“She’s family, to me. She is family to me. Michelle said over and over again, sobbing loudly as she laid prostrate on the floor. Mrs. Danni was moved by her tears and begun to feel compassion for her too, as her eyes became teary-eyed. This reminded her so much of when her daughter, who died out of pregnancy complications. Her daughter was taken as a slave alongside her, and she did everything when they were captured, even to the extent of sleeping with all the guards she came across, so that she wouldn’t be separated from her. She had prostrated the same way, Michelle was currently doing, crying begging them, and it broke her heart.

And now, seeing this again, reminded her so much of her daughter, so she couldn’t help but feel pain too. Sniffling, Mrs. Danni went across the chair, and pulled Michelle up from the floor and said,
