Kayla's pov

“There's no way I'm expecting a baby now.” I said a little above a whisper. For so many years I was happily married to him I never got pregnant and now that I plan on ending things with him, this?

I can't accept the result, there has to be a mistake.

I gently touched my flat stomach, already beginning to love this little life that wasn’t even born yet. The doctor had told me that the numbers were still unstable and that I needed to take extra care during the early stages of the pregnancy.

“For the baby’s sake, can you forgive me this time, Kyla?” Justin asked. I turned to look at him angrily without replying to him.

I was raised by a single mother, and though I had the confidence to give my child all the love it needed, I still remembered asking my mother for a father when I was young. I don't want my child to go through the same childhood I went through, it was difficult growing up without a dad.

“Justin, please excuse us.” Lucy said to him while holding my hand lovingly.

“I already know everything. Kyla, you should have told me earlier,” Lucy said, her eyes red from crying as she carried in bags of my favorite foods and things. I didn't want to see Lucy hurt because I know she's been very good to me.

I didn't know what to say to her when I heard everything she said to me, I didn't want to hurt her, but I was really hurt.

“Justin is a jerk. If you weren’t pregnant, Kyla, I’d make him give you all the assets and divorce you. But now that you’re pregnant, I can’t let you or the baby go through this alone. He’ll take care of you both. When the child is older, if you still want a divorce, I’ll support you,” Lucy said, gently patting my head. That sounded like a good idea, but I don't think I can put up with him for that long, he hurt me so much that I now feel stupid for ever trusting him in the first place.

I cried and buried my face in Lucy’s embrace.

Lucy had to leave and Justin drove her back home.

*******

I was all alone In the hospital, so I decided to call my mom and tell her what's going on.

“Mom, I'm pregnant.”

Haley was thrilled. “Finally! I told you, if you didn’t work so much and stopped worrying about other things, you’d get pregnant. You made Justin wait too long.” I was left speechless when I heard what mom said to me.

I was used to Haley’s way of thinking, but still, it hurt. Why does mom always demand that I be a good student, make a lot of money, be a perfect wife, but never care about how I feel, what I want?

“Mom, is this what you have to say when you know that he cheated on me? He betrayed my trust!”

“So what if he cheated?”

I was beyond shocked to hear what she said and the tone she used.

“I'm filing for a divorce.”

“You wouldn't dare.”

“Mom, I'm the one married to him, and I have the right to divorce him!”

“Justin has been so good to you, how can you leave him? His cheating is because you didn’t take care of yourself, you couldn’t get pregnant. Maybe you should look at your own shortcomings. You’re so useless! I’ll be there soon to help you take care of the baby. You can’t let your marriage or the baby go wrong!” Haley said quickly, then hung up without giving me a chance to respond.

I was heartbroken but not surprised, she's still the same as always.

I was confused and devastated while I was laying on the bed. I can't believe that my world is falling apart in one day. Everything that seemed perfect was all Fallacy.

Picked up my phone again and started going through her profile. I couldn't help but compare her to myself and she was almost perfect. She is a talented Artist with so much love from strangers, maybe I wasn't good enough for him.

******

I had already gotten better and was discharged from the hospital.

Justin took my bag upstairs but I stayed down seated on the couch, going up would remind me of his infidelity.

When Justin was done dropping my bag and other things upstairs he came back downstairs and met me sitting on the couch.

We both knew I needed to rest during the early stages of pregnancy. I didn’t want to argue with him, but I also felt that things would never go back to how they were.

“I ended things with her already,I can prove it to you.” Justin said to me, even though I acted like I didn't care I still cared.

Justin tried to text Ella in front of me, wanting to clear the air, but the message was shown as rejected. Ella had blocked him.

I looked at his face and noticed it froze for a moment.

And just like that, the project was over.

“Did you end things with her? It looks like she ended it first.” I said to him angrily and walked away.

The room I hated so much is the only place I could go to right now because I want to stay far away from him. The sight of him disgusts Mt so much that I want to puke whenever he's around me.

Seeing the way she blocked him I guess her husband must have seen the pictures flying around the internet and maybe he scolded her which is why she blocked Justin. But I don't think he's going to be upset because he does the exact same thing. I remember walking up to him that  day at the VIP area and there were other girls warming the bench for him so he's not a saint.

If she blocked him then it means the contract has ended, this isn't good for our company.

Ella's povI woke up really tired from last night fun with Justin. He sure knows how to make me feel good. I flinged my shoes off my leg and fell tiredly on the couch.“Ms. Ella, Mr. Fleming has scheduled a meeting with you at 8 PM at the XX villa,” Zach’s secretary messaged her. I opened my eyes wider than normal when I realized the message only interpreted that Zach is back, and he's even in the house. Zach’s back? When I got married, I believed I would finally become Zach’s wife, enjoying his love and wealth. But in reality, Zach had only pretended to go along with his father’s wishes. He only saw me as a mere decoration. His marriage to me was like a contract to him. We've been married for three years but we've never lived like a real married couples. Zach has never had any meal with me, he only shows up when we're having a family dinner.I learned about Zach’s schedule from others, and if we were to meet, it was always arranged by his secretary. Kayla's povEven though I had spoken those explosive words the bodyguards remained unfazed, they were waiting for instructions from their boss. “Let her in.” I heard a deep voice echo from the room—magnetic, without any discernible emotion. At the center of the room sat Zach, his imposing presence filling the space. Despite the weariness in his eyes, his gaze alone brought a sense of pressure. A few glamorous women were seated beside him, casually sipping drinks.I was momentarily taken aback by his gaze, but quickly regained my composure. Reality hit me when I realized how stupid I was thinking talking to her husband would change anything. I realized that I may just be overreacting over nothing. Maybe they were just having a harmless conversation as friends so it might be better I speak to Justin first before jumping into conclusions. The private room was vast and lavish, I couldn't help but feel the stark contrast in our social standings. Perhaps couples like them—rich and powerf

Kyla povI decided to pay a visit to my best friend. We both agreed to meet at the bar where she works at night. “Babes, you do not look good at all, why are your eyes swollen?” Sally asked me.“Sally, I have a feeling Justin is really seeing another woman.” I confess to her being unable to hold back my tears. I have been crying all day Sally, I don't know how to handle the situation.“You know that's impossible right?” “It is, I went through his messages.”“What?” Sally said a little on top of her voice. Justin and I used to be envied in school. We were this famous couple that no one could come in between. Maybe he has finally grown tired of loving one woman in so many years. Sally was furious because she's been there all through, she knows the sacrifices that I made just so that this marriage could be where it is today.“Why would he even think of doing such a thing to you?”“You never know, maybe he's tired. I mean it's been years already.” “Don't you dare say that, you sacrif

Kyla pov“How was your day?” I asked Justin excited as I laid on the bed resting my head on his chest as usual.“I'm going to eat at the restaurant today: the Salmon there is delicious,” We always share details of our day before going to bed. But this time I did not understand what he's talking about because Justin doesn't even eat all this. I raised my head from his chest and turned to look at his face with my face squeezed.“When did you start eating these things?” I found it really odd because Justin has disliked raw food since our college days. He looked quite surprised when he heard the question I asked, my suspicions were wild seeing the look on his face. “I met a partner who introduced me to it.” The issue of eating raw foods wasn't that serious but I noticed that he's been adopting some new habits which are totally unlike him, he's changed his perfume, he's now eating raw foods and he doesn't even get intimate with me anymore. I am beginning to feel distance from him which
