Amber could see something was bugging Sam as she walked back into the conference room. She stood and met her at the coffee table.

“What’s wrong?” She asked quietly. She shut out the conversations behind her, her focus on Sam. “Baby?”

“We need to talk about Addi, but we can do that after we deal with this.”

“What’s wrong with Addi?”

“Nothing.” Sam rubbed a hand over her face. “We need to talk to Diane too, she’s matured,” Sam said. “Addi, she’s a mature wolf, and she’s in heat.”

“No, she’s three, Sam, that’s impossible.” Amber shook her head. “There’s a mistake.”

“No, I ran into them on the way back, Tris and Addi, Addi apparently chose Tris to talk to. We’ve been a bit busy, and she didn’t want to worry us.”

“What?” Amber snapped then tried to lower her voice. “She should know she comes first!”
