CHAPTER 11

After wiping my eyes while they remained shut, I suddenly felt someone sit on the bench. I quickly opened my eyes and stood to see who it was.

God must be playing tricks on me ‘cause it was Lurcos, giving me a worried look. I sat right and looked away from him.

“W-What are you doing here?” I asked while trying to cover my bruised knees with the hem of my dress. I turned to him when I realized something. “Did you track me all the way here?” I asked in pure disbelief.

But, to my surprise, his expression didn’t change. Did he not hear me? Or maybe he was too worried to care? He still has this worried look. He gently grabbed both my hands and took a good look at my bruises. I tried grabbing my hands back, but he didn’t let me. I was embarrassed and I didn’t know why.

“Did he do this to you?” he asked in a cold manner, probably referring to someone I am with that I told him earlier.

I pulled my hands back with a little force and looked away again. “It’s nothing,” I replied.
