I woke to the sound of snoring in my ear. It was loud enough it actually jolted me awake and took me a few seconds to get my bearings. I was in our bed, and Ryn’s scent was overwhelming me so I knew it was his snores. And based on the noise level I deduced his head was right behind mine. I tried to snuggle into him more and go back to sleep but quickly realized that was pointless so I sighed and then rolled away from him. Sure enough, he remained asleep. Out like a light thanks to his overnight activities, no doubt.

I crawled off the bed and grabbed one of Ryn’s sweatshirts and pulled it over my head. The cabin was not heated at the moment and while it wasn’t winter yet, it was autumn and getting colder at night.

Note to self, see about heat! I thought as I slipped on some homemade slippers and padded into the kitchen for coffee. I spared the clock a look on the way and wasn’t surprised it was early after
