“What do you have to say about this, Ms. Harper?”

“How long have you been trying to sleep with your best friend’s fiancé?”

“Do you think this would affect your foundation?”

“Ms. Harper, say something.”

“There is enough evidence to prove you are guilty. How can you defend yourself?”

Xalia stood in front of everyone with reporters throwing different questions at her with camera flashes all over.

Her heart raced and tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at her best friend who looked heartbroken.

Next to her was her fiancé, Jack who was smiling secretly, and opposite them was her stepmother and father staring at her with disappointment evident on their faces.

Xalia blinked as she looked back at the video playing on the screen. A video of her forcing herself on Jack and saying bad things about her best friend Emily in the process.

The rehearsal dinner was being streamed live. There were reporters there because it was a rehearsal, they wanted it to be just like the actual wedding dinner.

Xalia felt her heart stop beating at a point as the questions started echoing in her head. Just this video has ruined everything for her. Her life is over.

Due to the shock and fear, Xalia suddenly started to feel sick. Her vision became blurry and she fell, her name being called repeatedly was all she heard before blacking out.

Xalia slowly opened her eyes and exhaled heavily.

“Ms. Harper.” She heard a familiar voice call her name and she turned to see her doctor. He was standing next to her in the room.

Xalia looked around and realized it was just him.

“I didn't let anyone in after your assistant brought you. I know you wouldn't want that.” The doctor answered the question in her mind and she sighed before nodding her head.

She tried to sit up and the doctor helped her immediately. She sat up and buried her face in her hands as she recalled what happened.

How could she be so stupid? How the hell does Jack have these videos and she had no idea? And what the hell got into her that made her sleep multiple times with her best friend’s fiancé?

She looked up at the doctor as tears welled up in her eyes. She was about to look away from him when she noticed his expression. He seems bothered for her, a little more than normal.

He is her doctor and has been treating her since she was a baby but he seemed a little too worried.

“Is something wrong, Dr. Martin?” Xalia asked softly and he sighed.

“You are pregnant again,” he replied and Xalia exhaled heavily.

She burst into tears quietly as she buried her face in her hands. After the humiliation, she thought things would never get worse. Now she is carrying Jack’s child? Again?

She sniffed and wiped her tears.

“It's okay, carry on with the usual,” she said, referring to the abortion process. Not the first, second, or third time she would be having an abortion because it is Jack’s baby.

“Hmm, about that. That won't be possible,” he said and Xalia raised her brows.

“Huh?”

“You have had multiple abortions in nine months, that is enough time to have a child. If you go on with this, there would be lots of complications and you might not make it,” he replied and Xalia stared at him in disbelief.

“Are you being serious?” she asked and he nodded sadly. Xalia scoffed as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Oh God, my life is falling before my eyes,” she muttered as she sniffed.

“What… What am I supposed to do? Do you know whose child this is? Have you seen the news?” she asked in tears, raising her voice a little. The doctor couldn't give her a response.

“I am the talk of the city and you don't even need to tell me reporters are everywhere at this hospital because I know. What the hell am I going to do? I am going through enough already, I can't have a child no one wants.” she said in tears and the doctor nodded.

“I understand, Ms. Harper but going on with it could kill you.”

“I don't care!”

“I’m sorry, ma’am. There is nothing I can do.” he apologized and Xalia cried.

How could she be so careless with everything?

How could she be so stupid?

Thinking Jack would love her if she gave him a body and everything he wants?

She has been a bad person and she needs to make things right. She can't ruin her best friend’s wedding and at the same time, she doesn't want her best friend getting married to an asshole.

“I can help you get out of the hospital without the reporters knowing.” the doctor offered and Xalia nodded.

“Am I okay to leave now?”

“Yes, ma’am,” he replied with a bow.

The doctor helped Xalia out of the hospital successfully and got her into a car.

Immediately, Xalia told the chauffeur to head to Jack’s apartment because she knew Xalia would be there and if she wasn't, she needed to talk to Jack.

Why would he do this to her after everything she has done for him?

They arrived at Jack’s mansion and she got out of the car. She got to the front door and she could hear cheers and familiar voices.

She ignored it and opened the door.

“Cheers! Cheers to ruining Xalia’s life.” she heard Jack say as she walked into the living room.

They were both engrossed in their celebration, they didn't notice her presence.

“And cheers to being the latest billionaire in the city,” Emily replied and kissed her fiancé.

“What?” Xalia said and they finally noticed her presence. They both turned to look at her and they didn't look terrified, surprised, or display any form of emotion at all.

Xalia wanted to apologize but she was curious about one thing. What Emily had just said. Jack isn't a billionaire, he is a millionaire so how did he become a billionaire in one night?

“What do you mean, cheers to being the latest billionaire in the city?” Xalia asked nervously with her voice trembling and Jack smiled.

“Oh, your lawyer hasn't called you yet?” he asked.

“Huh?”

“You signed everything you have ever had to me last week after I gave you the best fuck of your life. You have nothing, Xalia. All you have ever had is in my name!”
