CHAPTER 44:

Prince Michael opened the door and walked in, the light illuminated the room as his eyes sought for the probably sleeping slave on his bed, but what he saw, wasn’t what he expected.

Era wasn’t on the bed, she was, seated on the chair, where he usually wrote on his scrolls and her head was placed on the table, her eyes closed but he knew she was awake and he knew that she had sensed his presence already. He could see the dried up tears on he4r cheeks and knew instantly she had been sobbing quietly.

Just then, Era rose up from the chair and cleaned her face bowing her head, waiting for his command. Good, she was becoming obedient like a slave. She didn’t wait for him to usher any order so it meant one thing.

She was prepared to face whatever happened to her this night. He stared all over her, his eyes crawling through her skins like hands. Era shivered under the scrutiny. His eyes, never changed even after the inspection.
