Breaking Points

Author: Ada
(Freya's POV)

The sound of hangers dragging across the closet rod echoed in the quiet room. Each scrape felt heavier than the last as I pulled out my clothes. I folded them neatly and placed them in the suitcase lying open on the bed. My hands were trembling, but I refused to let them falter.

The quiet didn’t last long.

Aaron's steps thundered down the hallway. My heart skipped a beat, but I didn’t stop moving. He swung the door open without a word, his presence filling the entire room like a storm.

His eyes landed on the two suitcases, one half-packed, the other already full. The open wardrobe, with half the clothes missing, didn’t escape his notice either.

"What are you doing?" His voice was quieter than I expected—but cold, sharp, and cutting all the same.

"I’m packing," I replied, my tone even. My hands continued folding as though I didn’t hear him.

"For what?" He stepped closer, his boots heavy on the wood floor. "Running away, are you?"

That made me stop. I met his gaze,

(Christopher's POV)I watched as Aaron poured another glass of whiskey. His hand was steady, but his eyes were not. The golden glow was brighter now, a warning that Logan, his wolf, was creeping closer to the edge.“That's his tenth glass,” Lucas muttered beside me, his brows creased in worry. “Even for an Alpha, this is insane.”I nodded. “This isn't right.”Aaron drained his glass in one long gulp, slamming it down on the bar with a force that made the wood groan. “Another,” he barked. The bartender, Mike, glanced at me hesitantly. “Do I…?” he mouthed, but I shook my head. As a lower-rank wolf, Mike couldn’t refuse Aaron. None of us really could.Mike grabbed the whiskey bottle with trembling hands and refilled Aaron's glass.“Alpha,” Lucas finally spoke, voice low. “Maybe you should slow down.”Aaron's head turned to Lucas sharply, his eyes now glowing gold-red, blending dominance with fury. Nothing a wolf said with that look could be good. His energy filled the bar, making

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Night of Regrets

(Freya's POV)I stared at my reflection in the mirror, absently combing through my hair. The strands fell over my shoulders, but my mind wasn’t focused on my appearance. My gaze was fixed on the light curve of my still-flat stomach. My hand unconsciously rested there, protective over the life growing inside me.Bella stirred within me, restless. She reflected everything I felt — the pain, the anger, the confusion. My wolf was so used to keeping calm and strong for the pack, but this moment was testing her composure.I set the brush down, but the tension in my body refused to leave. It had been a long day. The argument with Aaron, Caroline’s visit, the document she tried to bribe me with — it all tore at me, refusing to loosen its grip.“You did the right thing,” I muttered softly, my voice only audible to Bella. My wolf whimpered in agreement, though she remained uneasy. With a deep breath, I turned away from the mirror. Sleep might help clear my head. I tugged the covers back fro

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Night of Choices

(Chris's POV)Supporting Aaron was no easy task. A drunk Alpha wasn’t just heavy; his wolf energy hit like a storm, wild and untamed. Lucas stuck close as we lugged him out of the Silver Moon Bar. Caroline hovered nearby, her heels clicking on the pavement with sharp precision."Let me help." Caroline's tone was warm and sweet, but there was steel beneath it. She wasn’t asking—she was stating. Her hands darted to Aaron, brushing his arm lightly. "We should take him to my territory," she added confidently as though the decision had already been made.Lucas readily nodded, his admiration for Caroline clear. "It makes sense, Chris. She probably knows how to handle him better than anyone."I stopped walking, tightening my hold on Aaron. My wolf bristled. This wasn’t merely about where Aaron slept tonight. There was something deeper, more weighted, in Caroline’s urgency."He’s coming with me," I said firmly. I kept my voice calm but left no room for argument.Caroline blinked, clearl

**(Aaron’s POV)**Chris stood by the counter, a steaming mug of coffee in his hands. He leaned casually, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips as he looked over at me.“Rough night?” he asked, amusement laced in his tone.I didn’t reply immediately. My head felt like it had been split into two, and Logan was restless within me. The wolf wasn’t aggressive, but he wasn’t calm either. That unsettled me.“I don’t need commentary,” I muttered, massaging my temple.Chris raised an eyebrow, clearly unfazed by my mood. “Fair. But you might want to know something.”I straightened up slightly, sensing he wasn’t just here to make small talk.“I called Freya last night,” he said, his voice taking on a more serious edge. His words hit me harder than expected. I tried not to react, but Logan surged, needing to know more. I kept my expression neutral, unwilling to give Chris the satisfaction of seeing how those words affected me.“And?” I asked, feigning indifference.Chris tilted his head,

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Debt of Honor

(Freya's POV)Emily’s face lit up as she twirled her spoon in her coffee, her excitement nearly spilling over onto the table. She leaned forward, her elbow dangerously close to my nearly empty teacup.“Just think about it, Freya! If it’s a little boy, he could grow up to be the strongest warrior in the pack!” Her voice was bubbling with enthusiasm, and she practically bounced in her seat. “Or—oh, oh! What if it’s a girl? She could be a diplomat like you, but even better! A smart and stunning little she-wolf!”I tried to smile, I really did, but my heart wasn’t in it. Her excitement felt misplaced. Warm, but misplaced. I stirred my tea and stared at the light ripples on the surface, my voice quiet as I replied, “I haven’t really thought about it that way, Emily.”She blinked at me, her enthusiasm faltering, only briefly. “What? Why not? This is big, Freya!”I shook my head, my lips pulling into a thin line. “It feels too early to dream like that. There are other things I need to fo

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Pack Bonds and Pride

(Freya's POV)The memory of my father's recovery replayed in my mind as I sat quietly in the corner of Birch Tree Café. I could still hear the strain in his voice, the weight of our family’s defeat thick in the air back then."Freya," my father had said, his voice remarkably steady despite his broken body lying in the hospital bed. His pale face had contrasted sharply with the strong Alpha he'd once been. "We must repay Caroline Redwood for what she has done."I had stared at him in disbelief, gripping the side of his hospital bed tightly. His breathing had been strained, but there was fierce determination in his eyes. A determination that refused to accept the reality of our situation."Father," I had replied, my voice barely above a whisper. "We’ve lost nearly everything. How can we talk about repayment when we have nothing left to give?"My father's expression had hardened, his gaunt face drawn with the pride of a once-feared Alpha. "We haven’t lost everything," he had shot bac

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Morning Visit

(Freya's POV)"He's just resting after a late night handling pack business," I lied, forcing a calm and practiced tone. Each word felt like a betrayal, heavy against my tongue. Beside me, my wolf Bella shifted uneasily, sensing my discomfort.Elder Katherine’s sharp eyes lingered on me for a moment, searching for something unsaid. Her gaze carried the wisdom of years as Alpha female, and for a moment, I thought she might press further. But instead, she sighed delicately, nodding."Our Alpha's duties can be quite demanding," she replied. Her voice was soft, but her tone carried a faint flicker of disappointment she didn’t bother to hide.My throat tightened. I couldn’t meet her gaze for long. “Yes,” I murmured, lowering my head slightly as though in agreement. But we both knew it was an excuse, one that barely held together. He should have been here. He *always* came to visit her with me. And yet this morning, his absence cut into the air like a sharp blade. Before she could dwell

(Freya's POV)Aaron’s voice was relentless through the mate mind link. He was clearly seething. "*Move closer, Freya,*" his tone was sharp, controlled, but laced with unmistakable irritation. "*You're making it too obvious.*"I swallowed the lump in my throat. My feet felt rooted to the ground, but I forced myself to step closer to him. Each step felt heavier than the last. Bella whimpered uneasily inside me, her mistrust mirroring my own feelings.Reluctantly, I moved close enough for him to reach out. He wasted no time grabbing my hand, his grip firm, almost possessive. The contact made my chest tighten. I didn’t want this, didn’t want to feel him right now—not after everything. The faint trace of Caroline’s scent still lingered on him, subtle but sharp enough to cut right through me.Elder Katherine immediately noticed and her face softened. Her sharp eyes sparkled with satisfaction as she saw us walking hand in hand. “Ah, now this is better,” she said warmly, her voice full of

My conversation with Caroline had left me with more questions than answers, and Aaron's sudden refusal to sever our mate bond made absolutely no sense. My phone buzzed in my purse. I pulled it out, surprised to see Marcus Cross's name on the screen."Hello, Marcus," I answered, trying to keep my voice neutral despite my turbulent emotions."Hello, Little Snow," his warm voice replied. "I see you're at the pack headquarters. Just leaving?"I froze mid-step, glancing around the parking lot. "How did you know I'm here?"A soft chuckle came through the phone. "Look to your right, near the oak tree."Following his directions, I spotted a familiar black SUV parked a short distance away. Marcus stood beside it, phone in hand, waving at me.I ended the call and walked toward him, my wolf Bella curious but cautious within me. "This is unexpected," I said as I approached. "Why are

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Confrontation Between Rivals

(Third-person's POV)The tension in Aaron's Alpha office was palpable as the two she-wolves faced each other. Caroline stood with her chin raised slightly, her posture radiating confidence despite the bandage still visible on her forehead. Freya remained seated on the leather couch, her violet eyes calm and observant."If I remember correctly, you two were supposed to sever your mate bond after Elder Katherine's surgery, weren't you?" Caroline asked, her voice dripping with contempt. Her lips curved into a mocking smile as she continued, "It's been so long since Elder Katherine's surgery, why aren't you severed yet?"She paced a few steps closer, her designer heels clicking against the hardwood floor. "Freya, could it be that you're coveting the position of Luna of the Northern Ridge Pack and want to break our agreement by not severing the mate bond?"Unable to find Aaron, Caroline had clearly decided to taunt Freya instead. If Caroline hadn't helped her family keep their ancestral

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Refusal to Sever the Mate Bond

(Freya's POV)I paced back and forth in Aaron's Alpha office, my heels clicking against the hardwood floor. The sunlight streamed through the large windows, illuminating the space that carried his scent everywhere."I know you're avoiding me, Aaron," I said firmly into the phone. "We had an agreement."His silence on the other end only fueled my frustration."We agreed to sever our mate bond after your grandmother's surgery," I continued, trying to keep my voice steady. "Then you changed it to after her recovery. She's better now, so what's your excuse this time?"I heard him exhale sharply through the phone."I'm busy with pack business, Freya. This isn't the right time."I stopped pacing and gripped the phone tighter. "Not the right time? When will it be the right time? Next week? Next month? Next year?"My wolf Bella stirred inside me, sensing my rising emotions. I placed a protective hand over my abdomen where our unborn cub grew, hidden from Aaron's knowledge."I don't un

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Desperate Measures

(Caroline's POV)Father's expression grew increasingly grave as we continued our conversation in his private den. The firelight cast deep shadows across his face, making him look older and more concerned than I'd seen him in years."This won't work, Caroline," he said, leaning forward in his leather chair. "From what you're telling me, I'm deeply worried about your situation with Aaron."I could see the calculation behind his eyes. As Alpha of the Redwood Pack, my father rarely showed vulnerability, but now his concern was evident."What do you mean it won't work?" I asked defensively. He sighed heavily. "I had assumed you and Aaron were already a sure thing—that you were just waiting for him to sever his mate bond with Freya. But now you tell me you haven't even established a physical connection?"His words stung because they highlighted my own fears."If Aaron truly desired you," Father continued, "how could he have spent years in your company without making any advances towar

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   The Desperate Struggle for Affection

(Freya's POV)After saying goodbye to Grace Hunter, I headed directly to the wolf medical facility. My mind was still replaying our conversation, particularly my declaration about keeping my cub and severing the mate bond with Aaron. Saying those words aloud had solidified my resolve. The medical facility corridors were quiet as I made my way to Elder Katherine's room. I paused outside her door, adjusting my cardigan and taking a deep breath before entering with a warm smile."Look who's here," Sarah Steel announced, turning from her position beside the bed. "We were just talking about you, Freya."Elder Katherine's eyes brightened when she saw me. Despite her recent surgery, the elderly she-wolf looked remarkably improved, her complexion rosier than before."My dear," Elder Katherine extended a slightly trembling hand toward me. "Come sit by me."I moved to her side, gently taking her hand in mine. "How are you feeling today, Elder Katherine?""Much better," she replied, pattin

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   Decisions and Revelations

(Freya's POV)I stared at Grace Hunter, completely caught off guard by her direct question about my pregnancy. Her eyes held a mixture of challenge and vulnerability as she awaited my answer. The café suddenly felt too warm, too confined."How did you..." I began, then stopped myself. Of course she knew. She'd been at that same specialty clinic with her mother.Grace leaned forward, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Luna Snow, I may not have known you before, but I've heard rumors. The Alpha in your life has others besides you. Can you even manage your own affairs?"The words hit me like a physical blow. My wolf Bella growled defensively within me, protective of both our dignity and our unborn cub."You're suggesting I have no right to advise you because my own mate bond is problematic," I stated flatly, meeting her gaze.Grace's expression shifted instantly, the boldness fading as quickly as it had appeared. Her shoulders slumped, and regret flashed across her face."I'm sorry,

  • The Pregnant Luna Rejected Her Alpha   A Confrontation of Truths

(Grace's POV)Mother's grip on my arm tightened, her manicured nails digging into my skin. I winced but didn't pull away. Her eyes narrowed dangerously."Not going to see him?" she hissed, disbelief evident in her tone. "Do you think I was born yesterday, Grace? The last time you said that, I found you in that Delta's apartment!"I felt heat rising to my cheeks at the memory. Mother had tracked my scent across half the pack territory, bursting into Caleb's small apartment while we were together. The humiliation of that day still burned fresh in my mind."Mom, please," I pleaded, conscious of other wolves passing by us at the medical facility entrance. "It's not like that this time."She released my arm but kept her penetrating gaze fixed on me. "Then what exactly is it like? Where are you going in such a rush?"I hesitated. Telling her I was meeting Luna Snow would only raise more questions—questions I wasn't prepared to answer. But lying again would only deepen her distrust."I

(Aaron's POV)Mother's accusatory tone rang through the phone, making me wince. I could almost see her expression—eyebrows raised, lips pursed in that way that always made me confess as a young wolf pup."I don't know what you're talking about," I replied, keeping my voice even.I nearly blurted out that Freya and I were planning to sever our mate bond, but caught myself just in time. Mother had always been skilled at extracting information from me. When I was younger, she'd catch me off guard with rapid questions until I revealed whatever mischief I'd been involved in."Aaron Steel," she said, emphasizing my surname the way she always did when displeased. "I've known you since before you could shift. Don't think you can hide things from me."I drummed my fingers against the polished surface of my desk. Though she might still be the same perceptive mother, I was no longer the same easily manipulated pup."Look, Freya and I have had some minor conflicts recently," I said carefully
