Erased

Xalia breathed heavily with tears streaming down her cheeks as she stared at the guy in her presence, holding her gaze.

She looked at the burning building and then back at him.

“What the fuck was that?” she screamed in tears.

“What?” he asked and glanced at the building. He was too relaxed which made her feel so much rage within her. He just played with her life and he doesn't care about that.

“Do you think that was funny? I could have died because of a dumb game you were playing!” she cried as she moved closer to him. He just stared at her.

“You didn't,” he replied.

Xalia trembled on the spot as she glared hard at him. She was still so terrified that she thought she was going to die.

He showed up at the last minute and got her out of the building. She really thought she was going to die.

Xalia looked away from him as she noticed a car heading towards them, she raised her hand to her face due to how bright the headlights were.

The car pulled over and the lights were turned off.

“Come on,” he said and walked towards the car but Xalia didn't move.

“Oh, no. I am not going anywhere with you,” she said and he paused and raised his brows.

“Why?” he asked.

Xalia’s eyes widened in shock and she raised her hands in the air gesturing towards herself and the building.

“You almost killed me! Apart from that, you kidnapped me, knocked me out twice and you are being creepy knowing everything about me. Who the hell are you? How do you know me? Or Jack? What the fuck do you want from me?” she asked and he pulled out his phone from his pocket.

“The cops would be here in two minutes. Do you want to explain what happened to them and get arrested for being in a restricted area? Do you want to go back to walking on the streets without a purpose or do you want to get in the car?” he asked sternly.

Xalia sniffed and looked around, she had no idea what to do. Should she follow him or actually wait for the cops? What is next after that, though? Back to walking on the streets? Or she should take a dumb risk and follow the person who just tried to kill her?

Without getting any response from her, he got into the car. The chauffeur turned on the ignition and Xalia rushed to the car. She got in and sat glued to the door as she avoided eye contact with him.

She really hopes she isn't making a mistake but at the same time, she tries to ignore every negative thought. What is the worst that can happen? After all, her life is over anyway.

After a long drive, they arrived at a house. They both got out of the car and Xalia wrapped her arms around herself as she trailed behind him.

They got in and before she could look around, he walked away from her and a maid walked towards her.

“I will show you to your room ma’am.” The maid said. Xalia looked in the direction he headed and sighed.

Really? Nothing at all? Is she just supposed to be okay with this? She needs answers, what the hell is going on?

“Ma’am.” the maid called again and Xalia paid attention to her.

“Okay,” she mumbled before trailing behind the maid.

Xalia had dinner, she ate to her satisfaction and she had a good night's sleep. Something she hasn't had in days.

It was morning, Xalia had breakfast in the room, she was given fresh clothes and just when she was about to leave the room, she realized she was locked in.

She knocked and yelled repeatedly but got no response.

She started to pace the room and try to wrap her head around what had happened. She wanted to connect dots, figure everything out.

Are this man and Jack business partners? Enemies? And what does he mean by she has a lot to do with this? And how the hell did he know she was pregnant?

Xalia exhaled heavily and ran her hands through her hair. She was about to sit when the door opened, revealing a man.

Without hesitating, she stormed out of the room and headed to the living room. She got there and noticed bags being dragged out but she paid no attention to it but the man.

“Okay, I have had enough. Who the hell are you and what do you want with me?” she asked, feeling frustrated.

He waved his hand, dismissing everyone in the living room as he picked up a file on the table then he looked at Xalia.

“Sit,” he ordered and she scoffed.

She folded her arms and glared at him.

“Okay,” he muttered.

“Who are you?” she asked again.

“Zade. I am Zade Vale,” he replied. She was about to speak but he beat her to it.

“There is not much time, we need to be on our way. I will dumb it down for you to make things easier for both of us. You are a dumb billionaire, or you were one.”

“A billionaire by luck, nothing else. You lack everything else and you are weak. Trying to blow you up was to prove to you no one around you gives a fuck so I am willing to do you a favour if you help me in return.” he explained.

Xalia couldn't come up with a response, she was surprised by his choice of words towards her.

“In here is a contract. A contract that would last for three hundred and sixty-five days or less if you cooperate.”

“Huh?”

“If you spend a year with me, helping me do what I want, I will get everything you lost back and get rid of that thing in you,” he said and Xalia’s eyes widened a little.

“Huh?”

“I dumbed it down enough,” Zade muttered.

“Hold on, why will I agree to this? I don't even know you and why would I want to spend three hundred and sixty-five days with you?” she scoffed and he tilted his head a little.

“Don't you get it? You don't have a life anymore, you are nothing Xalia. Have you checked the news this morning? It's not about you anymore, you were in a building that blew up and no one is talking about it. I erased you from existence, there is no one like Xalia Harper anymore!”
