My arms flailed wildly in the air as the person pulled me behind the trees. My screams were reduced to nothing by the fabric that covered my mouth. The person's strength was greater than mine so my effort was meaningless. When the person came to a halt, he appeared in front of me to stop me from running away and handed over a small envelope to me. Behind the envelope, it said, ‘I mean no harm. Be calm. Just open the envelope.’ in the same handwriting as last time. How could I trust this person? What if a bomb or something that could harm me that was inside the envelope? Out of curiosity, I opened the envelope and slipped out a photograph. There was a child in the picture who was facing backwards and was running into the arms of two people whose faces were cropped out. The photograph looked old, like it was taken many years ago. I lifted a confused brow at the person who nodded for me to continue. Lifting the photo up, there was a different note. 'Lift the paper up. And goodbye.’ “
I squealed and jumped out of the couch to grab the blanket on the bed and wrapped it around my body. Crystal still had her eyes widened in awe, her feet were glued to the floor as she fixed her focus on Alpha Keegan. Alpha Keegan trudged to the bed and sat beside me, getting rid of his wrist watch and shoes. “Mason is back.” He said to Crystal without looking at her and started unbuttoning his shirt. “Uh… o-okay.” She let out a sharp breath, fidgeting with her fingers. “Jane— Omega, you can use these ointments. I’ll leave them here. Meet up with me for proper and complete treatments later.” She quickly dropped two packs of what I assumed were ointments and closed her box before running out of the room and shut the door. I was still trying to catch my breath from the way I had screamed, while Alpha Keegan got rid of his shirt, not minding my presence. He rose from the bed and walked up to the table. His shirtless body drained my anxiety, the way his biceps moved around as he grabb
Scarlett had requested for me to bring her breakfast to her room. I knew it meant she had something to say. I headed to her bedroom and walked in after she permitted me to, serving her dinner on the table. “So, I’m confused again. I feel like I sounded stupid for mentioning the anniversary to Keegan and asking him to act like my boyfriend, at the sane time. It didn’t make any sense, right?” Of course it didn’t! But there was no way I was saying that to her. “I ought to have said it in a more playful manner.” Her eyebrows were curled upwards in worry. “The party is soon and I don’t know what to do. How am I supposed to go there without him? My parents would think I’m crazy for deceiving them.” she rumbled. “I’m sure it’ll be fine.” I had no idea on how I was supposed to help her, but I was glad she could confide in me. “No way! I want Keegan to come with me.” She groaned, burying her head in a pillow. “Gosh, I’m so frustrated!”“If he doesn’t—”“If he doesn’t come with me, my parent
I woke up from the not beautiful sleep of my life, the satisfaction could be felt from deep in my bones as I stretched my arms and legs out till I bumped into something a bit hard and also soft. I didn’t care to check and wrapped my arms around it, also placing my leg over the figure. “If you’re fully awake, you have to realize that I’m a living creature too.” Alpha Keegan's deep voice made me jerk awake and realize that his body was the figure. I quickly pulled away from him and sat up straight, my cheeks flushed with an embarrassed blush. “I'm so sorry.”“You have the worst sleeping habit ever.” He gruffed with a roll of his eyes, laying his head on the pillow properly. “Please forgive me. How am I even—” I remembered that he had asked me to sleep on his bed. It wasn’t my fault he insisted that I sleep on his bed. “I’m sorry.” I still added. He tilted his head, squinting his eyes at me like he was trying to derive information from the depth of my eyes. “Is there any problem?” I
~ JANE ~“I can’t believe he actually agreed!” Scarlett squeaked, throwing a dress into her suitcase. “What sort of magic do you possess?”“Magic? No, it’s just Chloe’s advice.” I waved a hand over my face.“Chloe? Who’s Chloe?”“An omega, from Night Shadow pack.”“Oh. That's new.”“She's such a great friend and I miss her so damn much.” I smiled.“I used to be your only friend. Shouldn’t I be jealous now?” She chuckled.“Why would you be?”“Anyway, I don’t know what magic Chloe possesses, but I’m very grateful to her. I can’t believe grumpy Keegan would agree. I&r
“…It’s so glad to finally see your face and speak to you again. The pack house has been very different without you around and to worsen it, Kim isn’t here anymore.” Chloe said and heaved a sigh. Hearing about Kim's death made memories of her murder flash in my head and weighed my livened mood down. “It’s fine, it’s fine. None of this is your fault.” She probably noticed the gloominess in my look since it was a video call. “I can’t help—”“Let's change the topic of discussion.” She cut me off. “Concerning seducing your Alpha, how is that turning out?” “I won't continue with that. There’s no point anymore.” “What do you mean?” “I’m no longer undergoing any punishments. Alpha Keegan has freed me from all my punishments.” “That’s great! My seduction tips definitely worked on him. There’s no way you’re stopping it now.” A proud grin spread her lips apart. I couldn’t tell her it wasn't because of her seduction tips but because the mate bond was affecting him. Telling her could cau
I continued searching everywhere for the omega, but there was still no sign of her. What the hell? Where could she be? I headed to Mrs. Bea’s chamber and burst the door open without thinking twice. “Mrs. Bea! Where is the omega?” Her eyes were widened by my barging in. She had a bunch of money in her hand that she quickly hid behind her. “Al-Alpha, you’re… here…”“I asked where the fuck is my omega?” she flinched at the loudness of my voice. “I have no idea where Jane is.”“Aren’t you in charge of assigning her to duties?” I asked with clenched fists and jaws. “Ye-yes, but I haven't seen her today. I was searching for her everywhere but couldn’t find her. I was mad that it had passed the time for her to make breakfast for the pack house, but she wasn’t doing that.”“Why didn’t you inform me about that?”“I had no idea… I mean, I was going to, I didn’t think she was missing or something, I only thought… I thought… I didn’t know, Luna mind-linked me while I was still searching for h
~ JANE ~ A bright light shone on my face , bright enough to pierce through my eyelids and literally feel like it was burning my eyes. I rolled around, hugging the soft blanket to my chest. It felt very relaxing and most importantly, I was way too comfortable which was very strange. My eyes snapped open, scanning around like a lost puppy. I was in Alpha Keegan’s room, on his bed, again— that explained the out of the world comfort, but why? I didn’t even remember going to bed last night. With a yawn, I rolled off the bed and sneaked into Alpha Keegan’s bathroom. It was way bigger than I had imagined, definitely bigger than my bedroom; the gold-theme of the bathroom made its luxury glisten, the bathtub had a classy glass slide, the toilet bowl looked way too exorbitant and neat, like something I could lick and still remain healthy, that was crazy, I know. I quickly washed my mouth and slipped in to take a shower, the fastest shower I had ever taken, before quickly slipping back to m
