Nyx’s Pov
“Alpha Caspian," the guard called. Alpha Caspian…. I've never heard of an alpha with that name before. He was definitely not from the neighboring Nashville town. " What is it?” Alpha Caspian uttered. " Which of your mistresses should we release? That fool is making a scene again,” the guard explained. “Deal with it yourself,” he sighed, clenching his fist. “You can go." The guard didn't move after Caspian dismissed him, his face was blank but his stance was firm like he feared what would happen if he left… or maybe it was something else. Caspian turned his head slightly, “What are you still waiting for? Can't you see I'm busy?” His expression was getting slightly irritated. “I just thought…giving them the last two would not favor you and it's my job to look after you.” “I didn't ask that from you. Just do what I asked you and stop poking around.” His voice was calm and quiet, like he was holding back the urge to kill. The man moved closer to Caspian, he didn't look at me but I saw the amusement in his eyes as he approached Caspian. I sat quietly, managing my attention drifted away from them but my ears were strained to listen to what they were talking about. He leaned in, “I assume if we give out the rest of your mistresses, there'll be no one left to ease your pain.” He said in a hushed voice, but loud enough for me to hear. Caspian didn't respond immediately, I caught the tension in his jaw. Whatever pain they were talking about it wasn't something he'd like to hear. “And I said, you should take care of it.” He finally said, “Handle it as you've always done and nothing must go wrong or your life goes with it.” The man nodded and headed towards the door, slipping out silently. Caspian and I were alone again. I stayed in place, frozen and still sitting on the edge of the bed they had thrown me into. Then Caspian turned to me, his gaze was eerily uncomfortable. “Get up,” he said. I couldn't move at first. I heard everything and pretended not to, did he catch on? What was he going to do, molest me? He stepped closer, and lifted my chin, “Didn't you hear me? I said get up.” I stood slowly and gently, unsure of what would come next. For some reason, I was more curious than scared. “Take off your dress.” He said sharply, My breath caught in my throat “What?” I yelled loudly. I expected a lot of things but certainly not this. “This jerk.” I thought to myself. “i didn't stutter and I certainly wasn't speaking another language. You heard me, take your damn clothes off,” he said. “Don't you think it's wrong for you to tell me to take off my dress? That's totally inappropriate.” I protested, clutching unto my dress. He chuckled and my whole body hitched. Rage and humiliation flushed through me. They were all the same, of course…. Why did I think otherwise ? “If you want to kill me or torture me, do it. You want to make me your slave like Draven asked….” “Draven?” He muttered. “Yes, Draven! Why? You brought me from his pack. So, kill me if you want to. That'll be much better than living my life as a mistress for someone who trades people like possessions.” He scoffed. “But you are my possession.” he said as he pressed his index finger on my lips. “So, take off your clothes as I asked or I'll stop being nice.” “Never!” I know I shouldn't be this brave… but even if ur meant I die I would not have some scumbag control me again. Caspian sighed and looked me in the eyes. For a second I forgot how those silver colors of his eyes scared me, but after he talked casually? They looked pretty and fierce. And He chuckled, “What kind of man would you strip for, then? The man who deceived you or the one that sold you off?” I stayed silent, completely out of words. He won. His words dug up things that had happened this past few days…. My mind drifted to Liam for a minute, “My son.” I muttered without knowing, an excessive drop of tears filled the holes in my eyes. Caspian rolled his eyes and tossed something at me, a folded black dress. “Change your dress.” He ordered. “Unless you'd rather walk through this pack looking like a stray.” I hesitated, then turned my back. “Don't look," I muttered as I slipped into the dress. The fabric was soft and warm, expensive….I was sure. But it still felt like wearing someone else's skin.. When I turned around, he was already pulling a chair forward. He motioned to the one opposite him. “Sit,” he ordered. I obeyed, cautiously. He studied me for a moment before speaking. “Where were you born?” he asked. I blinked. The question caught me off guard. “Why does it matter?” “I told you. I own you now and you listen to me. So, I'm asking questions, and you're still alive which means you have to answer them!” I swallowed. Why was he all grumpy now? And what was that about his possession? I was definitely his slave. “Aren't you going to answer?” “You don't even know where your bought slave was born? Do you just buy things without checking?” I replied with a purpose of irritating him. “So you agree now that you're my possession.” “No! I agree I'm your slave.” “Seriously? With that dress on you?” “What does it matter? Why won't you just kill me?” I yelled. He frowned, raised my chin, “And let everything I’ve been planning go to waste because of your ignorance?” I frowned. “What are you planning? And what do you want to do with me!?” “That's not your business. Just keep in mind you're alive because of me and I'll do anything to keep it that way.” I narrowed my eyes, “So, you're not going to kill me?” “No,” he said simply. “I took you from Draven. That means you owe me and you'll pay me back…. Soon.” “I don't have anything to pay back. You should just kill me now or send me back to my son.” He scoffed, “What makes you think you have a say in this?” “Honestly I don't know," I admitted. “But what could I possibly have to give you?” I hissed, “I'm a ripped Luna, I am broken. You already have everything, except maybe respect—just like the other Alphas.” A dangerous smile spread on his lips. “If only you were that sharp when you were with Zade,” he said mockingly. “Maybe then you'd have understood what love is.” I snapped, “ I won't sit here and let you laugh at me. Put me out of your twisted game.” “What about your son? You don't want to see him again?” I froze, his voice dipped even lower. “You'd really let your sister win? And let Zade leave you like that? You are easier than I thought.” I shook my head slowly. “It's pointless. I don't have the power to, it'll just be a fail and make things worse.” Caspian leaned closer. “Well…. What if we signed a deal?”Nyx's Pov Warm lips brushed over mine. Soft at first, then firmer. I stirred, blinking against the light that was just beginning to filter through the curtains.“Good morning,” Caspian whispered, his voice still husky with sleep.I smiled and sighed against his kiss. “I love my mornings like this.”His chest shook with laughter. “Mornings that start with me?”“Yes,” I teased, wrapping my arms around his neck. “Don’t you dare stop. Ever.”He kissed me again, longer this time, before pulling back just enough to look at me. His eyes shone in a way that made my chest ache.“I’m happy,” he said softly.I brushed my hand over his jaw. “I can see that.”“No, Nyx,” he whispered, kissing the corner of my lips. “I mean it. I’m very happy. You. Liam. And soon… our baby will be here.”My smile widened. “Yes. Soon.”But before I could say more, the door burst open.“Mama!”Liam’s little voice carried through the room like a song. He ran in, his small feet pattering against the wooden floor. I bar
Caspian's Pov The sound of drums carried through the courtyard, soft at first, then louder as the evening went on. Torches lit every corner, laughter and music filling the air. Humans and wolves danced side by side, the walls of separation gone at last. And there she was, sitting beside me.Nyx.Her hair caught the glow of the fire, her lips curved into a smile that made my chest ache. She leaned toward me every now and then, whispering small things, her fingers brushing mine. For the first time in years, I felt peace.“You’re quiet,” she said softly, her head tilting to look at me.I smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Just watching you.”Her cheeks warmed. “Why?”“Because you’re beautiful. Because I can finally breathe knowing you’re here, safe, with me.”Her smile grew, her eyes bright. “I am happy, Caspian. Truly.”I swallowed, my throat tight. “Are you?”She nodded without hesitation. “Yes. Happier than I have ever been.”The words nearly broke me. I kissed her han
Nyx's Pov When I reached for Caspian through the mindlink, I wasn’t sure it would work. My voice had been weak, my strength nearly gone. But something in me had whispered to try to call his name one last time. To see if he would hear me.And then, he came. The sound of chains rattling echoed in the dungeon before the door slammed open. My heart stopped when I saw him standing there, framed in the doorway. His shoulders broad, his chest rising and falling, his eyes burning like fire. And in his arms was Liam.Tears blurred my vision. He looked alive, safe, untouched. And Caspian…oh, Caspian his eyes watered as they landed on me. For a second, he didn’t move. He just stood there, staring at me like I was something holy, like he was afraid that if he blinked, I would disappear.“Nyx…” His voice cracked on my name. It wasn’t just a word. It was a prayer. My lips trembled. I tried to push myself up from the floor, but my body gave out. He moved instantly, crossing the room in two long str
Caspian's Pov The moment the circle flared around me, I knew I was trapped. I couldn't move an inch. I was stuck in the circle and I hated it. I felt the fire burn against my skin, a heat that went straight to my bones. Every time I tried to move forward, pain shot through me, tearing at my muscles, ripping at my chest. I dropped to one knee, my claws digging into the ground, my breath harsh and ragged. I felt utterly helpless. The word echoed in my head like a curse. I was the Alpha, the one everyone looked to, the one Nyx trusted with her life. But here I was, on my knees, trapped like a weakling, my power locked away by a witch’s spell. I had failed her. I had failed Nyx. Failed the child she carried. Failed Liam. I slammed my fists into the ground, trying to break the circle, but the fire only flared brighter. Agony tore through my chest and I roared, but it was useless. The harder I fought, the stronger the pain became. From outside the circle, Zade’s laughter cut throu
Zade's Pov When I left the dungeon with Nyx’s blood in my hands, I felt a sense of satisfaction. Draven following close behind me. When I entered my room, Keira was already there, waiting like she always did, her eyes sharp, hungry for answers. She stood by the window, arms folded, her gaze snapping to the vial in my hand. “You got it,” she said softly. I held it up between us, the dark liquid swirling inside. “Her blood.” Her lips parted. “And what will you do with it?” I smirked, walking over to the table and setting the vial down carefully. “What I should have done long ago. Drink it.” Draven shifted behind me, uneasy. “Are you sure it will work, Zade? What if blood alone isn’t enough? What if…” I turned on him sharply, my voice like a whip. “Silence.” He dropped his gaze. I picked up the vial again, uncorked it, and held it close. For a second, the scent hit me so hard I nearly lost control. Nyx’s blood. Her power. Her life. All mine. Without hesitation, I tilted the v
Caspian's Pov The fortress loomed in front of us like a shadow that refused to move. We had been camped outside for hours, watching, waiting, listening for any sound, any sign of her. My chest felt like it was being ripped open with every passing minute. Nyx was inside. I knew it. I felt it. Rowan came up behind me, his voice low. “We caught one.” My head snapped around. “Where?” “By the east wall. He was trying to sneak out, probably to report. Kyle and I dragged him into the tent. He’s chained already.” A growl rumbled in my throat before I could stop it. Finally. I had been itching to kill something, anything, and now I had my chance. I stalked through the camp, my warriors parting without a word. The air was thick with tension. Everyone knew what was coming. War was sitting on the edge, waiting for me to give the command. When I entered the tent, I saw him immediately. One of Draven’s men. His hands were chained, his face pale, his body shaking. Rowan stood beside him, a
