you do it, Vanya? Tell me!” I was trembling. His voice had shaken me to my bones and now all I wanted was for the ground to open up and swallow me. “Ivan,” I looked around, then back to him, as I took a step, crushing the pills in my way, and tried to reach for his arm shakily with my free hand, but Ivan pulled his arm free as if my touch burned. “Ivan…please. Let’s just

Vanya. “Vanya!” The cold hit me first. A shock of freezing water slamming across my face and chest. I gasped, bolting upright on the thin mattress, my thin nightgown clinging to my skin like a second, shivering layer. “Vanya! Get up!” My stepmother’s voice sliced through the morning light l
