A DAY LATER

Xalia wiped her tears and exhaled heavily as she got off the phone with the last person she thought could help her.

She had called over ten people who were her business partners or friends but no one was willing to help because of what happened.

Apart from that, word already spread in the business world that Xalia has nothing. It was crazy how everyone knew so fast.

She was still the talk of the city.

According to everyone she called, she is a disgrace and she is poor so no one can help her.

Xalia would be in the streets in minutes because her credit card has been frozen and she has nothing. She couldn't afford the room she got.

Her phone beeped and it was a media notification. The news about Jack and Emily’s wedding which was tomorrow.

Everyone in the city was praising Jack for being a good man and not cheating on Emily. No one knew the truth about anything.

Xalia walked down the dark street with tears in her eyes. She had no idea where to go or what she was doing, she was just walking.

The streets were empty, the lights were dimmed and the wind was heavy. Xalia had a hoodie on to hide her face in case she came across anybody.

Out of the blue, a car pulled over next to her and she flinched at the force. She took a step back and the doors opened revealing two huge men dressed in black.

Xalia took a step back immediately and took to her heels as she saw them coming towards her.

One of them caught up with her and she struggled with him.

“No, no, no. I don't have any money, I don't have anything.” she said in fear as he grabbed her.

“Please.” she cried as the other man approached them.

“Please, I swear I don't have any money anymore.” she cried as they pulled her to the car, ignoring her pleas.

She struggled with them and was about to get free when she felt a sharp pain at the back of her head. Her vision became blurry immediately and she blacked out in their arms.

~

Xalia opened her eyes slowly as she felt a sharp pain in her head. She hissed in pain and shut her eyes back immediately.

She slowly opened them and froze when she realized she was in a dark room. She couldn't see anything at all as she kept looking around.

She tried to move but she realized her hands were tied to a chair. She groaned in pain as she tried to free herself.

Her heart raced in fear as tears welled up in her eyes.

“Hello?” she called with her voice trembling but got no response.

“I have no money anymore. Please,” she added and sniffed. She was about to scream again when a screen came on and due to the bright light, she shut her eyes for a few seconds.

She opened them back and stared at the screen as a countdown started. When it got to one, it displayed Jack and Emily’s wedding live.

Xalia furrowed her brows as she watched.

Everyone was there, every friend and business partner she has were there, celebrating with them. The worst part of it, her father was the one walking Emily down the aisle because she had no father.

Xalia felt her heart shatter as she watched.

Her father looked so proud of Emily, he had a wide smile on his face as he stared at her. He had never stared at her that way before.,

Jack was staring at Emily as if his life depended on it. He seemed so much in love with her. He had never once looked at her.

She was sure their wedding would be the talk of the city because the most important people in the country were there. They are present because of her, she invited them, she sponsored the fucking wedding.

Everyone seemed so happy and they had forgotten about her existence.

Xalia felt numb as she watched. Tears kept streaming down her face without her having any control over them.

She felt so empty and heartbroken.

“To be fair, I think you deserve it.” she heard a voice say and she snapped out of her thoughts then flinched a little.

She looked around the room and noticed someone standing in a corner and staring at her. Xalia’s heart skipped a beat.

“Wh… who are you?” she stuttered as she stared at him. She couldn't see his face, just his structure but she could barely see it too.

She got no response.

“I mean, it was a good revenge against you. Fucking your best friend’s husband, saying bad things about her to him, begging him to love you, so pathetic. You are the bad person here, not the victim, no one betrayed you, they just got to you first.” he added and Xalia kept staring to see who it was.

“Eyes on the screen, Xalia,” he ordered coldly and Xalia turned to the screen immediately.

“Question. Do you think they did this to you as revenge or has this been their plan all along? Or do you think Jack cares about you and his child?” he asked.

Xalia stared at the screen and sniffed. There is no way they would intentionally want to hurt her, they care.

“They… they care about me. It was because of what I did.” she stuttered and heard footsteps. She turned to see him walking towards her.

He got into the light and Xalia could see his face clearly. He doesn't look familiar at all.

He got to her and stared down at her.

“You haven't learned anything at all,” he muttered.

“Wh… who are you? What… what do you want from me?” she stuttered and he tilted his head a little.

“I am going to show you how a billionaire acts,” he replied and Xalia felt him hit her head with something.

She moaned in pain as her vision got blurry.

“Rest now, my sin. We have a lot to do.”

Xalia opened her eyes as she heard her name being called repeatedly. Her eyes widened as she opened them fully and saw Emily tied to a chair opposite her. They were at each end of the room. Emily was dressed in a beautiful gown, it looked like she had been kidnapped during her dinner. “What the fuck is this place? Why am I here?” Emily screamed at her and Xalia looked around to see if she could see the man she spoke to earlier. “What did you do, bitch?” Emily screamed and Xalia looked at her.“I… I don't know. I was kidnapped.” she stuttered and Emily chuckled.“Oh, I know you know. You’ve always found ways to ruin me!”“That's not true,” Xalia replied with her voice breaking. She was about to speak again when they heard footsteps. They both paid attention to the direction and slowly Jack showed up.“Oh my God, thank God.” Emily sighed in relief and Xalia did too. Finally, she would be free. “If you take a step closer to her, a bullet goes in her head.” A voice said as Jack was a

“What did I do to deserve this? I took care of you and your wife. I gave you everything.” Xalia cried. “It was all supposed to be mine in the first place! You took everything from me, you took my wife from me and she gave everything we built together to you and left nothing for me!” he yelled at Xalia and she cried. “I didn't kill her, it is not my fault she died. I didn't do anything,” she said in tears as she stared at her father. Xalia's mother died twelve years ago in an accident and her father blames it on her because it was her mother's fault she was driving in a storm. Ever since then, her father hated her. It got worse when they found out she gave everything to Xalia. Her father’s hatred for her grew but Xalia spent all these years trying to make it up to him. “You need to leave.” her stepmother finally spoke up and Xalia looked at her.“Where would I go? I don't have anywhere to go or anything anymore.” she cried in fear. The fear of her being homeless and pregnant clou

“What?” Xalia asked, confused and Emily sighed.“Do you need him to dumb it down for you?” she asked, rolling her eyes and Xalia looked at her. Wait, how does she know about this?“You… you know about… “ Xalia stuttered as she felt a lump in her throat.“From the very moment he banged you,” she said with a smile and took a sip from her drink. “What?” Xalia asked in disbelief and Emily groaned.“I have always known you were too dumb to be a billionaire. Let me explain how it went to you like a two-year-old. The first time you threw yourself at him and he fucked you, he told me because he loves me so much so I forgave him and you because I felt like it was a mistake.” Emily explained and moved closer to her.“But then, I saw the way you always stare at him. The way you always stare at my man like he is the reason you exist then you came the second time, he rejected you and told me. Then I was like fuck it. Why not use this to our advantage? Use her, get her to do whatever you want, af

  • The Queen’s Men   Ruining Xalia

“What do you have to say about this, Ms. Harper?”“How long have you been trying to sleep with your best friend’s fiancé?”“Do you think this would affect your foundation?”“Ms. Harper, say something.”“There is enough evidence to prove you are guilty. How can you defend yourself?”Xalia stood in front of everyone with reporters throwing different questions at her with camera flashes all over. Her heart raced and tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at her best friend who looked heartbroken. Next to her was her fiancé, Jack who was smiling secretly, and opposite them was her stepmother and father staring at her with disappointment evident on their faces. Xalia blinked as she looked back at the video playing on the screen. A video of her forcing herself on Jack and saying bad things about her best friend Emily in the process. The rehearsal dinner was being streamed live. There were reporters there because it was a rehearsal, they wanted it to be just like the actual wedding d
