Annabel’s Pov.

“And who told you that you could touch what belongs to me without checking with me first? Doc?!”

My eyes shot up and I sprung up from the bed with a rush that made the minor headache I was feeling intensify.

The doctor did not look the least bit surprised or threatened which was odd because everyone I had seen this man yell at was usually in shock or cowarding in fear. The two men just kept staring at each other with an indifferent cold glare.

I cannot tell if it is from their stares but the temperature in the room had suddenly changed, it was like I was under the hottest sun while in Antarctica, the room was fiery hot and extremely cold at the same time.

I quietly cleared my throat afraid of turning whatever tension they were having to myself. I waited, watching from one person to another checking the expression on each of the men’s faces, confused by what they were doing but curious as to what was about to happen.
