"Me? What do you mean by that?" I asked him.

“Isn’t it obvious that she is jealous? She doesn’t want you near her husband,” he said.

I nodded absentmindedly as I thought about what Conan had said. One of the things that had bothered me about this 'mission' was that I would basically be stealing another woman's mate and causing problems in their relationship.

However, seeing Trina earlier that day and the way she had spoken to and treated me had made my guilt ease off a bit.

Conan led me through the shiny and gaudy palace to a formal dining room that was just as extravagant as the rest of the palace. The walls were all decked out with gold trim, and a huge chandelier hung from the ceiling, lighting up the place.

The table was this long, shiny mahogany thing with fancy chairs around it. They had these cool patterns carved into them. On the table, there were fancy dishes and crystal glasses, making it clear they weren't messing around with the whole formal dinner thing.
