I give the two men one last smile and walk away, almost jumping with joy as I go. This little victory means I get to keep my secrets for a little longer and Remington won't get the chance to fight for his child and take him away from me.

And that’s good for Rem because if he ever tries to get my baby away from me, I will end him and this stupid pack I already have lots of hate for.

Instead of going back inside to continue feeling suffocated with memories and bad juju, I decide to take a little walk around the garden while I wait for Cassie to pack our stuff and come here.

Of course, back in the day, me and Remington would spend most of our time together out here, away from his overbearing, annoying mom and his mean dad. And the rest of his weird family who were always way too involved in his life.

We both loved nature, so we would lay around on the grass all the time. Sometimes, he would shift to his white wolf and he would let me get on his back before taking off running.

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Clear Route

Tatiana's mouth is so wide open, I could fit my whole fist in there. Grandmother Elena looks like she's finally going to kick the bucket, but it's Viktor who breaks the awkward silence first. "Is she Remington's daughter?" He asks, looking right at me with the same face my mate has, except older and disfigured with hate. I have no way out of this one, so I just nod and turn to Sierra. She legit falls to the ground as if her legs have failed her, with wet eyes and a shocked face. Tatiana is the one who goes to help her, "Does he know?" "Yes," I respond without further explanation and finally crouch down to pull Ash's fingers out of his mouth, then I grab his face and pull him closer to me so I can kiss his cheek, "You know damn well I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, I’m a badass. This will be over soon and we'll finally leave this pack." Tatiana is shaking her head in horror, comforting her drama queen of a daughter-in-law. I roll my eyes at the sight and decide to ignore them.

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Just Because

"What made you stop?" Ashton complains when I finally reach him. He's scowling hard, "You made it way too easy this time." "I thought I heard something," I say, reaching to undo his scowl with my hand, then I grab his nose between my fingers and pull on it like when he was a baby, making him laugh, "Let's race again, this time I won't let you win. To the tree!" I take off running before he even knows what's going on and when I reach the nearest tree one minute later he starts complaining even more about me cheating. I laugh and continue racing him back and forth for a while, trying to avoid Cassie's scared energy, but it's too loud. It gets worse every second, "What is it, Cass?" "We should just go back inside," she says. My scaredy-cat, she's sitting in the fountain with a worried expression, "Everything feels weird. And look... there's some creep watching us." My head turns immediately at the mention of a threat and I lock eyes with none other than fucking Felicia. The stalk

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Split

I open the door to my office and walk straight to the map of the Silvan territory, then I stare at the edges, wondering how the fuck did this happen. All the borders are covered. I know for a fact I haven’t missed anything, not a single inch. I have so many men patrolling the edges, it’s borderline ridiculous. This has to be a bad joke on me. There hasn’t been a breach in Silvan territory since my grandfather’s time, thirty-something years ago, before I was even born. Growing up, I believed we were special. That this pack was untouchable. Especially against rogues... because they're supposed to be wild. Unorganized. Messy. Everything we are not. But sneaking in without us noticing is not messy. It's either extremely intelligent work or... someone in the inside is helping them. Someone in my pack is a traitor. "Alpha Remington," a voice says, entering my office without knocking, because I left the door open. It's Nolan, one of the guards. He shouldn't be inside. "What is it?" I

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Let’s Get Her

Cassie is awake now, but Ash is still too distracted by the video game he’s playing to even turn to look at me. "Hey, did you hear that?" I ask, sitting down next to my bestie. "I heard something, but I couldn't make it out... was it Remington?" Cassie asks with a yawn, I nod. "He did a bunch of really good stuff," I murmur and show the papers to her before throwing them on the nightstand so I can sign whatever I need to sign later, "Like, so good, I think I'll be able to pay you for all the free housing you've given us. Plus a bonus." Her eyes open really wide and she asks me to explain, but I tell her we can talk about it tomorrow. Right now, I need her to kindly evacuate with my son. Fifteen minutes later as I'm quickly picking up the mess we had here, the door opens and Remington walks in wearing a white cotton shirt and gym shorts. And his hair is damp, as if he took a quick shower before coming here. "Sorry for the mess," I murmur, giving up on the cleaning since h

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Fixing It

"Hm. What is this?" I ask, starting to read. When I reach the important part, I stop and look back up at him, "Divorce." "That's not all," he says and urges me to continue, so I turn to the next paper, "In case you don't understand, that's me leaving everything in Ash's name. His legal name is Ashton Tate Doreen, right?" "Ashton Tate Doreen," I repeat and nod as I read my son's name in this document. There's a lot of '100%' here, "What if you have more kids?" "Without you, I won't," he easily responds. I gulp and look up again, trying not to show how much I liked hearing that, "I'll get rid of poor Sierra before she loses whatever’s left of her mind. I'm more than certain she is not pregnant, since we haven't had sex in over five months. After her, I won't take another wife, so... no more kids." "You can make a kid without a wife.” "I doubt it," he responds, "It's not like I'm interested in sex if it isn't with you." What a nice thought. My heart is eager to believe it, but

  • The Omega Who Walked Away   Unraveling

"Why are you always lurking, huh?” I growl as I follow her, "Where are you going?! Stop.” "I'm sorry," she lets out, stopping when we reach the empty dining room. She turns to me and lifts her hands, "I'm really sorry, I... I just can't help it.” "Can't help what?" I snap, looking at her soft face with narrowed eyes, "Stalking me? And who ordered that? Tatiana or Sierra?" "Neither of them," she whispers, looking down to the floor, then up to my eyes again, "Like Jessy said, people like us should stick together. And she's right, you know? I—I don’t think we shouldn't be treated the way we are just because we're omegas." "Yeah, duh. Congratulations on discovering that the world completely sucks and things should be different," I laugh, because that's simply a known fact, "What does that have to do with stalking me?" "Well, you're the only hope we have!” she blurts out in a frustrated way, "If we want things to be different, we have to fight for change. Nobody is going to look out f
