Vladimir was still here and had surprisingly not performed any action yet. What did he want? Was he going to head over to the party from here? Or did he have any other motive for being here? I wondered to myself as I dug into my files, searching for anything at all that I hadn’t worked on.

‘Scarlett,' I mind linked her.

It took a while till she responded, ‘yes, Alpha?’

‘Head over to my office. I’d like to discuss something with you.’

‘Okay, I’ll be there as soon as possible.’

After a while, Scarlett walked in.

“I noticed a few guards are no longer on duty. Do you have any idea why?"

“I fired a few of them for inappropriate behavior, but assigned new guards.”

“Though we need more guards at this point in the pack, I believe your decision should be right.”

“Yes, thank you.” She grinned and it seemed like her eyelashes fluttered at me coquettishly.

‘What the heck is wrong with this beta? Does she always have to hit on us at every chance she gets?' Drex rolled his eyes.
