Chapter Fifty-Seven.

Himari’s POV.

Zorien leaves me in turmoil, strolling off to enter the bathroom while I lower my gaze to the pile, dropping on my knees as I go through them with a radiant bubble swelling in my chest.

I’m so excited to open them all! But, maybe I’ll keep them away first. I need to find Welma and also, someplace safe for the egg.

I glance at the bathroom door, rising on my feet. I hope he doesn’t step out just yet. ‘It’s best we hurry on now. I can feel Welma’s presence downstairs’ Runa chortles and I turn on my heels just then, sneaking out the door in the next minute.

I find Welma and Kitra on their way to my bedroom and we enter together, having Kitra bolt the door.

“It’s dangerous to play pretend with Zorien, these days he’s often inclined to taunt me more than usual” I complain, rushing to my bed and sitting on it. I handle the egg with care, placing it on the spot before me just as Oriel comes sneaking around my shoulders.

Welma perches onto the other side of the egg,
