General Zackary sighed and for a second she could see fatigue on his face. Gwen knew obviously that everyone here was probably exhausted. The General was probably using excessive anger to hide the fact that he was tired.
"No one can run that course blindfolded and I am not in the mood to see anyone try." he regained his scowl and pointed his finger at Gwen. "You seem to be more than willing to do whatever it takes to join so I'll humor you, for now, I expect nothing but diligence from you and if I see you slacking even one bit, you're out."
That was all he said before he turned back around to face the other soldiers.

It has been a week and Gwen can say that the life she was living was not something she would get used to any time soon. With the intense training that stretched into the late hours of the night, to the fact that they had to get up, right as the sun broke past the horizon. Gwen's days all began to blur together. Everything became a routine for her and most of her days looked the same. The drills and exercises, the same food and same people. The thought of an attack was the first thing that popped into her head when she rushed outside with the others. Gwen could feel her heartbeat and could hear her blood rushing through her veins. For those few minutes of uncertainty, the reality of war became very prominent as the soldiers all waited to see what would happen next.
