Chapter 5

I opened my eyes as I regained consciousness. My head was throbbing and I groaned in pain, trying to sit up, but my hands were chained to the wall. I tried to wriggle off of the chains, but the more I did, the more my wrists burned, the chains were coated with silver.

I tried to remember how I got here, but my head was blank. I knew this wasn't the Moonfire Pack as these dungeons were bigger and scarier. But I couldn't remember what I did that made me end up in this place, again.

The cell gate opened and Alpha Victor came into view. I raised my head to look at him, only to see him smiling devilishly at me.

" You're awake, I see, " he stated, bending down to my position. That was when I remembered all that happened, me trying to escape, him catching me and throwing me off the building.

" You pushed me off the building, " I pointed out, but he only shrugged at me, trying to act oblivious.

" You tried to escape from me and no one does that, ever, " he replied and I scoffed, not seeing how that justified his actions.

" I know what I did was silly and I'm sorry. I tried to run away without thinking it through because I was scared. But I would have died, " I lamented.

" But you didn't, sadly, " he responded, pursing his lips together. My eyes widened at his words, he was a crazy person. I wriggled, trying to release myself from the chains, but I winced in pain instead.

" Don't try to force it, you're just hurting yourself and you know that. Since you tried to escape from me even after I told you that you can't leave, your friend, Julia has paid the price for it, " he informed and my eyes shot up to look at him.

" What did you do to her? " I asked as tears welled up in my eyes. " She has done nothing wrong, why would you make her pay for my mistake? ".

" Let's just say she has paid the price for your foolishness and trust me, if you keep up with this, she's going to end up dead in no time and you'll be responsible for her death, " he added, mischievous glint playing in his eyes.

" You should just punish me instead, don't try to use Julia to get me. I'm the one making the mistakes, I should be the one getting punished for it, " I pleaded, but he shook his head in refusal, standing up from the position he was staying in.

" I punish criminals by burning them with silver, making them inhale wolfsbane, and leaving them half-dead for another day. But for you, my Princess, your friend will be your punishment, " he stated with a tone of finality and began to walk away.

' he is a monster, an asshole, ' I said to myself as I watched him walk out of the cell. I couldn't believe he hurt Julia just because I tried to run away and the annoying part was that I couldn't say anything as that would put me in more serious trouble than I was already in.

A few minutes later, a guard came up and released me, helping me up from the floor. He motioned for me to follow him quietly, which I did without asking questions. Soon, we got into a different building from the one I was supposed to be staying at.

" Where are we? " I asked him, but he ignored me, entering the house and as much as I wanted to rebel until he answered my question, I had no option but to follow him. Julia's life was at stake here.

The house wasn't as big as the other one, wasn't furnished at all and had a few worn out chairs in the living room. Ladies were walking around, some stealing glances at me while others just passed without noticing me.

But there was one thing I had in common with them, we were all frail, looked sick and scared. That was when it dawned on me where this place was. The house of Omegas.

" Alpha ordered me to bring you to this place, this is where you'll be staying from now. Come with me, I'll show you your room, " he ordered and walked away, expecting me to follow him, which I did as I had no option.

We passed the living room and stopped in front of a passage that was filled with different doors. He walked to what seemed like the fifteenth door and opened it, entering inside.

I followed him inside, although annoyed by his rudeness of not knocking before entering. The room was bigger than the one I occupied in the Moonfire Pack, but it was still small. There were two small beds and a table separating the beds. The room was livable.

" You'll be staying here from now on. Sarah will come and tell you all you need to know about working here. You must behave or else, you'll be back to the dungeon, '' he warned before leaving the room.

I wanted to ask him who Sarah was, but he was already gone before I could ask, shutting the door at my face. I sneered at his rudeness, it was so easy to be nice, wasn't it?

I let out a sigh and looked around the room once more. There was no bathroom which meant I'll be sharing a bathroom with the other girls. My bag was already on one bed, so I took it as mine and sat on the edge of the bed not knowing what to do next. He said Sarah would come, so I decided to wait for her.

Suddenly, the door opened and I looked up to see who had entered the room. I stood up abruptly and my eyes widened. I walked to the door as a lone tear fell from my eyes, my fists clenched at both sides.

" I will never forgive Victor, " I blurted out.
