Chapter 1: "Yeah, Boy"

Dylan Ashton

It's been months now since our band 'The Imperials' disbanded. After what happened to Emily, we decided that we just can't make music and perform without her, especially Luke. We became a one hit wonder that was almost at the top but now, we're rock bottom and only a few remembers us. After that tragedy, we went to our separate ways.

A month earlier, I decided to come live with my mom and her family for now at some hotel my mother owned in California since I have no place to stay yet. Soon, I'll probably leave again to take care of some of our family business.

It sucks not being able to make music but I enjoy some peace and quiet.

Here no one knew me.

"Mom, I'm heading outside, want me to buy you anything?" I asked

My mother replied, "I don't need anything, travel safe."

"I always do."

I went to a convenience store near our house wearing a grey sweatpants and a loose white shirt stunting that effortless look, with some hairpins on my blonde shaggy hair along with a big nerdy glasses I wore making me look childish as Luke once told me.

It's one of the perks I get being incognito from the spotlight. I can be anyone.

I bought some cookies and ice cream and while searching for some change in my pockets, I overheard the girl in line just behind me talking over her phone, it seems to be on speaker... while the girl carries tons of foods.

"Megumi, I can't believe it, it's been forever. I want to see him again." The girl behind me stated.

I wanted to interrupt her and say that she's on speaker but then...

The one on the phone, Megumi replied, "I know, I really miss the band, The Imperials."

"I don't care about the band, I'm not a fan but all I care about is Dylan Ashton... he's so cute like he's the kindest of them all, too bad, I couldn't see him anymore because they disbanded."

Crap.

She's a fan... I need to run before she notices I'm here, otherwise, she might draw attention and ruin my peaceful, fan-free life here.

I gave the cashier the money needed and took the foods I bought quickly and ran my way outside towards my house.

That was close... I took a deep breathe and opened our curtains to look at the view, too bad there's a hotel besides ours that's blocking some of the view. I turned on the tv and ate the foods I bought.

Olivia Summers

Geez, what's with that boy, suddenly running away like that? I continued to talk to my best friend, Megumi on phone.

"So how's your crush? The one you've been stalking?" Megumi asked

I replied, "I don't stalk, I investigate. Plus, I do that to all my crush... turns out they're all casanova, I don't want to fall in love with a casanova over and over again. I don't want a casanova boyfriend again."

"Ah, just to let you know Olivia, you never even had a boyfriend."

"That's because I'm still waiting for my one true love. He exist somewhere out here I can feel it." I replied with hope and continued, "Oh, got to go, bye, Megumi."

Then I ended our call, payed for the week supplies of foods I bought which I will eventualy devour in just a day or two. Hey don't judge, we've all been there.

Just when I was about to leave, the lady cashier called out, "Hey, ms. hopeless romantic, yeah you, Olivia, right?"

"What makes you think I'm a hopeless romantic?!" I declared while flipping my shoulder-length brunette hair with confidence trying to make it seem that I'm desirable.

"Well, you believe in true love, you love seriously that you even stalk them, you never even had a boyfriend, oh and that stacks of Nicholas Sparks' novels you've been carrying." The cashier continued, "Next time, you might want to turn the speaker of your phone off."

I feel my cheeks flush red from embarrassment.

"I'm not a hopeless romantic!" I objected, "I am simply... waiting for the right guy!"

"Whatever you say, miss, now, please kindly pick up your keys, you dropped them."

I picked up the keys and said, "This is not mine."

"Then it probably belongs to the boy earlier, kindly give it to him."

I looked at the key properly and noticed a name tag there, "It has a name tag...Dylan... WHAT?! DYLAN ASHTON?!!" I shouted with glee, "This must be destiny! I knew it, he's my one true love!"

"You do know there's quite a lot of boy who has that name. It's a pretty common nam-"

I cut off the cashier and declared, "No, let's be optimistic and strongly believe that it truly is Dylan Ashton, he who is destined to be with me. He's my prince charming."

After that cheesy but romantic for me statement so go cringe, I decided to go to the hotel he's checking in, if he's room 144, I'll take room 143, oh my gosh?! 143 stands for 'I love you' according to most movies I've watched.

It must truly be fate that we meet.

But then, after looking at the prices per room, it was too expensive for me... who in the right mind will check in here? What makes it so expensive? Do they serve gold there as breakfast?

Ah then again... Dylan is a superstar after all.

No, I must be optimistic, this is fate's way of telling me not to give up on us no matter how hard the circumstances are.

I can feel it. Destiny is testing me, I must not yield.

I checked all my savings which is for my future travels and I hesitantly pace back and forth back in my room. It's still not enough. I can check in for two days tops. Ah... this is hopeless.

But then, recklessly, I checked in instead the hotel besides his' since it's cheaper and took the room that has a perfect view on his room- the one perfectly across him.

I quickly arranged my room and fixed everything, after moving in, I took a bath and tied my hair in a perfect bun with an oversized sunflower headress and my pastel blue dress, white stockings and floral sandals.

I took my binoculars and saw Dylan heading outside so I also did.

Okay... I maybe a tad... investigative.

As I head out, I followed him all the way to the riverside he went to. Dylan stopped to look at the beautiful sunset but can't he see he's way more beautiful than the view itself? With that perfectly structured face, captivating deep blue eyes and sparkling blonde hair that seems to be sculpted by the gods themselves.

He truly is...

I was lovestruck as I stated, "I knew it... It really is you... Dylan Ashton."

Upon hearing those, he was surprised as he looked at me. He captured my attention, made my heart stops and listen as he looked my way. You got that something in you eyes, and if you ever wondered if I want to make you mine... Yeah, boy.

I walked near him one step at a time, by then I knew... My summer romance has began.
