Caspian's Pov

The house was quiet. It had only been a few hours since Nyx left, but it already felt like days. The walls echoed with silence, mocking me. Her scent was still in the sheets, still on the pillow beside mine, still lingering in the air like a ghost refusing to leave.

I walked around aimlessly. From the bedroom to the kitchen, then to the living room, and back again. Every corner of the house reminded me of her. Her laughter. Her soft voice. Her small touches. The way she always left her books scattered across the coffee table. The way she hummed under her breath while cooking. Even the way she used to roll her eyes when I teased her.

She said she needed to go, to find the cure to my pain. That she needed time away.

But I knew the truth, she was running.

Running from the way I made her feel. Running from the way she looked at me when she thought I wasn’t watching. Running from the bond that was growing between us. I knew it because I was feeling the same way. I was scared
