Chapter Eleven: Violet

The bedsheet beneath my bare stomach was softer than I had remembered it being. I slowly stretched as my arm moved further up the bed until it was under the pillow. My body felt better than I was used to, as I finally had a decent night of sleep. Sleep was something that had never come easily for me.

I could feel the air conditioning blowing through the vent across my back, and I sighed in content. My blanket had moved through the night to barely cover my butt and left my upper body exposed to the elements. A chill racked through my body as goosebumps rose across my skin, but I resisted the urge to shiver and instead gripped onto the pillow tighter.

My eyes remained closed as I dozed in and out of sleep in the comfort of the warm bedding. The feeling of my bare skin being caressed by the cotton duvet felt nice as I snuggled further into it. I debated reaching down to pull the plush blanket over my exposed back but refrained, as a movement that large would surely take
