Panic seized me, a suffocating wave threatening to drown me. "Father, please, don't do this to me," I choked out, my voice trembling. "I can't live without you and Mother."

"I've always wanted to do something for you, at least once in your lifetime," he said, his voice a low rumble of resolve. "You should run now. I will protect you from here."

"I don't want that! Let's run, please!" I spat, the words laced with desperation. With a surge of strength I didn't know I possessed, I dragged him from his spot. But as I turned, my heart plummeted. We were already surrounded.

Seraphina's arrival was as dramatic as ever. My gaze snapped behind me, and there she stood, her exquisite face a mask of cold indifference, regarding me as if I were no more than an insect. "I told you I would come back for you."

"You are evil!" my father roared, his aged voice cracking with fury. "You should protect us, but you're killing us!"

"Haha!" Seraphina’s laughter was a cruel, sharp sound. "Exactly. I protect the wolves who will forever remain beneath me. I do not protect threats to my throne." With that, she launched a brutal attack, her sword aimed directly at me.

My father shoved me, pulling me behind him, and the blade slid into his belly.

His eyes, wide and unseeing, went lifeless before me.

I swallowed, a silent scream trapped in my throat, as I watched my father crumple to the ground. Helpless, I knelt, cradling him in my arms.

My mother's grave.

My father's lifeless body.

All I wanted was to cease existing.

"No!" I screamed, my voice tearing from my lungs as I flung my gaze to the heavens.

Seraphina chuckled, a sound devoid of warmth.

"I expected that!" she declared, taking a deep, satisfied breath. "Now that all your protectors are gone, I'd like to see who will save you the next time I strike." Her eyes, sharp and triumphant, were fixed on me.

"What did I ever do to you?" I whispered, my voice raw with grief.

"Accept the rejection and depart this pack if you want a better life," Seraphina's loyal Delta responded for her, her voice laced with a chilling finality. She vowed as she walked away, leaving me with the ghost of victory in her eyes.

Accept the rejection?

I sniffled, wiping away tears, and pushed myself to my feet, the weight of my life’s unfolding crushing me. Would it have been better to reject the Alpha and die, rather than witness my parents, two gentle souls, suffer because of a mate bond I never desired?

I carried my father’s body to a secluded corner and began to dig his grave, right beside my mother’s, my tears falling like rain.

Hours later, he was buried. Night was already beginning to descend.

Would it be too late to reject the bond now?

If I rejected it, I would die. But at what cost?

My parents were gone. They would likely haunt me in the afterlife if I let their sacrifice be for nothing.

"Nothing, not even the Moon Goddess who has forsaken me, will spare you from your destined tears, Seraphina," I muttered, my voice hardening with a newfound resolve. "I know I am powerless now, but I will be your karma in this life." I took a deep breath, my gaze fixed on my parents' graves.

I took another breath.

There was nothing left for me here. Only these graves.

I turned and fled my father's compound.

As I neared the pack borders, the familiar thunder of approaching horses reached me. I dropped to the ground, scrambling into the thick bushes, pulling leaves and branches over myself, praying I was hidden. The sounds faded, and I let out a shaky sigh of relief.

Emerging from my hiding place, I ran until I reached the borders. I paused for a moment, looking back. "Goodbye!" I whispered, and then I plunged past the borders of the Blackwood Pack. Without a second thought, I ran for my life.

I ran until my lungs burned and the forest grew thick and dark. Exhausted, I collapsed onto the soft earth. Looking up, I saw the faint shimmer of water and realized I was near a very classy fountain.

Grateful, I stumbled towards it, drinking deeply. The water was surprisingly clean, its taste comforting.

I scanned my surroundings. No sign of anyone. Not even a rogue. This was unlike the tales I'd heard of this forest. I drank until I could no more, then lay beside the fountain, succumbing to sleep.

A gentle tap on my shoulder jolted me awake the next morning. The touch sent a jolt of fear through me. My eyes squeezed shut. I couldn't bear to meet the gaze of a rogue. "I'm not evil," I pleaded, my voice a desperate whisper. "I'm sorry if I trespassed, but I have nowhere else to go." I braced myself, fearing the worst – rape, or worse.

"Get up, little dove! This is my territory. No one here bothers the innocent." An elderly voice, surprisingly gentle, soothed my fears.

I paused, then slowly opened my eyes. White hair framed a kind, weathered face. An elderly woman stood before me.

Relief washed over me. "You won't kill me?" I asked, my voice still shaky.

"That's not in my dictionary. Not to an innocent girl craving protection," she replied with a warm smile. "Follow me!"

I scrambled to my feet and hurried behind her. She led me around the fountain, and after a few minutes, welcomed me into a secluded building nestled deep within the forest. "Welcome to my secluded tavern!" she announced brightly. I looked around, surprised to see other wolves inside.

This part of the forest, it seemed, was not a place of chaos. Here, everyone lived peacefully under this woman's gentle rule. "Who are you?" I asked, my surprise evident.

"I'm the infamous Madame Evangeline," she declared, her eyes twinkling. "The purest, oldest, and most solitary werewolf in this forest. And this is my tavern. I love to cook and make wolves feel warm. But don't get too comfortable, because I'm not about to let you grow lazy." She moved towards the counter, pulling out an astonishing number of dishes, her gaze occasionally flicking towards me.

"You'll give me shelter, and in exchange, I have to wash all these dishes?" I asked, my voice filled with disbelief. The pile of dishes seemed insurmountable, more than three she-wolves could handle.

"Are you going to do it or not? This is your new home. You are always welcome, but you must work," Madame Evangeline stated, nudging a pot towards the dishes with her foot. "Here!" She then handed me a covered plate.

I touched it; it was warm. Glancing at her, I opened it, my eyes widening at the sight of steaming, delicious-looking porridge. "This is mine?" I asked, astonished. I couldn't recall ever being cared for by a stranger.

Madame Evangeline scratched her head and sat near the counter. "Just so you have the strength. You won't just have shelter and a home; you'll have food as well as clothing. You should really change out of that dress. It looks like you're about to walk down some aisle, and it's dirty too."

"Sure it is! I hear it when you moan like you're going to disappear and return whenever you like," I told her, and she nodded her head, looking spicy. For some reason, I felt in the mood. This hasn't happened to me in a while. I sat up straight and tried to get myself together because I knew the alpha was nowhere around me."If you want it, I can help you have a taste," she said to me, and I took up my skirt to view the nature of my pussy. It was dripping wet."What do you intend to do?" I asked her."Depends on what you want," she said to me and slid her hands down my thighs. "I forgot to tell you I'm bisexual. I could do the sucking for you if you'd like," she opened up.I froze.Really?"Umm, no, I think that will be a bad idea. Don't worry, I'd prefer we keep our relationship clean," I said, getting up."I thought as much. In that case, I have no option but to respect that, but just in case you need me, you know you can always come here, right?" she said, and I nodded in agreement

I watched in shock, speechless and at the same time confused by how fast things turned.Kate was literally having sex right in front of me, yet it felt like nothing to both of them? I thought, not believing my eyes."How was it?" he asked her right after they were done, and she took a deep breath. "My damn cash," she said to him, and he threw her a stack of cash."Here! Thanks!" he said as he walked away.Kate visited the bathroom for a moment and returned looking refreshed. She then sat down close to me. "You could join us, you know. He would have paid double," she said to me, and I didn't know if I needed to feel offended by that."Actually, I don't fancy any other man that isn't my mate," I said to her, and she laughed."I think I get that. But being clean for these guys has never been worth it," she spat.I didn't think I wanted to talk about it further and just got up to leave.I walked back to my room with Lena and found her staring at the television on the wall. "This sounds really good," I couldn't help but say."Yes, it does. Haven't you always been worried that no one will treat you and help you get better from the aftermath of rejection? We can get that solved for you. It shouldn't be that serious when I'm here and Madame Evangeline is alive," she told me, and I felt better in that moment."That means I can reject him too and see if I will still feel this longing," I said to her."I doubt you will feel any longing for the man who has brought nothing but pain to you," she replied, and I accepted that.We had a great night gisting about a lot of things, and when she fell asleep, our muscles stayed relaxed until the next morning.I sat up and looked around me. She was still asleep, so I walked into the bathroom to get cleaned up for the day before dressing. The doorbell rang, and when I opened it, it was a cook. She served us our morning meal and then left. I ate some of it and left the other half for Lena, knowing she wasn't going to wake u

"Are you sure?" she asked again, visibly worried."Yes, I'm very sure. Just say where he is," I said to her, and she pointed."The next two rooms after this one," she said, and I turned to leave.Giving my body away has never been a big deal for me. I had been doing it just for pleasure for years; there's nothing wrong with doing it to protect the one I love.Honestly, no one had ever made me feel love in a way that Sunshine had made me feel. I feel like no matter my efforts, it will never be in vain. Sunshine is a pure girl, filled with love and good luck. I wished she could see just how much she meant to the universe; she will select who dares speak to her.I walked to the door of the room she mentioned and hesitated before knocking on the door. After some unsuccessful attempts, I realized no one would actually hear me, and my eyes caught the doorbell. Without hesitation, I rang the doorbell. Before I could ring it again, the door opened, revealing a horny-looking man. His face look

It took us about thirty minutes to be ready for the day. I stepped down after breakfast and got to work, cleaning from stair to stair. When it was noon, Elena walked up to me. "You should clean the pool, and tomorrow, you should focus on the rooms. That way, your work will make more sense," she said to me with a bland expression. "I will give you a roster tomorrow. That way, you'll know what you have to do each day," she added, and I nodded as I watched her walk out.I rolled my eyes, then went to the pool with the cleaning equipment and got to work.By the time I was done cleaning that huge pool, it was already dark. I retired to the bedroom and quickly walked into the bathroom to clean up. "Food is ready," Lena said to me the moment I walked out, and I nodded as I sat close to her.I looked at the food and was surprised to see yams. My favorite."That look in your eyes is magnetic. I love it. Keep it that way," she said to me, and I laughed."That's because I saw my favorite food,"

"Yes, you were," I replied. "You were more than fair. We can still live our lives with everyone at our beck and call. It's all because of you." I told her, and she smiled. "Grateful! These men don't deserve anything, and that's why I'm not worried about giving myself a price on top. Like, 'Pay me, give me fun, and get the fuck out,'" she said, and we laughed. We were both offered a room and promised three square meals every day. I smiled as I stared out of the window. It was nighttime already.Twenty minutes later, we heard a knock on the door. We both looked at the door and the food we were about to eat, and couldn't help but wonder who was there. Lena opened the door, and a man was standing there with his erection already visible. "Wanna have some fun, girl?" he asked with a sly smile."Not in the mood," she said and slammed the door on his face, making sure to lock it right after.I burst into laughter, and we got right into eating. The next morning, I woke up, still dressed in t
