"So... how's my car doing?" I turned to Andrew who slides next to me. I put my food down then swallowed. "About your car, I thought that it is not that bad like probably a day everything will be settled. But I was wrong, your brake pads are broken so it needs to be changed and I don't think today or tomorrow is done."
"Why?" He said scrunching his eyebrow. "Because today, I have to help the others to decorate for homecoming. A part of my detention, remember? Then, tomorrow is the day of the playoffs and I do not want to miss it. So your car will be done on Monday or Tuesday, I guess."
"Can it be done a little faster?"
"Well, it can if I took a night shift." Slowly a grin appeared on his face. "Then take the night shift."<

Valerie HernandezMy eyes fluttered open as I heard the birds chirping. I sat up, yawning while stretching my limbs. I slid my feet off from my bed then do my morning routine. Opening my wardrobe, I took the clothes that I first laid my eyes on. A pair of skinny jeans and a white hoodie. Wearing my white sneakers, I grab my bag from the couch and sling it to my shoulder. After I'm done, I head downstairs to the kitchen. Dad is facing the stove making breakfast. I plopped down the stool. "Morning dad,""Morning sweetie." He replied without glancing at me as he flips the pancakes he's making. "I thought you're already head to the diner.""I decided to take a day off.""And who will watch the diner?"

Valerie Hernandez "Aren't you guys excited for today's game?" Carmen said excitedly as we made our way inside our rival school. Julia and I shared a looked before chuckling. "You said that because you want to check out the guys right?" Julia said. Carmen faces us while walking backward. "No, who said that. I'm here to cheer our team. Go whales!!" She shouted and people around us looked at us weirdly. "Okay, you can save the energy for later though," I said while chuckling. I then pulled her arm. "How about you Val, aren't you excited to see your boyfriend playing?" Carmen tilt her head to face me. "Yeah, of course, I am," I reply as I shoot her a small smile. "Aw... you two are the sweetest couple," Carmen said. The three of us head inside the gym that is now packed with a lot of people. I saw the students from our school painted their cheeks yellow and black. They also wear basketball jerseys. Same as our school rival, the leopards.

Valerie Hernandez 54-56 The Whales are currently leading the score. The Whale Coast students are cheering for the Whales. They only have 20 minutes left before halftime.
